To be fair, Alireza mentioned that he felt like he woulda lost if Fabi didn't make the mistake, which he probably shouldn't have since it was move 41. He also mentioned Fabi seemed to notice the mistake practically immediately. I'm glad Alireza survived though
Alireza really is a master of putting himself in a bad position but managing a draw, I remember his 4th game against Sindarov at the world cup really was a master class of defending.

Currently fabi is 1 pawn up against alireza in general but alireza will pass him soon as he is so talented his style is so aggressive and unique
Alireza is very good at Endgames almost next to Magnus,, but this time Alireza was lucky!! However ,,we have to admit that ,you have to be in Good position and in Place to get Lucky,,and that Alireza did!! Hence, he deserved the Draw!!

Alireza got a lucky break again today. Also with Ding, who is tired and psychologically a bit vulnerable at the moment. Magnus usually doesn't let opponents get away when they overstretch themselves with risk like Firo sometimes does. 2600 players get slayed by him, but players who have seen the other side of 2800 - not so easy. What I do notice is he is beating the top level more consistently, so he is adapting and in the coming few years he will become more and more difficult to beat. What I like is that he knows the risks he takes and he acknowledges it openly. Eventually he will become the guy all the young, upcoming ones aim their guns on.
Ding Liren played 5 games against 5 different GMs during this tournament with only one lost against alireza? Wasn't he tired against the other players?
Sucks for Fabi. Used to cheer for Firouzja, but since he became a part-time chess player I'd rather pull for Caruana to go back to 2800.
