I'm with you Big Dawg. You called me out. LOL I don't need a vector motor in a trimmer because I don't bald out with my trimmers. Might try the clipper. But I also think that the more mechanical and technological features you add to a thing the greater chance it has to fail sooner. Kinda like when auto manufacturers started loading cars with sensors. You get it.

  • @Mike-hy8cs

For the instinct you dont need that much spm or rpm on a trimmer thats overkill. In fact it will make it line up worse depending on the hair you cutting. If you line up a client with a weak density hairline or that has a lot of loose hairs on the hairline the fast speed can push hair away instead of actually cutting it.

  • @bobbystillz222

You don’t always want more power on a trimmer. Unless you’re doing Baldy‘s or balding out fades the higher motor is better, So the motor won’t bog down. But when you’re doing a lineup you want the finesse of the saber. You want a sharp blade that’s quiet in that medium RPMs that makes a sharp line without trying to mow through the hair. You don’t wanna mow through hair. I want to be able to finesse the line and leave as many hairs on as possible to make a sharp line.

@@jcramirez77 I found the babyliss and the sabers line up just as good. What set them apart though was that the sabers we're smoother which made the overall experience better as well as the lineups. With them being smoother they don't bite like that and cut through without snagging which I felt was a problem with the babyliss Fx skeletons.

The instinct is REDICULOUSLY loud and shakes crazy due to the plastic body housing, returning mine dsy 2 🥴🥴. Also if you’re going to zero gap the instinct / prepare to markup /irritate sensitive skin as it grabs much harder than the saber (for people with softer /sensitive skin it will for sure leave red lines unless you set the blade wwaayyyy back. It looks cool, fell for the hype I guess 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ def can’t recommend the instinct to my friends. It’s almost too powerful and will jump right out of your hand if you don’t hold it down with a Goliath grip. Kinda bummed out over this as I didn’t see too many honest opinions about the instinct

I almost fell for the "hype" like we said in the 80's , I see that the Fashion show continues in the Barber field. All these different brands, clippers and trimmers do the same thang and barbers think they just gotta have them, [to be the cool barber] . Old heads can cut better with Target and walmart corded clippers. Stop the hype.
