changed our the light strings and went to Elixer 12-53 medium and replaced plastic pins with ebony. What a difference in sound fullness. I detune to D# and checked with Yamaha. They confirmed no issues as long as set up adjusted to suit ie: neck relief. Basically no adjustment was needed on mine. Find is actually easier to play barre chords as strings are thicker. Lovs fhis guitar and tried many in the price range above and below. The Yamaha won.
Your LL-16-12 sounds great! I got one in Feb and really like it so far. The baking of the top on these guitars seam to really help them to sound opened up.
Thank you for this great demo! Just ordered my LL-16 12-string today, and this is making me so excited for it to arrive! I’m glad I found out about this guitar before spending over 3 times more on the new Martin J16
The big test of any acoustic guitar is with the capo on the 5th fret or higher. Here you prove the quality of this Yamaha with plenty of tonal quality and sustain. Have you noticed that the spacing between the octave and regular string is tighter- ie: closer spacing compared to other guitars with a wider nut? I think this make it easier to fret chords. Spacing between string sets is a fraction tighter compared to 1 14/16" nut as Yamaha is 1 13/16" but the difference is ever so tiny. People complain that the Yamaha is more difficult to play with this fractionally tighter spacing, but personally I think it is a lack of practise and effort. The 12 string guitar is not to be taken lightly. It demands committment from the player. I had this model years ago, but am going back to having a 12 string, and this LL is my choice - again. If money is an issue I can vouch for the Yamaha FG820-12 model. For the money - a great guitar.
Thanks! I love the tiny spacing, it makes the guitar really easy to play in my opinion. It can make it harder to pick indeed but I mostly play it strumming so not an issue for me! Cheers!
A person can't say "better" or "worse" when it comes to instruments. It's actually "I prefer" or "I don't prefer". The LL series are handcrafted. There are higher quality characteristics to the instrument such as the pearl inlays around the sound hole, on the fretboard marker and on the headstock. The main difference between the LL16-12 (A.R.E.) and your FG820s-12 are: your FG820s-12 has: Mahogany sides and back vs the LL16-12 which has : Solid Rosewood sides and back. They are both a solid Spruce top. The Rosewood is a MUCH warmer (more mids and bass) sound. The Mahogany sides and back create a bright sound (focused on mids and high/treble). I find the high strings resonate much better with the FG820s-12 (which is what I prefer). But, each to their own.
@@Twitch_Moderator also the LL16 has engleman spruce top, while the 820 has sitka spruce. I have both in six string and hope to pick up an LL16/12 Tomorrow. Beautiful guitars.
Yeah I know, I'd need to check the raw audio to know if it come from the light EQ I did or if it's from the recording itself... Though I could record some quick samples without any EQ or anything and send it to you if you'd like? You can contact me on my Instagram if you want :)
Loved seeing that barre F chord on the third song, notoriously tough for 12 strings! What do you think about the pickup on the LL-16-12, does it sound like a typical piezo (quacky, unnatural) or does the SRT Zero Impact sound more like a real guitar than most?
And people criticize wonderwall... it's may be one of the best songs to test an accoustic guitar and actually most people play it with a wrong rythm (this one sounds a bit weird to me too)
Well I still love it, it's the easiest 12-string I've played ! The narrow neck will make it hard to play arpeggios but other than that it's brilliant !
First I played random chords that I think sound really nice, with nice open strings. Then I played : "Candy" - Paolo Nutini ; "Wonderwall" - Oasis ; "Hotel California" - Eagles ; "You Shook Me All Night Long" - AC/DC, then a descending chord progression based on "China Girl" by Bowie but many songs use this progression ("Knee Socks" by Arctic Monkeys for example), then it's a song of mine called "Green Shoes" (you can find it on SoundCloud). Cheers ! ✌️

Glad to help you expect it with some preview! :)
I'm a massive fan of Yamaha and that is one of the best sounding ones you can buy...Just a tad out of price range...Great demo many thanks....
Beautiful sound. Nice demo with lots of styles. Very impressive 👏👏👏
I bought mine about a year ago and it sounds fantastic.
Thank you for mixing in styles. This is why people buy instruments. Great job.
Thanks and you're welcome!
Beautiful instrument congratulations and enjoy it every day.... make superb music

Merci ! 😜😘
Great sound!
GREAT CAT!!!!
Thank you ! I'll pass the message ☺️
Just as Ibanez, Yamaha build in de 70s and 80s beautifull sounding guitars.
it sounds great, but i feel like the low strings r lower in volume, is it the case with it?
Nice😇
Nice guitar.
Superbe guitare pour un prix raisonable .. pour donner le maximum d'une 12 cordes, il faut privilegier les arpèges..
Шикарное звучание!
Intensely bright.
Thanks a lot! :p

It's an incredibly cool sound for what the guitar costs ?
Yes it is! Very easy to play, keeps in tune, good looking and beautiful sound!
There’s some slow flange going going on - yes? Is there some audio without that?

@@mathieuhoueix2163 Excellent. I appreciate your reply!
Check out my cover of Fix You by Coldplay using this guitar !

Yes indeed !
What songs did you play

Je t'en prie ! Ahah ✌️😊
That’s some weird G chord you’re playing there... What’s going on with that index finger?
I don't know what G chord you're referring to ! Tell me, I may have an explanation for you ✌️😊
yea im genuinely interested which g you're referring to
I may just be seeing it wrong but when i play a g, my index finger is on the second fret of the 5th string but it looked like yours was just muting it
Beautiful guitar btw
@@Admill15 Thanks !
И на гитаре поиграл и с котиком поигрался!)
Yea LL16-12 is a solid 12 string it hold s up against my Taylor well, i actually use the LL more when tracking,BTW the Cat won over your LL lmao
😊😊😊
ça sonne mieux dans les autres démos, là on dirait la fg 720 s 12
Ok merci pour ta science ✌️
Problem with 12 stringers is...you get bored with the sound!
Problem with negative comments, you get bored with the sound!
