    Hi Guys,
A viewer works at Rolls-Royce and invited me to have a tour of the factory. I ended up driving a Wraith - it was fast, expensive and I loved it!
I know it's not a watch video, but I hope you like it.
    Cheers,
    Adrian

Fantastic Video - My wife got me a drive with a Ferrari and Lamborghini on my 30th Birthday a few years ago. I could relate to that sensation (and elation on your face) of getting behind the wheel of an incredible machine. The Rolls looked epic in every sense of the word :)

it kinda fits. Because a Rolls-Royce Wraith is a "sports cars" in the same way that a Rolex Submariner is a "Sports watch". Developed to be good for a particular purpose. But then intended to be used in a completely different way.

Interesting video Adrian. Like many watch guys I also have an interest in cars, particularly the high end models. I work for Rolls-Royce but in the aero engine division, not the car sector. I once promised to take a few friends out to the local football match. My own car was in for a service so I told them we would be using the company’s pool car instead of my own vehicle. They assumed that because I worked for RR that I would be driving a Wraith or something similar. They were very disappointed when I pulled up in VW Passat estate which was our pool car at the time. Interesting fact regarding the colour of the intertwined double R logo. The characters were originally inlaid in red, however it was changed to black in 1934 as a mark of respect, after the death of Henry Royce

Great video & it'd be great to see more car videos if they come your way. On the whole RR using BMW engines thing and comparing that to the watch world, probably the closest would be Patek/AP/Vacheron using JLC movements in their watches before they switched over to in-house, or Vacheron using a modified Cartier 1904 in their FiftySix models. Either way though it is a great point that in the watch world parts sharing is still kind of a sensitive issue whereas in the car world it's fine as long as its a good engine (and that V12 is a beast :D)
