Abigail was first born dead on July 7th, 1777. Every King Diamond album is a full story. Hearing one song out of context is a tough position to be in.

Really should do a whole album reaction seeing how The Kings albums are a whole story all the way through. You will understand everything then, and it just kick ass.

Omg... watching you guys try to break this down is utterly painful. lol Yes, it's a concept album.... ALL of his albums are concept albums, I told you that yesterday and so did many others. You did a song from the middle of the album, you aren't going to get it like that.
I've seen both Mercyful Fate and King Diamond about 10x in total. Every show is still the best!
This is one of the best concept albums in metal and meant to be listened to as such. I believe you guys would really enjoy the vocal interplay where King sings all the characters with different voices and infliction, plus the solos by Andy LaRocque and Michael Denner are fantastic.
King Diamond is from Denmark where he was in the band Mercyful Fate, after their breakup King went on to form King Diamond, FUN FACT: King now resides in TEXAS!!!
Yes... it's the same guy. lol He has a very wide vocal range and is known for his use of falsetto. He's actually 62 yrs old, has had a triple bypass heart surgery... and still can sing like this! I saw him live about 2 years ago and it was absolutely amazing, I have several videos I recorded that night of entire songs. (decent quality too) He puts on one the best shows, it's like a play or a movie happening right in front of you.
please listen to the entire album this concept album tells an incredible story that is still a fan favorite to this day. All Hail the KING!!!

Now that you’ve heard him (King Diamond), you’ve got to try his original band Mercyful Fate. That is a band that helped influence black metal. Evil, Curse of the Pharaoh, Melissa are all fantastic songs
