    This guy’s parents did just an incredible job raising him. You don’t learn to be coachable the first time you put on a uniform; your folks prepare you for that so that you go into the game with the right attitude. Any coach would kill to have a guy like JJ running their offense for the next 10-15 years.

    But when JJ was asked to step up and throw, he was lights out. He was smart and accurate. Michigan would not have won as much without JJ. He was the leader and when his team needed a good throw from him he almost always delivered.
    I’m glad he was picked in the first round he absolutely deserves it. He will be a good qb I have no doubts.

    As a Commanders fan sitting at 2, I know they say it would be over drafting him here with Jayden and Maye on the board and I love Jayden… I think he’s QB #2. But I have JJ on the same tier as him and Maye. Just some guys have ELITE intangibles and his tangibles are great too. I think he needs more top end talent around him to be super successful (a la Brock Purdy) but he’s a better prospect than Purdy from a total tools and athleticism standpoint. But he gives me that kind of vibe. He’s got his weaknesses but I see a lot of potential and I’d be ok with reaching for him at 2 if they decided to do that here.

    I know for JJ it must have hurt a lot but the rewards he will get from surviving that pain will go a long way in his future pro career. There will be times in life on and off the field when things don't go your way and you will have to deal with that in real time especially when you are on the field. The lessons you learned by not having people pander to you because you are the QB will will help you a lot more that those who received the special treatment, throwing 50 times a game. Look at the most of the championship winners and they have a run first approach where the QB needs to there in the moment for those critical situations. When QBs have to throw all the time, I just notice that in those critical situations they mostly fold in those high pressure situations because they have exhausted themselves to the point where when the team really needs them, it's hard for them to be since by that time the defences have adjusted to what you are trying to do with your game plan. When you are run first the defence adjust their game plan on defence late in games to maybe key in on the run which can open opportunities for the QB in the passing game when the game is on the line.
    One thing of note is that I don't think WR are as talented as they were like say Megatron. Dude went to Georgia Tech while they ran triple option and still got his yards. When you are a badass on the field don't matter what system you play in, you are going to be a badass. Now all these WRs need these spread offences to get their yards because they are passing 55 times a game out of 67 snaps on the average. Just something I noticed now where receivers are physically more talented than most of them in past years but I don't see the same level of technicians I saw in years previous.

      You have the whole data set. It's not a sample. It's just a smaller data set but statistically there is still plenty of data to make a decent judgement. Smaller data sets only mean the measures of variation and central tendency are a little broader. There is plenty of data

      @@Professional-fh1ow I'm just pointing out that you mis-used the term "sample size". You're not sampling.
      You have all the data. The press do it all te time. Just ask yourself - are they sampling systematically, randomly, or structured randomly, and you'll find out that they're not sampling at all - hence "sample size" is a ridiculously irrelevant term to use.
      All the data says JJ will be very good.

    • @Professional-fh1ow
      @Professional-fh1ow 8 месяцев назад

      @@robe2504 Thank you for that piece of advice that forwards mankinds thinking because the entire world should know that "sample size is a ridic and irrelevant term to use. I'm sure you'll say..."only in this context".
      So, that said...let me ask you based on that response...is a sample size the equal to a poll of opinion? A sample size results in opinion but so does a poll?

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 8 месяцев назад

      @@Professional-fh1ow JJ threw 240 passes last season - which is plenty of data for any statistically significant problems to have shown up.
      I was being polite, but any "sample size" statements in relation to JJ are pure BS.
      Your question about samples and opinion polls conflates two different ideas, and literally makes no sense.
      There is sampling of a process with measures of central tendency and variation, and there is sampling as part of survey design which is a completely different thing.
      Throwing a ball is a process not a survey, so about 30 measures of each type of throw is generally enough for a solid measure of variation.
      Survey design sampling measured by the margin of error and confidence interval selected. From memory 384 randomly sampled subjects results in a 5% margin of error with a 95% confidence interval.
      It's an exponential scale so getting more accurate than 3% MOE is very expensive which is why typical opinion polls are somewhere around 1000 people with a 3% margin of error and 95% C.I.
      Skol!

    Dude was pissed they devalued his stock. And this is why Michigan can’t close on a 5 star QB. They lost out on the last 3 cycles on QBs in their own backyard. It works for them, obviously but they won’t ever get elite QBs or WRs going forward with their philosophy. Historically, they never have been a 5 ⭐️ QB school, minus Henson. Dude even threw lil shade at Brady & bigged up PM. Brady don’t give AF about his school. Sad.

    i don't want to be negative with such a well spoken and mature young man but him saying it was a bitter pill to swallow playing within the Harbaugh offense, shows a lack of understanding of how talented Michigan was compared to most of their opponents and how the QB on such a team has such an easy job to look great when you decide to throw the ball, knowing that you have a great running game and great defense must be incredibly comforting for anyone under center. The NFL is the antithesis of that; where by design every team is almost equal and what sets them apart is do they have a QB that can win games against the best teams in big moments when the opposing defense has taken away all your easy answers. Times like that he will wish he had the "bitter pill"
