      Needs to be more regular though.. Look at any growing channels. The key is R-E-G-U-L-A-R-I-T-Y as a cheerleader might say! Charlie uploads maybe once a week? He needs a faster production and editing team.

    The real question should be, is Jim Harbaugh worth $5 million per year to the University, and the Athletic Department, as a whole? YES, is the answer! Jim answered the question correctly, as a person (human being), he is not worth $5 million, annually, nor is he worth anymore than the next guy/woman, in a literal, human sense.
    The University knows he is worth the investment and the financial "risk", based on his resume and his past experiences in the football world... The amount of $$$ the University brings in from the football program is well worth the $5 million dollar annual investment. The revenue (not profit) from one sell out game at Michigan Stadium is enough to pay his annual salary, with a good chunk left over... ONE GAME! That's just about a no-brainer. Even $10 million annually would be worth it for the University, being that football $$$ helps support a large part of of the University, and the entire athletic department (all sports). U of M football is it's money machine! That's the business/market of college athletics. GO BLUE!

      +tcryder81 You're correct, but his humility is correct. Additionally, Charlie let the point be stated at 4:30. However, he comments again at 4:40 that the point is the education and such a big payment might be motivation, but it's exorbitant and only detrimental to the university and the student. I say it's detrimental because it takes money that could be elsewhere and Jim would be just as happy with less money. HOWEVER, KUDOS TO JIM FOR HIS HUMILITY.

    He doubled the amount of wins Michigan had compared to their record the previous year He just signed the number 1 high school player in the country and had the nations 5th best recruiting class, his class also had the most commits of the top 5. I'd say he's worth it.

    Not sure how it is in Michigan but here in Georgia Kirby Smart only receives about $200,000 from the State of Georgia the rest of his guaranteed millions in pay a year comes from the U. Georgia Alumni plus he gets whatever endorsements he can. Our Port authority Director makes over 2 million a year and the tax commissioner of Fulton County "Atlanta" makes around $500,00 a year. Our Governor earns less then $200,000 a year.......Funny stuff.

    • @JonSmith-yq1dw
      @JonSmith-yq1dw 7 лет назад

      Why Me? I'm sure you're guaranteed right. lacrosse is a bit popular in the Northeast but most of the country it's not. I live in Florida and when I was in high school and middle school there was no lacrosse teams. if you wanted to play it then you would have to join some type of private League that I'm sure somebody put on but who even knows if they had enough people and every city to make it where you actually had enough teams to play with every year. I remember going up to New York during the summer to visit my relatives for about 2 weeks but when we went up there school was still in session since their summer starts later than ours down here. There starts when literal summer starts and ends on Labor Day. Are starts usually the last day of May and starts somewhere in the middle of August. Anyway my aunt goes we got to go to your cousin's lacrosse game if they win this one then during the summer they get to go play the better teams around the state and the country and I remember looking at her saying what the fuck is lacrosse? The big sports that are played no matter where in this country are football and basketball and baseball butt baseball's definitely fell quite a bit and popularity since when I was born in the 80s. Football still very popular but I believe basketball is probably either almost caught up to it or it might be a tad bit more popular but I'm not positive and of course you can argue which one's more popular at the high school level college-level and National professional level

    Ok but in all seriousness pay attention to football just a bit and you will realize the reason that guy is the head coach is because he has a masters degree in football no different than a brain surgeon except he entertains a lot more people and for a local area it’s also a way to keep pride in your team ,
    I will never be jealous of another mans hard work and blessings I’m sure if he wasn’t doing a good job coaching he would be gone on the other hand you can notice high end coaching in football 100 fold more than any other sport with the next prob basketball , athletes need some one to corral them that they respect and can learn from in a tough love kind of way . Football players are never the smartest on a whole it’s Amazing when you see what a Urban Myers can do for a team almost overnight.
    Same in pros Jacksonville jags make playoffs with Tom coughlin , he leaves goes to Giants for like 8 yeArs wins 2 Super Bowls while jags never make playoffs while switching coaches every 2 years he goes back to Jax last year they are division champs and into the final playoff round. This year they have a good chance of winning .
    My point is coaching is really almost priceless when it comes to football with how much revenue a good coach can bring you.

      +Steven King It's advertising. That's all. College sports is a nationwide ad campaign for the schools. Most good teams turn profits that pay for all the other sports the school has. Most good programs power the local economies of the towns the schools reside. Understand economics.
