I've been seeing more and more of them on Insta. Those people need to be stopped. An old crown vic auction police car with the search light? Cool in it's own way. A dude buying a brand new Explorer from a dealership then adding red/blue lights (that they def never use), tinting it out, modifying it to look identical to a police car? Lame as fuck and mildly scary depending on the individual.

Here's a bit about this guy: He really is a poser. His gf is does alot of stuff on cars herself and he tries to take credit for it. There is a series about him surprising his GFs sister when she comes back by giving it a make over, but when you look at her account you can see her being the mechanic and it actually being her idea. Only work i saw him do on that car was taking the wheels to a tire shop to get them fitted and balanced... Oh and he called all-seasons "performance tires"
My girlfriend lived with me for years. But she will post pictures working on my car and her car doing updates and so on. I’m just the brains and muscle at this point😂 this whole “supercar” build would have been better if it was his girlfriend doing everything🤣

I'm glad I'm not alone on the whole blackout builds thing, everyone keeps telling me "pull the stripes off" and "black it out" but I much prefer silver wheels and want to have the stripes redone in silver to match the wheels when I get them
Break up the black a little, like black spoked wheels with a chrome lip at least
Black wheels can look good only if there's some color or chrome surrounding it, if it's pure black then it doesn't look that good
Yeah to be fair I don’t think the “black out” phase is over more than the “murdered out” phase is. Everything black is just too much but like some here have already said, spread it out and everything in moderation!! a little black here and there goes a long way, at least I can say so for my cars.

recent shorts I saw on that dude was where he literally cut his exhaust pipes using an angle grinder so he could "upgrade" the exhaust on that poor merc.

I worked with a workshop that turned street cars into formula D ready cars and from my experience a supercar doesn’t just mean power, it includes a whole suspension setup, big brakes which potentially need a designated cooling system, potentially from air drive from beneath the car or from the fake front grilles, performance tyres, working aero, weight reduction, a race transmission, a stiffened chassis and many more little things. Idk why anyone would choose a 15 year old luxury car as a supercar platform, it’s heavy, made too be comfortable and sluggish, you can absolutely turn it into a super car but the time and money required would be insane especially since I’m guessing that no one offers parts that aren’t even close to what it takes to make it a super car so everything would have to be custom. I think getting an actual super is going to be cheaper and more hassle free
Well to be fair Brabus tunes these old luxury cars and they do a good job of it but some clown couldn't even do 1% of the things a Brabus tune includes and its $50,000 starting price so lets just say they charge like $70,000 to tune that SL 550 thats still cheaper than any supercar I know of
I may be in the minority here, but I honestly don't mind how the car looks. I think chrome deletes can make a car look a bit sportier. However, I think making aesthetic changes should come after any performance mods. Wrapping the car and fogging the headlights should be the final step, not the first or only step. I think you only earn the right to change the car's physical appearance as a reward for improving its performance.
It even makes sense practically. If I were doing mods myself, I wouldn't want to spend time and money on wrapping the car, only to risk making marks on it by lifting the engine out, for example.

If he would have done a paint restoration, lowered it, wheels, tires, and tint, and left the cosmetic stuff at then then put the rest into a super charger or turbo this would have been much better. Or if he just didn’t wrap it and did everything else he could have gotten a wet nitrous kit and made it faster.

Racing stripe sticker - 10hp , “R” sticker - take 2 seconds off of track time, giant spoiler - prevents car from taking flight and going into orbit. I put 50 racing stripe stickers on my Maxima and I smoke Lamborghinis.
