I am personally praying for mental clarity and comfort for a friend whose brother died of an overdose 5 years ago. That brother’s teenage son attempted his own life this year as well. If you have lost a loved one this time of year, I ask our holy father to bless you with abundant love and peace this holiday season. Remember you aren’t alone. The roller coaster temperature swings from warm to cold and just maybe a very frigid spell of prolonged cold weather comes in Jan. But that remains to be seen.

@@MitchWestWeather It's okay though. I am lucky enough to go up there a few times a year. When I was there at the beginning of April for Spring Break several inches of snow came down. I guess this trip was the trade-off.
november and the beginning of december started out great for the northeast. but last week and now into this we're back to the warm/wet cold/dry pattern that we've been stuck in for years. so disappointing and there is no signs this pattern is going to break anytime soon.

Cold delayed is usually denied. The southeast ridge is taking over along with Pacific air flooding the pattern. IF it gets cold this weekend? It will only last a day or two. I have 70 predicted in WV today and rain for Christmas Eve and Day. The models during Winter are just bad and unreliable.
Well man, it was never suppose to be cold between Christmas and New years. And this cold coming was never suppose to last more than a few days. Hopefully January can bring hope.
@MitchWestWeather The climate prediction center maps from last Friday or Saturday, had below normal temperatures in the east from the 18th thru 26th or 27th. Now it's down to two days at most, just saying. Not getting down on you. You just post and explain what you are seeing. I'm just pointing out how unreliable they are with cold and the duration of it.

I only know what you’ve told me, and based off what you’ve told me, you have done everything you can to try to change him. You need to seek God instead of your own wants & see an answer. But to me, it sounds like you need to step away from the situation. Praying you get the answer you need to hear not want to hear.

The warmup is starting to cool down. Not looking forward to the bitter cold coming, but at least not a lot of snow coming.

Mitch why does it always get real cold with no precipitation vs. but gets warm with plenty precipitation? Eastern NC
Because the cold often times digs way to far South Suppressing any moisture.
