      Me either. I found NBA basketball boring compared to the NHL hockey that I grew up watching. When Clark, Mitchell, Hull and Boston are doing their thing on the court together it is magical to watch. Like when Gretzky and Kuri were on the ice in their prime, the playmaking was unbelievable. The behind the back pass from Clark to Boston OMG. The speed of the women's game compared to the men's, I much prefer watching a woman's game. And the things CC can do on the court, she is so exciting to watch whether she shoots the ball herself or sends a dime to one of her teammates and they score. There are other really good women in the league but I much prefer watching CC do her thing. What will she come up with next?

      Yes, they seem to be getting better because they were actually at the bottom of the league prior to getting Kaitlyn. They just needed a leader that would actually allow him to shine and actually buffer up their weaknesses and actually showcase their talents because they got drafted in the first place if they weren’t good, they just needed a lead to take charge and to direct and it actually helps that she’s not a ball hog that she will pastor her other teammates because she realizes their team not just one person with the ball.

However i cannot fathom why the attitude and reaction of some people in the States. Perhaps someone stateside can explain to me why Clark is not the best rookie, no argument. Her personal stats exceed any other rookie, her assists are a clear indication that she makes the team work, her constant movement creates space for her teammates. (Difficult to quantify) Her effect on the performance of the team now that they are in tune is spectacular. She plays the game the way i enjoyed in my youth, five players playing in unison for each other, no egos.

      Thank you David for recognizing and appreciating Caitlin Clark's style and positive impact on basketball in general. It's understandable that you would find the hatred, and vitiol directed at her a little bewildering. Unfortunately, much of it is a direct result of racism. Add to that, jealousy, envy, religion, and sexual orientation. The league is predominantly Black, and lesbian. Almost all of the best players in their 29 year history have been one or the other, or both. Because Caitlin Clark is straight, White, and Catholic, she doesn't fit in with the majority of the crowd. Add to that, her unprecedented endorsement deals, and the jealousy, and envy comes into play. Her popularity and notoriety are an anomaly in women's basketball, and women's sports. Her skills and playing style speaks for itself. It's must see TV. While the league has been floundering since it's inception, she has brought millions of new fans to the league. Overnight, she made women's basketball relevant. The game has always been asthetically boring. Her style is modern, exciting, and generational. It's box office. As entertaining as she is on the court, she is even more compelling off the court. She exemplifies what a celebrity athlete should be. She is humble, gracious, kind, unselfish, generous, well mannered, and eloquently spoken. When her haters denigrate her, she responds by praising them. When they win, she defers all the credit to her teammates. When they lose, she takes full accountability. In her off time she champions children's charities, and visits children's hospitals. She loves children. She stated that she was once that little kid that looked up to the legends of the game, and that they inspired her dreams to become a basketball player. While many of the other players spend time self aggrandizing themselves, she is at the gym, or doing charity work. All the while remaining quiet, and humble. Rather than looking to her as an example to learn, and better themselves, they elect to be spiteful instead. Skilled, humble, and classy, apparently is very marketable, and likable. Rather than emulating what actually works, the haters can't get out of their own way. She has shown them the simple blueprint for success. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Despite the unreasonable hate, she is directly responsible for all the auxiliary financial growth and benefits that the league is currently experiencing. Benefits that are going to increase everyones portfolio. Rather than being grateful, they instead choose to be angry and venomous. Her only crimes are that she is White, straight, humble, and classy.

      @@Mel-dd1ce thank you for taking the time to provide an explanation, it’s much appreciated. Now that it has been explained i find that i am even more irritated and sad that people can be so unkind and venal. I’ve played aggressive sports involving serious contact with other players, if it’s in the laws of the game then you accept it. However when I played basketball in school and college it was deemed a non contact sport, meaning that no deliberate contact was acceptable. Yet here we are with it’s an aggressive game and you have to accept roughhouse treatment. Sadly there are some spectators who want and expect ‘rough’ treatment in their game. I, unashamedly, want to return to a game of skill and team work. I know trash talking and posturing are part of the modern game in the States, even in junior leagues, not for me, sorry!

    This is what Magic and Bird gave to the NBA, aside from their rivalry. The PASSING! This got their teammates involved and made everyone around them better. Haters better wake up. Even without the efficient scoring (which will come), by involving her teammates, CC made the Fever not only dangerous but I believe can go deep in the playoffs. The win against the SUN shows their resiliency and now they know they can win those close, physical and pressure packed games.

    If the Fever overtake the Aces, Caitlin will have to seriously be considered for MVP. Even if they come within a game or two. If they somehow outlast the Aces in the playoffs, she could win it. From cellar dwellers to playoff contenders is a strong statement. Wilson is on a stacked team, and takes considerably more shots per game. And yet, they are struggling against much lower standing teams. It doesn't look like she is making her teammates better. Caitlin doesn't score as much, because she takes far fewer shots. As a floor general, she has her team running and hustling, and involving them all into the flow of the game. She rewards them with unselfish passes. Her very nature is to build confidence and team chemistry. She doesn't denigrate anybody, ever. She praises her teammates at every opportunity, and takes full accountability when they don't perform well. The Fever look like a team that's rejuvenated, inspired, and on a mission. They look like a cohesive, happy unit. They seem to understand their roles, and are embracing the challenges ahead of them. Even coach Sides seems to be learning and adapting to the chemistry of her team. The Olympic break was a very timely reprieve for them. They got a much deserved rest, and some quality practices under their belt. Rooting for them Friday against the Sky. Go Fever! Play hard, and keep improving.

    Caitlin's behind the back pass to Aliyah blew my mind, and then I died laughing at the look on Carrington's face as she wondered where in the hell the ball was. I was wondering if she was related to Wile E. Coyote, because it was the same look that he always had after the Roadrunner watched him face-plant into a canyon wall. The pass and Carrington's reaction was so hilarious that I didn't mind that Aliyah missed her shot after the pass. Comedy Gold!
    Kudos for tossing flowers at Kelsey and Lexie. I loved the post-game interview that Kelsey, Lexie, and Caitlin had after their win.
    Lexie: "I tried to get my hands on as many balls as possible."
    ... pause...
    Caitlin: {{{Starts snickering while Lexie turns beet red as she realizes how it could be interpreted}}}
    Kelsey: {{{Looks like she doesn't know whether to laugh or crawl under the table}}}
    I'm wondering if any of the reporters had to speed-dial their therapists after the interview ended. 🤔

    This is the line up Sides should put out there, Caitlin, Lexie, Kelsey, Temi, and Aliyah. That line up is a fast moving solid line up. The will be able to run and gun, and most of the league cannot keep up with the young legs the Fever have. If you notice on the 2 of the last 3 wins Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, and Caitlin Clark basically ran the other team out of the gym. Aliyah Boston, and Temi Fagbenle are the big's that can clog up the middle, Lexie is also something of a Lock Down defender who will box out for rebounds, same with Temi. So I am seeing the possibility of the Fever and Mercury possibly tying at the end of the season and the Fever hold the tie breaker having swept the Mercury this season.
    If you look at it there is only 1 team left that they haven't defeated in the last few years and that is the Aces and they have 1 game left against them, if successful against them they will have defeated each team higher in the standings and ended the losing streaks against those teams. We will see on September 11th or the 13th, all the need to do is win one of 2 games. I would love to see them win both is it possible one doesn't know but it can happen. No one thought the Fever would be in the position they are in now, having defeated the Liberty, Storm, Lynx, each once and sweeping the Mercury out right.
