- While most associate Carlos Marcello with the French Quarter and New Orleans, Ron Rawson shows that his base of operations and his roots lie on the West Bank of the Mississippi. Everything in this area revolves around this great river. We start at Mosca's Carlos Marcello's favorite restaurant.

One of them is buried at church hill farms 😂, my dad and his friend booey found the body, put a stick into a raised impression and pulled up a piece of shirt.
Marcello was a very powerful mafia boss at a national level.

That was good Gary
Thanks for the information & I enjoyed your video.
Marcello used to come eat at my father's grandmother's house before I was born, in the 9th Ward, which was mostly white back then. Marcello's underlings tried to get my father to join forces w/ them, but my father's aunts wouldn't allow it. In retrospect, that's probably a good thing, as I may never have been born otherwise.
Great story thanks!
I think the goat guy is most likely carlos' younger brother sammy. I remember reading a brief account of him somewhere in my research that mentioned he was a bit of an oddball that enjoyed raising the goats at the farm and that they gave up trying to plant any vegetables or anything there bc he'd let the goats out to roam and theyd inevitably find the garden and eat it up. That first picture where the ducks and single goat are in the background is almost certainly him based on comparison to a verified picture of him you can find on Google where he's at the airport with Carlos' wife and daughter after he was deported.
Good chance that Sammy enjoyed goat as well but Carlos def. had a thing for BBQ goat. What picture are you referring to?
Ah, see the pic you're referring to. From the profile he does resemble Sammy at that time a bit but it's not Sammy.
My dad built a hunting camp in the back
Are you familiar with any Italian families from lafitte la ? Cocharios, ochellos, favaloros , do you know any history of anyone involved in lafitte area ?
I'm sure there was activity in the area, especially in gambling but sorry no, have never heard any specific info on the area and none of those names are familiar to me. If you have any specific info please pass it on to me and I can put some questions out there to see what pops up.
Better call ahead ..they really prefer 4 or more ...take cash or use the ATM owned by a MARCELLO family member .
Good advice thank you
@@GaryJenkinsMafiaDetective I'm under no false pretences about GARY JENKINS..he woulda tried to arrest me back in the early 1990$
@@Roma_remodelers maybe you have a great story for the podcast?
Oysters.... delicious several ways ..
Sounds like you have been there. I missed out.
@@Roma_remodelers I find that money is green no matter who is spending it. Plus I never had a real mob guy dis me in any manner.
My dad worked for the mafia. He was in prison with Mr. Carlos.
Thanks for your comment
Interesting..I only met CM one time..about a yr before he passed..he wasn't getting out much by then..
The New Orleans family just died out. They never made any new members, according to Sammy Gravano. Sammy said the guy that followed Marcello said he had only 8 made guys under him, and he wasn't planning on making anyone else. Same can be said of the Tampa Bay family as well.
Once Carlos went away, the political landscape changed and even though some guys were still around, without the connections what little was left slowly faded away. There were still guys around, even recently (last 10 years), but very small in comparison. I’m surprised Sammy the Rat even knows anything about how it was down here. Most of what he spews is lies.
Carlos made very few guys. Certainly not enough to replenish the ranks as the older guys died off. The rumor is that what's left of the traditional Mob Family isn't much more than a street crew.
I've heard it suggested that he acquired so much wealth and assets he wanted his family to go full legit which maybe is true and if so I guess he still couldn't resist that itch for easy cash when brilab got him
The new Orleans family still exist though it's more of a crew I believe the Colombo's have interest in new Orleans.there I'd a guy named Michael tufaro who's attempting to rebuild the family it can be found on the internet though it's obscure.
