Rammstein are known for their double meanings in songs..
Love that it's kinda rebellious and poetic simultaneously..

the bands name goes back to a tragic air show desaster with 70 dead and 1000 injured people. also a very nice word play, isn't it? and lindemann was even too stupid to write it correctly, so they ended up with two m

@@soleywolfgangsdottir If you really would know the band, then you would know, that the idea came from Paul and Flake! And yes, it was the Ramstein Air Base in 1988. They dedicate their song Rammstein to the victim of the tragedy. And "Rammstein" is also a word, wich translates to "ramming stone". They do exist on German streets. But haters will always hate and will never get, that in 30 years they are forgotten, while Rammstein is already a living legend! Get lost stupid human! You are not less stupid, then your stupid comment and now report me, because that is all, what people like you can do. Bye.

Well in German "-los" as a suffix has not the exactly same meaning than the English suffix "-less" although words with those suffixes in German and in English are translated as such.
Because the suffix "-los" basically literally describes straight and bluntly "without"/or "got lost"/"is completely gone"... while the suffix "-less" describes basically according to the use of the term "less" = "not as much" - or - "barly left/almost without"
What I mean is for instance:
the word "hopeless" is literally describing according to the meaning of the word "less" = "there is not as much hope left/just barly hope left" while the German equivalent word "hoffungslos" which is the used literal translation for "hopeless" actually literally describes "there is no hope at all in the first place" - or depending on the context - "there is no hope at all anymore" ...at that is valid for every term with the suffix "-los"
It might be that an English speaker uses "hopeless" for describing that there is no hope but the word itself clearly doesn´t tell it that way but is letting a glimpse of hope left because of the use of "less"..But the German language does not make that sort of compromise in order "to beat around the bush" but beats the bush hard so to say ;-D
When "Los" is no suffix but a word of its own the meaning is completely different..and describes basically kinda "a state of being unleashed" and is then used as a command to "start something" as like as in English saying "Go!!!" and is then a germanic cognate word of the English term "loose" in the sense of "not fixed" or "gone"

I love this Song because it really describes the hardships this Band had to overcome, to get the respect they deserve in Germany, because this country, like all others, is full of grudgers and tasteless critics. And yes the translation of the word los as less is really horrible. In the context of this song it means GO!. Like in 'Achtung, Fertig, LOS!!!' meaning 'ready, set, go!'.

    Great Song! 👍
"Los" and "Dalai Lama" from the same Album are among my favourites, along with many other Songs!
Anyway, I really like the quieter Rammstein Songs, I don't need a brute wall of Guitars all the Time!
And to be honest, they're not exactly cosy Songs either!
The left-infested press in Germany didn't like Rammstein from the beginning, for them they were right-wingers (Nazis)
This Shows once again how stupid and dangerous left-wing ideologues are!
I like your Rammstein reactions, you can tell that you like their Music and Lyrics, which are profound and sometimes shocking, certainly worth looking into, and honestly, anyone with more than one Brain Cell realises that Rammstein is not a clumsy Band that wants to proselytise politically or anything else!
For me they are neither Left nor Right, if they are then they are socially critical, "cheeky", shameless, like to deal with the Dark emotional World of the Human.
And what they are also not is moral or hypocritical!
    Well, whatever
    Greetings from Germany
    Michael
