S5 of BTVS was outstanding leading towards a stunning Season Finale. We start off with a 'tongue in cheek' stand alone episode with Buffy V Dracula. Some great comedy moments again with Xander getting all the best lines in his homage to 'Renfield' as a 'spider eating man bitch'. Spike is brilliantly unimpressed by Dracula, and of course we get introduced to Dawn in the strange ending. In the dream sequence in S4 when Faith and Buffy are making the bed, Faith says 'little sis is coming' the foreshadowing there to Dawn's arrival as a pivotal character in the Season.
I remember being convinced that Dawn was an amazingly powerful demon with mind control powers. Have to say that the reaction to Dawn is one of my favourite moments in a reactors Buffy journey.

Lol, replay the scene again. I'm sure it'll make sense this time. 🤣 But seriously, you don't remember when Buffy's sister helped defeat the mayor with the gang??
Right. I always felt she was being eclipsed by the other characters in the early seasons. She did have a few good lines, that time she caught Buffy sneaking back into the house through the window.
@@blimfark875 I always liked her snuggling up with Buffy and Joyce at the finale of Innocence and kicking Ted's wreckage in the head as Xander and Giles drag it away.

Yes, the great thing is that you can immediately do a re-watch, which I recommend. and then continue to re-watch it at least every year after that. For years you will possibly see things you didn't notice before, see things in a different light, appreciate things that you didn't. But mostly you will spend time with these characters, and that is always a good thing. I believe laughter is healing and it strengthens the body, boosts the immune system. And besides the action, drama, love, fights, the humor is so good. But for now, new episode goodness for a while~!
I can't believe you don't remember all the classic moments with Buffy's sister. Don't you remember when she pushed that guy into the hyena enclosure and when she pressed the button that set off the explosives that took out the Mayor? Those are just two of the many classic sister episodes!
Just subscribed. Nobody really ever understood why Buffy was so important to me. Especially this season on. You. Obviously. Do! Also I never noticed this, but just before Buffy says "Mom" you can see a look of temporary confusion and processing going on with her - just a split second. Then it's done, she's accepted the new reality. That is brilliant writing or acting or both! Just watch that split second and you'll see. Thank you bunches.
Episodes like this make me wish more reactors would watch and post one episode at a time. Because the few that do it are fun to torment when they reach this point.
Vampires with powers so far have been Dracula, The Master, Drusilla, & Balthazar (Back in season 3, Weasley's first episode, was looking for his amulet) I believe that is about it.
youtube is so irritating. when i see a video recommendation for a series like this, the first thing i do is click the channel so i can make sure i didn't miss a previous one. then i get there... and this video isn't there, and i have to go back. bleh.
The end of this episode on viewing reactions almost always takes a backseat to the actual episode itself. Great reaction to Dracula introducing himself. Eerily similar to Buffy's reaction. Riley being Jealous isn't new. That was triggered by Xander telling him about Angel in _The Yoko Factor._ This is just Riley carrying on his jealousy issues even though Dracula is just using his "showy gypsy stuff" aka his powers on Buffy. Not a good reason for jealousy. If anything Buffy has more of a right to be jealous that he called Dracula's wives, "Dracu-babes." And even that would be a flimsy excuse for jealousy. The Master and Drusilla had a bit of those powers also with being able to use a thrall, so it isn't "weird" so much as rare for vampires to have them. I find it odd when people say Dracula in this episode is "campy" etc. because Dracula is campy/etc. in all of his character's incarnations. Joyce thinking Dracula was normal shows her taste in men. 😁

@@MrLorenzovanmatterho To be fair, she didn't get a lot of screen time, and what she did get was only B or C plot stuff. Way underutilized imho.
Be back before Dawn ;)
I remember being convinced that Dawn was an amazingly powerful demon with mind control powers.
Have to say that the reaction to Dawn is one of my favourite moments in a reactors Buffy journey.
Dude, spoilers.
Did you think that all the way back in season one, or was it a later thought?
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 The Infocard says she is at episode 12 on patreon. So i think no spoilers for Sofie.
Drusilla also had special powers. She was able to hypnotize Kendra.
And Giles!
I only started watching BUffy from the finale of season 3. So when they showed the sister, I was like, oh ok.
I always enjoy seeing the "WTF" moment from 5x01. :D
Having watched buffy when it first aird, and rewatching several times, at 54 I still see things I missed, queues to future episodes.
Awww, this is where you meet... Nope, no spoilers! Great reaction! I remember having that same look on my face. Priceless!
I love how Everyone who have Ever seen this endning, reacted Exactly like This!
Did she really not know about the sister storyline she watched the ending 4 times 😂 I am loving reactions to season 5 I watched Buffy back in the 90s I did not have a rewind button 😂 I’m old
Lol, replay the scene again. I'm sure it'll make sense this time. 🤣
But seriously, you don't remember when Buffy's sister helped defeat the mayor with the gang??
About time Dawn got some screen-time, after bit parts in the series for 5 years she finally gets some dialogue.
When I watched this back in the day the internet was still kind of in it's infancy so I couldn't just google it. Was so confused and thought I had missed a show
Wow, I do love your reactions but the end of this episode you made my night. Watching it and rewatching it was priceless. I know it's Topsy turvy!!
"Turvy-topsy", to quote Willow in "Pangs".
It's nice to see Dawn visible again. It was a real drag back in season 1 when the elementary school kids all ignored her and she became invisible for a few years.
I think you're mixing that up with Willow's sister. Buffy's sister was living with her dad during seasons 3 and 4.
When dawn showed up I had to rewatch previous episodes I was like “wtf where did she- what-?😭😭”
(Sees the preview picture)🤩🤣(Skips to 16:18 IMMEDIATELY)🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I love how you kept rewatching the scene hoping it would help you to understand what the hell was going on!!!We all went through that phase!!!❣😵
00:43 - 01:06 There's been a glitch in the Matrix!😵
02:16 - 03:07 You freaking out over characters added to the credits.
10:37 - 10:45 *HEY!* 😡💢Don't you dare,Mr.Bat-Boy!🦇
OK...time to re-watch your AWESOME reaction to Dawn...!!!😂😂😂😂17:56 - 18:00 That movement you made, like you were *seriously* expecting something different to happened!!!😂😂
BTW yes,it _was_ mentioned at least twice that Buffy is an only child,by Joyce in ep 3x03:"It's probably good you were an only child."and by Giles in ep 4x02:"Buffy..living with somebody is never easy, expecially for an only child.../"😉
I just loved your face journey at the end there. Don’t know why you’re so surprised though. She’s been in the show since season 1 after all.
Probably because she was living with her Dad during the last two seasons.
@@pillmuncher67 yeah, I guess she forgot that Hank got Dawn and Joyce got Buffy after the divorce.
I can't believe you don't remember all the classic moments with Buffy's sister. Don't you remember when she pushed that guy into the hyena enclosure and when she pressed the button that set off the explosives that took out the Mayor? Those are just two of the many classic sister episodes!
LOVE the utter confusion!! You'll get there...
As a long-time BtVS fan, your reaction was priceless.
I remember when they first introduced Don in the pilot episode she tried to sneak off with Buffy to high school with her
17:36 That look. Priceless.
Didn't Faith say in one of Buffy's dreams 'little sister's coming'? The signs were there!
Thank you bunches.
ah yes that ending with Dawn...all will be revealed in time. but i do remember this confused people so badly at the time.
Welcome to season 5
Episodes like this make me wish more reactors would watch and post one episode at a time. Because the few that do it are fun to torment when they reach this point.
Lmao you look betrayed! I remember watching this live when it aired. No rewind, no explanation, waiting a week to figure out if i just made it up.
Sarah Michelle gellar looks way older in this season just cos she turned 23. It's like Melissa Joan Hart in Season 5 of Sabrina.
wait, they are not the same? (I know that, but I like adding sugar to the drama.)
The best season of Buffy is started!!!!
Vampires with powers so far have been Dracula, The Master, Drusilla, & Balthazar (Back in season 3, Weasley's first episode, was looking for his amulet) I believe that is about it.
The definition of stun locked
Your "I'm more than half way through Buffy" comment is so on point. But you're only 5 seasons into 12 of B&A combined!
What's the confusion?.. You don't remember Buffy has a sister?.. Granted she isn't in the credits, but she's been there this entire time.
You and the ENTIRE fandom at the time :-) kerk
When you're so early it doesnt even show on recent videos.
youtube is so irritating. when i see a video recommendation for a series like this, the first thing i do is click the channel so i can make sure i didn't miss a previous one. then i get there... and this video isn't there, and i have to go back. bleh.
@@sirmoonslosthismind 😂😂 felt that
The end of this episode on viewing reactions almost always takes a backseat to the actual episode itself.
I know you said this is not a fan favorite season but it is my favorite season.
she was talking about season four not being a fan-favorite season. nobody dislikes season five.
@@sirmoonslosthismind ok, thanks. Season 4 started out strong and might have ended up being great except for the two people that asked to be let out of their contracts which changed the story dramatically.
The look on every confused buffy fans face when Dawn finally arrives.
except for those who watch it on tv and not in the right order and have been wondering where is her sister going to show up...
