What a SHAME to tear this gorgeous solidly built house with so much character down. Why? Because a pipe burst? That damage can be relatively easily fixed. If you have the money to buy the property and rebuild something else, you can fix this place up just as well. People are so dm wasteful.
I could be wrong but I was thinking the intent was to get rid of the house in order to put their own vision on the property…. So they just turned off the heating system with out a second thought. That is when the pipes burst.
@@brucebeamon5460 Thats exactly it. Bigger homes such as that one tend to be personalized to an extent, and it would be more likely for people to want to build their own rather than live in someone elses creation.
If they feel the need to build a custom home they should buy an empty lot. There are many potential buyers out there that would love to have this home just the way it is.
@@francoamerican4632 its about location. and the neighborhood. the house had too much mold already. so if maybe they wanted to modernized it. the only thing i didnt like about this home, its their ceilings. too low
First time I’ve ever wondered who the architect was that built a home/Mansion they must be turning in their grave with disgust …. It ( to Me ) is considered an ABOMINATION that THIS property is headed into demolition … WHY did the person that bought the property HAVE to use this site for whatever they plain to put here … I’m certain it will not compare to this.
@KevTech1 They should build their dream home in a vacant lot or tear down an existing house that's unremarkable aesthetically/historically. Tearing down an existing home to build a new one is wasteful and unnecessary. That having been said, tearing down the house in this video is justified due to the extensive mold problem. It's unfortunate that the former owners lagged on the upkeep and let it get to such a state of disrepair.
What an Amazing House!! Even in its current condition, it is still beautiful! Architecture, amenities, room count, bathrooms and an amazing kitchen. The Basketball Court, Tennis Court, Pool and Golf areas make this location So Unique! Thank you for sharing this beautiful estate with us. The drone footage, in the beginning and end, add an amazing vantage point to the property. ❤
That long cement "walkway " looks like an old shuffleboard playing surface. They were all over in the fifties and sixties. Nice home. Txs for the video.
Thank you so much for showing this property you do a wonderful job taking us through the rooms. So much thought and planning has gone in to this house it is far too good to demolish it could be made absolutely stunning once again. If developer's have bought it they certainly have no appreciation to the design. Would make a great hotel with all the facilities they have.
It definitely would be a great hotel with everything it has! The person who purchased the property will most likely build their own creation in replacement to this mansion, so at least the property will be put to good use soon!
That home should be saved and restored, or at least stall the development. There’s been to many bad development projects lately and something needs to change.
That thermostat is from the 60’s! I’m getting Greenwich CT or Litchfield Co. The acreage & quality of workmanship. A lot of hedge fund guys bought up there only to tear these great old places down. 😮
Yes, I've seen so many different security ways, but the two sitting spots are where two tall guards stood, eyup. Well so if it's one monarch we put one small building at the front of the drive. If its two monarchs then we put two small buildings, one each side of the front of the driveway.
What kind of income do you have to have to pay for the upkeep alone on this monster? WOW! You would have to have a large family and wouldn’t see family members for days in that place.
What a amazing home but such a terribly sad story behind it rip little angel I hope who ever did it to you gets karma ,prayers to to her mother and father I hope they found little bit of peace and happiness after all that as nobody expects your children to be buried first ❤🙏✝️
This house and history of it I my very favorite abandoned house it so sad about the daughter and mom and dad but the beauty of this place is just awesome such a tragedy that's it's just waisting away with no one to love it I wish it was mine I'd bring it back to life
First room you said was dining room you were right that was the formal dining room then the breakfast nook then the family dining room where the little couch was
I have been tuning in and in most of these mansions I believe when you see two kitchens one usually is a set kitchen and the other a dry kitchen set kitchen is for large meals and entertainment and the dry kitchen slash butlers pantry would be for small meals baking small meal preparation for the family and for entertaining prep veggie trays cheese and cracker trays etc
Yes that could definitely be it! I think the kitchen in the basketball court could have been used for parties and snacks and whatnot while they have guests over.
I wonder why the girl KILLED HERSELF?! Did anyone ever say?! What a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!! I think the Library is my FAVORITE!!!! Although the little girls room is WONDERFUL as well. The person that decorated this place had such TERRIFIC TASTE!!!! All of those LOVELY WINDOWS AND GORGEOUS SHELVES!!!! Yeah, it's INCREDIBLE!!!! But as GREAT as this place is, and it is, if I lost a daughter here, I couldn't stay either!!!!
It definitely was a very sad part of the history of this beautiful property! A lot of times properties like these have tragic reasons for being abandoned. The library was my favorite room too!!
I have seen a lot of abandoned mansions in my career. But there's one thing that you never, ever ever. Do you never disclose? Where this house was at because in 9 times out of 10 it's going to get banned alive. So keep this a secret between you and whoever is with you don't disclose where it's at.
Absolutely, the lack of ventilation is why the basement is in such bad shape! Because of that there is no way around just tearing the building down unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
We buckle the floors at matters of improper tacking concept. Someone else does the ceiling water damage at improper bump stock activty. Why we look at it and say it's really unrepairable, we just know the activty that went on just by looking at it.
that's not a golf course, not even a par 3, its a practice bunker (sand removed) and green, guy was a serious golfer for sure. sad to see the nice grounds go to crap, house decor wasn't great but has much potential. would've done a squash court or jacuzzi spa sauna gym rather than a useless 1/2 basketball court. whats the story with the 2019 owners, they are going to gut and reno the whole place then? will cost millions but worth it. the basement mold was horrendous, needs to be professionally gutted.
Dude, if you're going to give tours of old houses, learn the vernacular. Learn what granite looks like vs. cultured marble. And shelves are generally used for storage, yes.
ur m that pool cover isnt dirty enough to be 5 years, try ckoser to a year max. Parents have a pool and every winter we keep it covered except for two years which my father passed and step mom battled (beat) cancer. That cover was more dirty than that at abandoned mansion
We loved this property. So I recall a different tract of land was purchased for a golf course and then it was put on I think this property and the other tract of land was stolen. The basketball court was a movie room. Prior to that I beleive it was a little ADU concept. That like the property maintenance person lived at. But when issues of safety became a matter it was built out to be a space that can accommodate for a few days in matters of safety. At the time I dont recall any neighbors but with some families only one person had a really nice home and the space could accommodate shelting a few people. Then a person who was sent on matters of safety a Swiss concept as usual did modifications to make it more nicer and not properly safe concept. When built out the concept was we could shelter for a week with people and have enough ration storage to do so. Well, then terroists showed up on matters of rations. Then a differnt terrorist did more modifications to make it uber nice party friendly. It's just retarded what ongoes. The space where he called it a guest house I beleive was where the equine lived and they trained in the space where it looks like a tennis court. It was a beautiful place and very average at approach to maintain privacy.
Fifty cents say's it gets sold again in even worse condition from lack of maintenance in just a few years . Taxes and no rental income and people are running like hell away from the democrat States ? I Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole . Just like Michael Jordans old house . Those states have got to get their property taxes down to earth . We're all tired of payying for them and their uninvited guest all the time .

That indoor basketball court is amazing. Who wouldn’t want to work out in the gym area?! Great Video.

A great find! You did a good property walk thru, and inspire thoughts of what living here could have been like.

Incredible it is abandoned, and let all this mold to grow
For an old building, likely went through lots of renovations
Great find

This mansion is so huge, what a luxurious inside here, very nice.
That home should be saved and restored, or at least stall the development. There’s been to many bad development projects lately and something needs to change.
I think the basketball court building might be saved while the rest goes to rubble. At least a bit of it will be preserved.
