I love the stooges when it comes to Shemp. It was honestly elite.
They sang very well. How did they not crack up twords the end when Edd Wynn stacked them up? Lol you gotta look closely but Shemp was smiling 😂
I was about to say that too. I don't know how he held back his laughter. R.I.P. The Three Stooges.
Didn't think Larry would do the bass bomps.
They sound great. My grandfather and Uncle and Dad sang those old songs. He played spoons like Curly
I remember seeing the full version of this appearance on an old Stooges VHS box set
I still have the VHS of this exact scene from Edd Wynn & 3 Stooges my father bought for me in 1999 also 2:15 did singing part for song back in third grade in elementary school everybody laughing & clapping must did good .
Man it must’ve seemed nice for you father to perform it but apparently for us the stooges makes us laugh take for example myself and others including my mom’s and dad’s side even though they were bright comedy they always best with their slapstick comedy
They could really sing !! I just love the Three Stooges!! I grew up watching them ,my son and I watch them on Saturday night 5 to 7 on ME tv .
This is Fantastic!😄👍
Some of the brightest humor is also some of the darkest.
...But as I said elsewhere, I genuinely love when the Stooges harmonize.
thank you so much, Brad! this is legendary!! everything you share involving the Stooges is gold!! ❤
It is nice to see the whole clip.
Saw this years ago, I still love this😊❤!
This is wonderful!
My heart is smiling 🥰
This was great! Thanks for sharing Curly G!
XD never get old
Ed Wynn is largely forgotten today, aside from Twilight Zone appearances. His son, Keenan Wynn remembered more for The Great Race and various Disney movies...I know these guys weren't very tall, still surprised how much Shemp and Curly tower over Moe and Larry!
Although he would last in to the mid 60’s before he died on June 19, 1966. Ironically, that same day was Moe’s birthday! And he was 69!(thats what my calculator says) but hey nothing beats the stooges
Thank you for sharing this one Brad, looks awesome.😊
This is terrific! Love the Stooges! My fav is Shemp. Did Curly join after? You remind me sooooo much of Curly!
Shemp was one of the originals. Ted Healy and his Stooges.
Shemp was a stooge with Ted Healy from 1923 to 1925, then from 1926 to 1928, then returned in 1928 to 1930.
Moe was with Healy from 1923 to 1925, then 1929 to 1930.
Larry was with Healy from 1928 to 1930.
There were many other stooges during those years.
In 1930, Howard, Fine and Howard left Healy to own their own act. Shemp, not Moe, was the leader.
In 1932 Howard, Fine and Howard returned to Healy's act. Shemp left to be on his own in 1932. Curly joined soon after (but was not Shemp's immediate replacement). When Shemp left, Larry took on his gags in the act, but Moe took his stage persona of the tough stooge who slapped the others after being slapped by Healy.
In 1934 Moe, Larry and Curly left Healy for the last time, and became "The Three Stooges."
Curly became disabled by a stroke in 1946 and ended his career. He subsequently died in 1952.
Shemp, who had had a satisfying, if not wildly successful, career on his own since 1932, replaced Curly in 1946 to keep Moe and Larry employed. Shemp died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1955.
Columbia Pictures and Moe agreed on Joe Besser as the new third stooge in 1956. He made short subjects with them through 1957, when Columbia shut down short subject production. The shorts with Besser were released to theaters until 1959.
In late 1958 Moe and Larry wanted to go back on the road as a live act. They hired Joe DeRita to be the third stooge. Around the same time, Columbia syndicated most of the shorts starring Curly to television. Suddenly, the Stooges were in hot demand for live appearances. Their renewed popularity also led to a series of inexpensive (and one strangely lavish) movies for the kiddie market on Saturday double-features. Moe, Larry and Curly-Joe DeRita continued as The Three Stooges until Larry also suffered a debilitating stroke in 1970. Although there was talk of continuing with Emil Sitka in Larry's place, the Stooges had no more jobs after Larry's stroke.
