Yep, we’re in it deep, but fifty percent doesn’t have clue. Not enough adults left in the room.
If you're selling firewood at the same price as last year, you're losing 25%! Remember... three and one half years ago gas was $1.86 here; Now it's $3.44. That's 84% inflation, and all the press media is still trying to tell us that it's good.
Gas was $2 in 2004. So 75% increase over 20 years. In 1994 gas was $1, that’s 100% increase in 10 years 2004.
Isn't this according to the Biden regime 😱😱😱
@@joewood1013so you are glossing over the $4.00/gallon gas during Obamas reign of racism?
because the inflation rate has come down. the problem is that business has not reduced the price to reflect how inflation has come down. It's not inflation it is GREED from business!!
Isn’t inflation published as month over month and never year over year? Because the real inflation would literally get people rioting in the streets?
Oh, and under Trump I filled my 42 gal tank for $97. Now, it’s $180. That’s not 7% inflation or whatever Biden is lying about.
You and I are realists. You’re right on target. TERM LIMITS AND NO LOBBYISTS AT THE FEDERAL CONGRESSIONAL (House and Senate) LEVEL will be a good start.
Our problems are not term limits or anything specific about the structure of government. Our problem is in our hearts.
don't forget the Supreme courts nut jobs!! Those folks like Thomas and his actively taking MONEY for etc etc etc. YIKES!!
Most people don't even know who started the IRS and Federal Reserve Bank with the creatures from Jekyll Island ! He also headed the KKK! Woodrow Wilson worst President in our history
The problem with term limits is the newbie politicians get influenced by their peers, donors, and lobbyists. Then probably Political Action Committees (PACs). There is legal corruption where politicians on both sides of the aisle partake and are influenced by all three I mentioned above. They represent their interests not their constituents unless they are a big donor.
A huge problem is bureaucracies. Congress is the only body allowed to make law. It's unlawful for them to give 'authority' to non-elected officials. So all of those gov systems need to be dismantled and a federal crime to make or grant any of them power; punishable by The same means as crimes against humanity because that's exactly what it is and has been.
Mike...
You're one smart dude ! I can't help but think that whatever the future holds, you and Melissa and family will fare better than most simply due to your "6th sense" ! God bless you and yours !!!
Mike if you want a real judge of how things are. Go look at shopping carts in the grocery store. Most have just the essentials with a few other items. That’s how most are living.
It's amazing how items at the grocery are ALL on sale and yet cost more than they did a month ago 🤔🤔🤔
People are scared and in denial. I agree with you 100 percent.
They still refuse to admit they made a mistake.
Welcome to the end game of the "Fundamental Transformation of America." October 30, 2008~Barack Obama.
Actually most of these people are not in touch with reality. Dealing with fantasyland with all this electric stuff etc. etc. raising wages . Trying to use wind etc.
Mike, I think your key phrase, or at least the one that really got my attention was, "being honest with yourself".
Thank you Mike for saying my name. The bird nest maybe blew off in your storm. You make splitting those round look easy. The out look for this country is not good.
That care and be safe
Hey Mike..enjoy that sandwich. I agree with you on the dollar and the value of having all of your ducks in a row.
Good morning,Mike and family!!
You are spot-on with your observations.Current conditions only reinforce my longstanding view that our system is too broken to fix.
Hopefully try to control it would be better. Can't fix stupid and God knows this present administration is top of its class in that department 😱😱😱
I still notice a lot of businesses closing. A rental business I have frequented for about 50 years has just closed and auctioning all their equipment today. A tire store I drive by has been torn down in the last 2 weeks.
I liked your captain analogy.
This the worst economy since the great depression..I would hate to be raising kids these days.
@@hugostiglitz8465 All good points. Plus Mike has some of the nicest firewood out there. We don't have many oak trees. Mostly cherry and maple on our end of the state.
Good Saturday morning Morgan family! Beautiful morning here in SE PA. Morning full of kids’ sports followed by some projects this afternoon. (Hopefully) Have a great weekend.
Good morning Mike and Melissa. Always enjoy watching your machine at work. Your observation of how things are going is spot on and loved your analogy about the ship..
Melissa's hoagie recipe sounds like an air fryer delight. As far as current events go, some people have trouble "seeing" what they see. That's unfortunate.
Yep. Can't see the forest for the trees.
Thanks for coming out to help, Melissa 💖 The joke should go "I heard _he_ was possessed with an owl..." then the person will say "Who?" then you say "Apparently, YOU." 😂😋
You are not wrong. Firewood is something that people always need
Mike, another excellent video and can’t wait for Melissa to show how to make those subs she had my mouth watering when she was describing it 👍😮😊❤
I love a quiet Saturday morning with a great cup of coffee and watching Mike operating equipment....for the life of me I don't know why, but it is so enjoyable. Thanks Mike. Stay healthy, stay safe! Steve in Calgary
Me too !!!!
Watching Mike run that excavator reminds me of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
Yeah- THAT'S how old I am...
@@stevecraig3004 I also.
I wanna watch him eat that sandwich!!!!
Invest in copper...lead...and brass...precious metals and you will be fine.🎯👍
Definitely a wise move minimizing any further vehicle expenses as long as you have some other good options to keep your business model active. The dump trailer is a great option. Thanks for the video.
You’re on the right track. We need to hold tight and maximize our resources. This will pass eventually- good or bad. Take a look at fixing Blueford up to either use or move on to the next person. You could put power steering and higher sides on the Highboy. There’s a lot of options available with your fleet!
I mentioned that idea quite some time ago. Mike loves driving it. with a tip body, towing the tip-trailer?
Good Morning Morgan Family 🌞- Have a Fantastic and Blessed Day 🤠. Your spot on Mike. I think we’ve already hit the iceberg and we’re taking on water.
Yup, the worst leaks are the slow ones that you can't easily see.
Spot on Mike, this country is in big trouble, glad you got the balls to tell it like it is
Mike, you are one of the few that will even talk about the REAL State of the Union. I'm with you buddy. Yes, hold off on any vehicle purchase for now. Greetings from the Old Jarhead in WNC. (love talking with you)
Your gut feeling about things not going well is spot on. I have been saving like crazy the many years to take advantage of when things become panic sold and more attractively priced. Stock up and be prepared to take advantage of the opportunity.
Most of us don't need to look anything up; fuel and food prices alone tell us all we need to know. Challenging, concerning time. Agreed about white oak, Mike. Best firewood we have up our way as well. Takes longer to dry than some, but on a cold night, you can't beat it. Much respect for you guys' work ethic, and thank you for the great videos.
I sure got a tickle out of the thumbnail for the video. My first thought was “Melissa must be practicing poses for the magazine cover of Lumberjack Quarterly”. Another great informative show. Thank you!
I love hearing your thoughts and opinions on the State of things. You are a clear, level headed guy and never get deep into nonsense, just straightforward and factual. Just stating the obvious. If you deliver up here in Austintown Ohio I'd buy firewood from ya. You could drop it right here at Cowman Ranch, that's my small farm up here. We are a bobcat farm tho, aka the good brand. 🤣 🤣 Good stuff.
Your spot on about the situation we're in , the hole has been dug too deep already
I've seen where birds build nests between rafters in a building, and end up with 3 or 4 nests all partly finished, all right next to each other. I can imagine a bird returning with some sticks and thinking: " I was sure I had more done than this!!" 😂😂. Maybe your 5 minute windstorm blew it down.
Love the subs, but those peppers, whew. They give me the hurtin' burps.
Mike the president was in Syracuse on Thursday and gave Micron 6.some billion dollars to build in central New York and you're right about the economy and the way things are headed.
The problem is he is giving money away the country doesnt have ! THE COUNTRY SADLY IS BEYOND BROKE !!! 4.5 million people work for the federal government !! Why is government so BIG !!!
Mike , how about taking you old dump truck and pick up and have some one fix it all up nice and pretty, cherry it out to speak less cost and something that can be easily worked on.
💯 % correct Mike and those who say not are just deniers. Enjoyed the show this morning. My wife can watch with me on Saturdays and it's nice.
Mike I agree on oak firewood. I don't know how the early settlers out west cut and split enough wood to stay warm for the winter with soft woods
They cut a lot of it…..
They stayed in much smaller houses, too.
Love your comments. Don’t back down. Thanks Mike…. JimnJudy in Texas
Good Morning Morgan's from sunny Prince Edward Island Canada 🇨🇦. A great day to bring out the patio furniture and put the snow blower away.
Are you sure.... mother nature has been playing games with us in Ontario....

Hello PEI from BC !!!
@peteatthefarm4459 Oh I know, I'm not putting away my shovel just yet.
Funny you should mention that, I just brought my snow blower to my camp yesterday to store it until November.
Fairly quiet in NH this week. No bad storms or power outages. Waiting for it to warm up a little. Low 30’s every morning. Got the garden roto-tilled though.
Good morning Morgan's and friends!!! Have a great weekend y'all !!!
Thankyou Mike, I’ve been feeling the EXACT same way for awhile now!
Good Morning Mike&Melissa and Family!!
Very Nice Firewood you Are Producing!!
So Nice To See Melissa Pop In And Say Hi !!
Think You Are Right Mike Time To Tighten Up On The Spending!!

Nothing better than making them manageable. Had a giant red oak taken down and the rounds were 48” across. Had to make 4 cuts across the face about 3” deep just to hold the wedges from popping out. Gotta tell ya, I’m too old for that crap!!!!!
Mike, you make that split force job look pretty easy, I know it's not easy. Put Melissa in that seat and people will see what I mean. Good job Mike!! Have a day!! Jay from Pa
Bunker is a fantastic idea! 😊
Nice video, thanks for the.
Melissa: And Mike… (uuugh) he puts… mayonnaise on his.
Mike: Nuthin wrong with that.
Love the field work, but those little interactions whether a Mayo head-butt or Mike’s unpredictable compliments to Melissa that makes the show so real. YES, you guys have a show. It’s not on HGTV or Discovery, but we tune in every other day or so to see what’s going on at the Morgan compound.
Coming up for lunch today. I especially like the sound effects of the meat landing on the bread 😂
Spot on Mike! We are trying to hunkerdown the best we can on our little homestead. Trying to put all your lesson's to work to try to save us as much money as possible. Thanks for the lessons. Have a great weekend.
Good morning to The Morgan family Looks like a beautiful day on the horizon Hope Y'all have a great weekend God bless
The words you speak are soooooooo true. Love your videos. God Bless our country.
Right there with ya Mike! Keep making the impulse stops at Bass Pro! Keep the vids coming they are enjoyable.
Mike, the "fixed up" Blue Ford dump truck may be a viable alternative. What would it cost to make it pass inspection and be roadworthy? Bet it is a LOT, LOT less than the new one you showed us? C&C Equipment, C&C Surplus on RUclips could do "wonders" with that restoration.
Hi mike & family
Some people are upset with their choices and don’t want to admit it!
Just pay any bill! Purchase anything Get any service done to know things are not going in the right direction!
And the Sad thing is about Ford’s is that they are only worth 25% of what the sticker price is. And people pay these ridiculous price’s. I retired as a Master Tech 10 year’s ago and I am so glad we sold all our newer cars and truck’s and bought Classic’s easy to maintain and very economical when it comes to the part price’s. So our arsenal consists of a 1978 F-350 crew 4x4 for our work horse it was completely restored and I paid $55,000 for it crate motor and heavy duty crate Transmission and I put it on my lift and coated it with Fluid Film to protect it from Ohio weather. All our Vehicles have been coated with Fluid Film for the last 15 year’s since I found this product. Wife drives a 1966 Mustang fastback all restored crate motor and transmission and my daily is a 1970 Chevelle SS all restored and both car’s have had modern suspension and electronics and I paid $42,000 for the Mustang and $61,000 for the Chevelle and the only older vehicles we kept for Winter Grocery getter’s is a 367,000 mile 2003 Toyota 4Runner and a 2007 207,000 mile Wrangler 4door my wife’s favorite for winter. I love the 4Runner for the winter. 🤘🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Very Cool 😎
I'm a retired automotive, truck and off-road equipment mechanic. Last week I had to help the kid out by putting a thermostat in his 2017 GMC Acadia. The dealer wanted $1500.00. You have to remove the intake manifold and all kinds of other things. After finishing the job and thinking about the fact that I drive a new Sierra pickup that doesn't even have a dipstick for the transmission, a light bulb went off in my head. I decided to do exactly what you have done. I going to start looking for a 1970's truck, restore it and make that my daily driver. That way, if my thermostat goes bad, I pull over, take out 2 bolts, throw the thermostat away and get back on the road. No more emission inspections, cheaper insurance, easier to fix and more fun to drive.

That kind of sub sandwich would be nice on a winter day done in the shop with the wood stove going
Those people who get agrivated with your comments are the same ones who run to the store and buy milk, eggs and bread when a bad storm is in the area. Or when a rush at the store from covid happens. They are the ones who are never prepared but thinks we should all share.
Building a bunker is actually a great idea. If I could afford to, I would. One thing Mike: if you decide to build one, don't film it and don't tell us. Stay safe.
Mike, as usual, spot on…I was thinking about the 115k per second and watching the fancy F150 priced at that amount…falling off the Baltimore bridge… at 60 vehicles per minute….filling up the entire harbor…. Maybe something visually like that would help people get the picture…. Ahhh never mind…. Everything is perfectly fine….
My mouth was watering when you were talking about the sub. It sounds so good. I’m going to have to try that. Looking forward to seeing the video. Umm
The easiest, and best, sandwich to make is The New York Steamer sub from Firehouse Subs, that they make FOR YOU! Gotta get it "fully involved", too. Can't beat it.
Love Firehouse!😊
I have no problem at all with you talking about the way things are going right now with this country. I’m right there with you Mike! It’s not good right now, none of it! Keep speaking your mind, your true supporters will stand with you! God bless you and your family! Stay safe!
Great camera work, somtimes I don't think RUclipsrs realize the value of camera work.
Good morning, Morgan's . Great to see you Melissa. I agree that things aren't looking very good, right now. Hopefully, it gets better soon. Thank you for your hard work on creating content!
Have a great day
Right now?? I truly don't believe things have looked good for years. Economy is out of control, inflation only continues to increase. We have a clown for a president and gutless political leaders unwilling to do anything about anything. Mike's right, this can't be fixed. All we can hope for is the next administration to "try" to get things somewhat "under control" in the future. Gas prices continue to go up and down(??) like a yo-yo and they still haven't managed to figure out where the cocaine found in the WH originated from 🤔🤔🤔. Yea, IT CAN'T BE FIXED
George, Hopey-Changey is what got us here in the first place. We are facing a do-it-ourselves project. Nobody in D.C. is going to fix our problems, but we the people will have to. In the 1976 movie "Network" there was a line where a guy got on the set and said "I've had all I can take, and I'm not going to take anymore," then he goes on for a rant that sounds like it was written for today. Look it up. It's great.
@@i.r.wayright1457 Didn't Popeye basically say the same thing???
@@ronallen6578 Probably.
It has been quite a while, but I have split big rounds of oak with a splitter that rotated to a down force splitter. You had to do a bit of wrestling with the rounds, and you were not standing but kneeling. Also I was younger.
Agree with everything about the economy. When significant number of people get to this point... "I'm just going to hold back"... the recession starts.
I have a small shed with an attached lean-to, and there's been a Robin's nest on top of one of the posts for about 4 years or so. It gets refurbished every spring.....just found some eggs in there yesterday. TONS of Robins this year all over the property.
Rain and mid 70s here today, so no chance to work on cutting up the trees that blew down in the last wind storm. There's always tomorrow, and if not, it doesn't matter.
Have a day!
I agree with you 100%, you are right- on about the economy, I don;t know if we should save gold or cash.
We could be waist deep in a depression and there would be people that wouldn’t see anything wrong.

As far as dump trucks, I like ol' Blue. A new motor, new updated brakes, check out steering and a few other things then you'll have a wonderful dump truck. It will look super kool with present paint finish (maybe clear coat) and your logo on doors. Looks better than a new one and sure beats spending $100k+. 😊
Mike I'm always impressed with your insight. Even if there is a lot of cash flow out there,it is worth much
Less than before. The container ship analogy seems to be fitting. The short term happiness comment fits some people but realists can see folly in that line of thinking. I really like to see split fire at work.

Mike, an easy thing to help you would be to take the wood scraps (saw dust, splintered chips and bark and just scatter it thru the woods where you won't be developing. After it breaks down over time it could help produce mushrooms. Was an old woodshed near my moms home place, long gone but the morels that grew there were so big (6-10" tall and fat). Should also plant you some fruit trees like cherry and apples. Perhaps a few pears. Don't forget the pollinators

Hey Mike , we have put off on getting a vehicle . As you said , we pumped the brakes on that deal !!!!
That sub sounds good but I want garlic mayo on mine.
Look into trading your current dump trailer for one ,
One or two sizes larger. Lot cheaper on the wallet for insurance compared to a new vehicle
That wouldn’t solve the issue he is trying to solve. He wants shorter length for the tighter areas and shorter deliveries.
smart hold off Mike !! These new dump trucks are not worth it !! I have a 98 international dump truck with the 7.3 ! best for the money straight work horse and affordable !
Now, if Wolf Ridge built a feeder bin like the T-REX, you could split that last piece directly into the bin. Hence, no lifting, saves the back!
