Homelessness is actually a huge problem on west cost USA. It has not become any less of a problem from when they wrote the song. It disgusts me (but doesn't surprise me) that instead of addressing the problem, we send millions or billions of dollars to a foreign country to cause homelessness over there too. Sanctitiy of life isn't respected at all.
