At any rate, it has nothing to do with the town of Baldur's Gate or the Bhaalspawn, so I don't see why it had to be titled Baldur's Gate 3, at least in my opinion. Had they created a new D&D franchise? I might have respected it. Not my cuppa, but there's plenty who would be interested in it, and I wish them well. But this isn't a Baldur's Gate game, except inasmuch as it is a D&D based game that spends at least a minimal amount of time in Faerun, wherein Baldur's Gate exists. And they shouldn't have tried milking the old franchise, in my opinion.

I went in almost completely blind, avoiding any videos about it the whole time. I even had to wait extra long for the Xbox release. I'm glad I didn't let anything get spoiled, everything was new when I started.

@@Leonidasthegreat1994 I may not remember everything correctely, it's been a while since i saw ilithids, but aren't the ilithids worms "just" supposed to lodge inside the skull of the infected and eat his brain away to grow and transform the host into an ilithid? I don't think there's any mind control involved and the host still has free will (until he die and the ilithid is born obviously).
Everyone remember to cast Chaotic Command to protect yourselves from mind affecting abilities. And summon undead creatures to fight for you since they're immune to intelligence drain and mind spells.
Too bad the round already started (since this is apparently Turn Based) and all your characters are dancing in place like idiots, minds ready to be devoured. smh.
@@TedBrogan If you've played baldur's Gate, you know how important party formation is. You should also know how important scouting is. If you properly utilize both these tactics, turn based shouldn't disadvantage you. You're probably just used to poor strategies. Like running in half cocked like an idiot and falling back on enemy AI exploitations like kiting while you cast whatever protection spells you should have cast before hand.

They did the same thing during the dos2 alpha, used resources from the first game. The graphics and artstyle of the first dos is considerably more cartoney compared to the second. Besides the artstyle of dos2 is not original in anyway, its generic western style rpg as it should be for a DnD game. It looks great, and assets will improve and change before realese.
As a huge DOS 2 fan (one of my top 5 games of all time) and a gargantuan D&D 5e fan (Player and DM), your presentation at PAX had my jaw-dropping. I know this is pre-alpha but I nearly cried. This is what I wanted and Larian delivered. The finished product is going to be insane. You can see the love and hard work that went into this. Well done, Larian, and everyone involved. I know it's going to be quite a while before this releases on PS4 (I know it hasn't been announced but I have faith), but for this kind of quality I am willing to wait. 40 hrs in arrived at baldurs gate. Was it worth the 3 year wait. Yes. Probably my fav realm in a dnd cinematic rpg masterpiece definitely best game of the year most likely the decade. Possibly all time. 10/10
I’ve never seen dragons look so good until watching this. The only thing I would change is making their scales a bit more of a noticeable red color but that said, the muted colors don’t look that bad either.

I was never a fan of Turn based CRPGS, & I didn’t know much about D&D either, but I could tell right off, the moment i saw the cinematic, that this was gunna be something, So I learned the game mechanics, from the host of youtubers & didn’t give up, because theirs just so much to this game, it can be overwhelming, its deep combat systems &D&D rules, & my God if this game didn’t blow me away, at a time when I honestly thought all “authentic game developers,” were either bought & ruined or extinct, this game defies logic, I mean theirs no pointless missions & fetch quests, the usual filler garbage we have known to just drudge through, Every second of this game has been fun, to the point that I started to even wonder ok, did the perfect storm just hit or was their something otherworldly going on here, dare I say magic, because I am a pretty experienced gamer, I own about a bit over a thousand games & never have I been this engrossed in a game before, you can tell LarianStudio was making a game for the players, by the players here & the level of authenticity in the world, its characters, to the sound, music, it just flowed perfectly down the river, the game is obviously special, it is, I am grateful I learned the game so as I wouldn’t get cheated out of this experience, because that’s precisely what this is, I do understand how game developers are shaking in their boots & it’s impossible to recreate & bottle a formula like this, I dream of this being the new standard, but somehow I doubt most game developers have the skill, patience, the big one which is will, or the time & money to follow the brave steps that LarianStudio has taken, they should be getting praised,not jealousy, we all should try to do better, be better, in everything we do in life & somehow this game seems to wake us up out of our slumber & enjoy life & have fun, because special moments, games, they usually come by once in a lifetime, & every second should be enjoyed, so congratulations on the accolades, its well deserved & this game just shows you what can be accomplished, if your passionate & love what your doing in life, it trickles down into all aspects of other peoples lives & you might not have even intended it to.

I like the brutality of the conflict on both sides; seeing the callous, utilitarian enslavement perpetrated by the Mind Flayer harmonize with the callous, utilitarian revenge of the Githyanki (the dragon-riders clearly don't care about saving the hostages on the nautiloid) gives personality to the factions, and flavors of potential resolution.

Best game I've ever played in my whole life. I hadn't played any games of this type before, but when I noticed that everyone was talking about this game, I decided to give it a chance. Now I've played Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2, and I'm replaying Baldur's Gate 3 with mods. It's my favorite game by far

Undead actually were not immune to Int drain in BG, for whatever reason.
That's some epic stuff. Can't wait to be level 1 and fight rats. Dragons and Illithids are just a bit much.

Best game I've ever played in my whole life. I hadn't played any games of this type before, but when I noticed that everyone was talking about this game, I decided to give it a chance. Now I've played Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2, and I'm replaying Baldur's Gate 3 with mods. It's my favorite game by far
