Love the awning but it need to extend past the peak of the fuselage or the water that hits that area will run under the tarp and leak on the stairs just move the suction cups to the other side of the fuselage and that’s where the water will go.
Kerry I would take that long side of the fabric awning and attach it to the elevator, use the suction cups where they are right now, and attach the other end to the front of the wing. That way it runs the length of the fuselage, and the hold down in high winds would make it more secure. Hope that helps! Have a great time at OSH!
@@KerryDMcCauley e = Engineering O = Order i.e. get your FAA to approve the Mod. Should be easy. What you are planning with the vacuum cups will not stop water from running in the top of the door. I have about 14 k hours in Kingair 90 through 350 in all sorts of weather condition loading and unloading outside in the weather.
@@normanappleton3627 My Queen Air does have a rain gutter that should stop most of the rain that gets past the tarp. Plus, I'll only use it if it's a very light rain with no wind.
Thinking out loud, maybe there is an ultraportable air conditioner that you could pair with an EcoFlow battery? During the day have a solar panel to top off the battery?
@@berniebrown9115 Another good possibility. I need to do more research before pulling the trigger. The temps don't look that bad for next week, so I'll probably be OK.
I have an Icy Breeze and I doubt it would make a huge difference. It would help blowing directly on you but doubt it would have much of an impact otherwise.
@@KerryDMcCauley if you did it you might be the only Queen Air in the flight. Most of the twins are Barons. Just looked your plane up on FAA register. Bet you’re glad you have those big ass Lycoming engines and not the old geared ones. Sweet airplane.

I had the same thought, and for that matter can secure that side of the tarp with paracord and tent stakes in ground on the other side of the fuselage
Good point, I'll try that but the rain gutter should help.
That would work, but I'd rather not have the tarp rubbing on the paint.
@@KerryDMcCauley didn’t think about the gutter that will for sure make a difference. Be safe and have fun.
@@mikeryan6277 might not be enough if it's a heavy rain.
That looks long enough to throw over the fuselage and secure to the ground on the other side.
Lick it and stick it...with those suction cups😅 that is...
It is, but I don't want the tarp to rub on the paint.
I would but they have some kind of sticky stuff on them.
What a nice looking old Queeny!!!
Thanks!

Not a bad idea, I'll try it.
The queen is not pressurized so get a bit of sail track an EO and rivet it parallel to the top of the door fore and aft!
Hmmmmm, maybe not.

Let's hope it's not too windy.
Fingers crossed!

Never knew this existed. Search: EcoFlow 5,100 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Cools 100 sq. ft. with Heater and Dehumidifier in Black
I've been looking at them. maybe.
What about the icy breeze battery poewered

I know, that was my first thought.
You not going to fly with beech gaggle to OSH? I have friends from California who do it every year.
That would be fun but I'm too busy to hook up with them. Plus it's only a 45 minute flight for me so flying with them wouldn't make sense.
