I was a teenager at the beginning of America's space program, and so exhilerated as we took those first tentative, and exciting steps away from our own earth. I'm in my late sixties now, and when I hear this theme I can feel that same exhileration within me again. Thank you so much for posting.
Nic Quattromani Yeah, despite being a pilot, space nut/historian and so on, it was a little superficial. I'd have put written language and the wheel as two of the others.
+Nic Quattromani Certainly not arguable in my view, yes you can say writing or the wheel but getting to the moon is just symbolically and practically in a whole other playing field.
Certainly in my lifetime. There will be nothing like it for decades - maybe centuries. Apollo was a concerted, unifying project that employed 400K people and mobilized over 20K companies and institutions with one goal. Staggering challenges and determination. Genome might come close but doesn't quite achieve the glory.
I don't think of the end credits when I hear this. I think of the brilliant scene where Apollo 8 comes from round the dark side of the moon and see the earth, and this music starts playing
I will hopefully see that view one day, and I will play this music. I have even put together a full playlist for the event I fly to and land on the moon. It is called Lunar Excursion Music. I used music from Apollo 13 and From the Earth to the Moon for obvious reasons, several orchestral and classical pieces, as well as songs from Animal House, Elvis, Grease, and a handful of other sources because I listen to these songs when travelling on Highway Adventures with my dad and younger brother (Went on one today, actually. Went to Bagdad, Kirkland, Prescott Valley, Jerome, and Flagstaff.), and a moonshot might be the greatest example of human travel. I more or less took my Music I Listen to Extended Version playlist and added as I saw fit.
11 years ago my dad used to watch this show with me as a kid. It is now 2023and in part because this I am now studying planetary and lunar geology. This music brings me tears.
I remember that scene, when they come around from behind the Moon into the sunlight and the Earth rises up... Magnificent! I'd give almost anything to see if for myself one day.
"And then all I can hear is Alan Bean's voice, about two octaves higher than usual, going "I know what that is!" God dammit, Pete Conrad has some of the greatest quotes from From the Earth to the Moon.
This theme is engaging, inspiring and emotional. Just as the series that depicted the true events were. Thank you for posting this. TO BOLDLY GO..........EX ASTRIS, SCIENTIA!
With the launch to the Moon tonight, all I am thinking about is this theme as we strive to reach the goal that was set before us many decades ago. Good luck NASA 🚀, I can't wait to witness history in my lifetime
I am so proud of what we, as Americans did; more so, because my 2nd cousin was one of the few that walked on the Moon. I am 82 and have lived to see in 2023 that it's not "acceptable" to be a Proud American. Thank God I will be gone soon.
I would be the first Australian astronaut to walk on the moon for Neil Armstrong and Edwin buzz aldrin Apollo eleven landing on the moon and 20th July 1969
I will always love this. The use of this music in the 1968 episode, when they first see the earth rise was incredible.
R.I.P Micheal Collins. May you fly forever in space.
Neil Armstrong died today. I just wanted to hear this theme while I thought about him. So here I am.
he wore his fame well
Out of all the historical figures from the 20th century his name stands the best chance of being remembered thousands of years from now.
2020 still listening this great theme
THE Best theme of all time. THE END!
"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
You quoted Kennedy. 👏 you are so smart
I'd like to hear this played when Artemis reaches the moon next year.
PERFECTION!!!! RIP Mr Kamen and TY for the beauty of your music
RIP all the moon voyagers who have passed.
There's plenty behind them
@@Thunderchild-gz4gc Many folks behind them including the unsung heroes who are the astronaut wives.
Especially the astronaut wives!

Rest in peace Neil Armstrong first man on the moon
Streaming tears from both eye.
I would say that this is a fine theme to go along with the greatest achievement in human history.
Nic Quattromani One of.
TheGroundedAviator Alright, I'll concede to "arguably the greatest achievement in human history."
Nic Quattromani Yeah, despite being a pilot, space nut/historian and so on, it was a little superficial.

@@filipinordabest YES. THAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THIS BIT OF HISTORY!

Man, I had forgotten that FTETTM had such a...stellar soundtrack.
YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Always reminds me of me and my dad when I was younger. He always used to watch this.

Talk to Elon Musk, maybe you'll be one of the two passengers going there late next year!
Is this a movie??
Thank you, hanstrevor, for giving us what the rest of the internet can't!
One of the series that justifies the existence of TV:). If ever in need of inspiration, check the series out.
Hanstrevor, THANK YOU for sharing!
Look at up the Moon, folks, and give a minute of silence for Neil. I'll miss him.
I'm totally going to play this when Artemis I launches...
If it launches
*when* stay optimistic.
@@theanonymouscommenter5608 it did. I still think it's too expensive.
I was born in Miami.I witnessed all 6 Moon launches. They lit #17 at night!
Quintessential perfection
As i listen to this i look up into the sky at a beautiful Full Moon! I wonder, when will we be going back!
Kennedy brought me here.
*Sniff* *Sniff* I still miss Neil. :'(
best end theme ever
Yes, I remember that episode and that particular scene very vividly. :-) And it's been at least 9 or 10 years since I last saw the entire series.

Same!
I definitely hear shades of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and Band of Brothers.
I think Kamen used a very similar theme in the Band of Brothers - Suite 1 Soundtrack. RIP
Does anyone know the name of this title on Spotify? Or how to find it elsewhere?
Linkara's review of Gameboy #2 brought me here. Anyone else?
@user007008 You are so right my friend.
@OsanBlackCat5RS In fifty years! Maybe more.
Because of this feeling Buzz Aldrin punches people.
If Bart Sibrel is remembered at all, it will be as one of the biggest liars and Charlatans of the 20th Century.
Does anyone know if this is on Spotify? I couldn't find it under Michael Kamen. Sad.
@lojogiles As a matter of fact, the same happened to me.
Alos, note how no one dislikes this :D
