In this video I demonstrate how to transfer data held in a Microsoft Word document into an Excel worksheet. I look at two methods:
The first requires us to save the Word document as a Text file (.txt) and then to use Power Query in Microsoft Excel to import the data.
The second uses a simple copy / paste method. This method works if the data is in a Word table.

Thank you! Amazing walkthroughs.
This was simple, and also the only video that worked for me. Thanks!
Finally found a video that didn't ONLY explain pasting perfectly formatted tables into excel, appreciate it!
I AGREE!

Helped so much! Thank you!
This was very helpful. Thanks so much
Exactly what I needed, explained simply and effectively. Thank you!
I was going to say that. The other keep rambling on things that I didn't need at this moment. So enjoying!
@@lamine4483 Yup I know the feeling....frustrating and just went through that. But thank God for this channel and shared video
Excellent tutorial. This case is quite recurrent. Thank you Chester.
Chester thank you so much mate. It worked as a charm! 🙂 Greetings from Greece!
Thank you for a good video.
Thank you. I've had tables before, that's easy. But like in the first part I had data, it just wanted to put everything in the first row. Maddening
My sincerest appreciation, 🙏 really helpful
Understandable have a great day🙂✌
great work
Love you so much
Thanks. It saved me a lot of hassle. I did it in google sheets and the "import" is under "file " tab. Thanks
thank you
thanks alot
Thank you 😊 just what I needed 😇
thankyou bro very helpful
Great 💐q
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for sharing both methods, you are the man!
Also if it is not to much to ask, could you share how to add column headers when converting this same exact process. Let's say in the case that no column headers (Date, Description, Money In, Money out, and Balance) were in the Word Doc. Maybe another video potentially? I am subscribed and notification's are on also.
Anxiously waiting on your response.
Thank you,

thank you.
Hi, I have an issue where I am trying to scrape data from the body of an email and I need to organize it into columns in excel. It wouldn't be that much of an issue if I were only doing it a few times every day, but I receive up to 100 support emails a day that I need to organize.
I've gone far enough to where I am able to automatically copy and paste the email information into Word and it comes out like this:
From:
Subject:
To:
Reply To:
First Name:
Last Name:
Company:
Title:
Email:
Phone:
Message:
This is how support messages are usually sent to me. Is there a way I can have this all organized into columns?
I have the same document you have, a bank statement but when I try to follow your steps, it isn't coming of as yours. Mine re arranges its self in columns only. How do go about it please help
