I always like the treacherous three. They all had interesting developments. From being good guys to bad guys to maybe not such bad guys. Tousen was avenging his soulmate by trying to destroy a corrupt and broken society. Gin was also avenging a loved one rangikyu, and would defy a literal God being his master Aizen to do so. They were both in their own ways fighting what they perceived to be evil.
Surprisingly merciful on AIzen's part. Now that I think about it, Tosen would've been imprisoned no doubt. Instead of rotting in a cell reflecting on himself, he was killed in a way that he died near his comrades.
As time goes by you realize that Aisen was right even if he went about it in awful way given that the soul society and the bleach afterlife as a whole can be a very depressing place, there is no paradise. A lot purgatory and even Hell but there’s no peaceful afterlife in bleach
Makes alot of sense on why aizen set an auto kill switch in tosen and not other members like Harribel or Gin. For Tosen there was a condition, and I'm strongly convinced this is it, given his sorrowful past further explained in detail in the light novels. I agree 👍.

Seeing as tosen definitely had an end at some point aizen would rather agree to Tosen's terms and set it up automatically than have someone prevent him from doing it manually, plus killing tosen manually sends a different message than intended, sorta like how he handled Harribel. I always thought that he really had tosen as an ally and killed him because token is the only shinigami immune to his ability. He is blind so he can't be hypnotized.
Tousen understood two aspects of life the most, fear and despair. These were things Aizen did not possess and therefore kept him around to understand them.
This is one of the many reasons I loved CFYOW. My bros and I always wondered and argued among us the reason why Aizen killed him: I thought it was Tousen was defeated and useless, my older bro thought it was because he knew things Aizen wanted to keep secret and our younger bro...well, he's not the brightest pen in the drawer and his theory (jokingly) was that since Tousen was black he had to die (specially funny to us since he himself is also black lol) but when the novel answered the question we were really excited...'till, once again, our younger bro said "gay Aizen confirmed".
Idk why people find it odd aizen would have given him mercy but aizen as a character does tend to have respect for specific characters. He's more logical in his reasoning. It may not be empathetic but it's out of a sense of understanding and respecting the person based on their ideals and how well they uphold them. He likes those are true unto themselves. It's very much a Kimbly from FMAB sort of thing imo. These types of characters although psychopathic do have principles st the very least. Which to me, makes them better villains.
Yes naruto bleach and one piece have croupt system that created thier villains naruto has the shnobi system bleach soul society system croupt and one piece world government system croupt no wonder that the characters in thier world become evil because of croupt system that created them
Tousen followed Aizen for justice. He was probably told the truth about the soul king and how he's an inanimate being. Also, Tousen believes that The Central 46 was unjust when investigating his friend's murder. Aizen wanted to be the soul king so he could become justice himself. This made Tousen view Aizen with worship as he knew his abilities were inferior to his. He does the grunt work, power measuring, and scouting for Aizen's respect.
Most of the ideas in that novel came from Kubo himself. Narita(the writer) was surprised and sad Kubo wasnt able to put many of these into the story itself but fully understood why after Kubo explained it to him.
Something just hit me. Before Kaname Tosen got killed by Aizen. When Tosen use his Resurrección to become that bug and can see. After he got defeated and was apologizing to Sajin and Shūhei. Before Aizen slash Tosen… should Tosen seen the attack before it hit him? Remember he was blinded and wasn’t affected by Aizen Kyoka Suigetsu.
After hearing this with also thinking he just killed him for being defeated. I have a better understanding of why he did it.. So now I’m like 98% for Aizen doing that. But I don’t think being who he was with his friends that they would have gone though as tough with the torturing then they would have before Ichigo. I mean they specifically say that he changed the way they do things. So I doubt he would have went through the old ways. But then again they probably would have considering everything he did… Something to ponder and think about. Because now I can’t really say he was a bad guy.
You know what's worse when Tousen survived? Tokinada waltzing in his prison and troll the shit out of him. And this time he can do it and still be justified.

Aizen became the soul king. He will eventually come out. Eventually all the “noble” houses will be abolished. Tousen was a fool choosing to cling to others instead of learning to see for himself. That is why he was killed. Not a mercy but a consequence of abandoning oneself to others mercy. His naivite was taken advantage off always.
Mercy huh? Sparing him? If I remember correctly, in Tosen’s final moments, he wants to see Hisagi’s face because his hollow powers are still active. But in the next panel we see Aizen obliterated Tosen before he gets the chance. Kinda a dick move don’t you think?

the point of having Tousen as his lieutenant was to show off to the rest of his minions and Soul Society that it wasnt Kyoka Suigetsu solely that made Aizen a monster
This is not accurate at all Kaname died because of "soul suicide" his hollowfication was not complete. Aizen didn't kill him at all. He didn't even move or do anything. Kaname died because he didn't hollowfy properly. I think you need to go do some more research bro.... you're way off here. Tosen is literally a perfected vizard not only is he described like that but we see it where is it ever stated that he wasn't complete? Besides it's from the novels so it's canon.
It has nothing to do with that and Tosen himself said that Aizen would never kill him for that because Aizen can kill him whenever he wants, he doesn’t need his shikai to do it.
Huh. Leave it to Tite to make you feel something for a character you once hated. I was always confused on Tousen's actions especially after all his preaching of Soul Society corruption and after his insulting of Sajin Komamura on his appearance I was all to willing to see this prick die and smiled when he got axed. But now I actually have a different view point. Kaname still had no right to insult Sajin after everything he did for Tousen but now I kinda feel bad for the asshat.
Wait, they never showed it, Tosen just exploded. He became a hollow, Espada class, did his sword release, you don't get to be human/ soul reaper after that, you just die
I hope BLEACH can continue the manga Hell Arc. I also wish for that can get more arcs after Hell Arc. I got some ideas like West Soul Society Arc, Heaven Arc, High Dimensional Being Arc. Wish Kubo could see my ideas : Hell Arc : about go to hell and fight the evil soul reapers and devil clan for saving world peace, and the final boss could be Satan the King of Hell who in charge the whole hell. West Soul Society Arc : about they go to British and crossover with Burn the Witch, and fight the new enemy called hybrid beings. This Hybrid beings are mixed with dragon cell, vampire cell, hollow cell, and zombie cell, created by a mad scientist. Since ESS we have Mayuri, so WSS side has a mad scientist would make sense. Heaven Arc: about to fight angels, archangels, fallen angels from heaven realm. If we have a Soul King in east, maybe there's a Angel King in west. Angel clan characters/enemies could be Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Lucifer. High Dimensional Being Arc : about they go to 4D or 5D realm to fight the new enemy called higher dimensional beings, and reveal that there's a true God who created Soul King, Hell King, and Angel King.

So death was designed into this characters appearance from the start. His name Tosen sounds like Token as in the token black guy in the group to prove you're not racist. Your ghetto pass. Lastly Tosen was a vizard at the end and it would've been cool to see him become a Vasto Lorde though since he doesn't have a Quincy inside him like Ichigo to hold him back

I’ll be honest, when I first read through Bleach between him and Gin I cared for Gin more seeing him as much more interesting and Tosen was just a lackey being manipulated. However now that I’m older and understand not just Tosen but the Soul Society in general I appreciate Tosen a lot more and definitely see him more as a tragic character. He was definitely not an evil
Man, but unfortunately there was no way his end was gonna be pleasent regardless if he was spared or not.
Gotta love Simo and the ability to intertwine multiple story points to uncover hidden lore nuggets I never knew about. One of the reasons I sub to this channel. Keep it up!
Should have named it "The Reason why Aizen Killed Tosen - The UNSEEN TRUTH!
Lol
makes me wonder if Aizen saw Tousen as his only friend, because he killed him not out of losing but at his request in honouring him and his values because we know Aizen cares for no one only his own interests
I wish his background story got more explored in the main material, i legit started to like and respect his character more after this
I always like the treacherous three.
Gin has little morals yet all the conviction, Tousen has the best morals and sense of justice but very little conviction
@Plxusible Conviction as in a firmly held belief? I think Tozen had pretty strong beliefs.
I agree 👍.
Wdym auto kill switch lmao. Aizen just blew him with straight power
@@J.c410 to honor tosens wish at any given time, given the case that aizen may be too preoccupied to go all the way to tosens location to finish him of. Also Tosen is one of those few that's yet affected by or immune to Kyouka Suigetsu (Ichigo Kurosaki, Azashiro Souya, Kaname Tosen), cause he's blind, giving him a more genuine interaction with aizen, especially since he has a genuine reason to go against soul society. Seeing as tosen definitely had an end at some point aizen would rather agree to Tosen's terms and set it up automatically than have someone prevent him from doing it manually, plus killing tosen manually sends a different message than intended, sorta like how he handled Harribel. In Aizen's eye it's honoring a genuine follower's wish.
@@topher_69eze Doesnt change the fact that aizen killed him on that exact mimdnt from sheer power outburst. This is bleach, it's not like he had a bomb or something implemented inside his body xD. Aizen just blew him up when he got defeated
@@J.c410 It's more like soul suicide and probably the reason why Tousen was hollowfied in the first place. If it was soul suicide, than yes. It was an auto kill switch.
@@J.c410 "This is bleach, its not like he had a bomb or something implemented in his body" I mean, Mayuri did this with some of the soul reapers under his command.
This was very informative about his character
Wow man Kubo’s writing is so amazing bruh
Wow... tosen was over 700 years old. 700 years ago, when Tokinada murdered his wife, and Tosen tried to get a meeting to punish him. No wonder he had so many forms with his bankai
Tokinada killed her 700 years ago??
Thats a funny story man, glad you guys still remember Bleach and have those kind of moments
“If you choose the path of revenge, dig two graves”.
And Kaname Tousen knew that from the very beginning.
The Central 46 & noble families in Bleach are corrupt, just as the Celestial Dragons from One Piece.
They resemble the real world politics you go against them they kill you atleast in third world countries
@Essence of Bravery 😂
First well drawn black person in anime
Nope, it was Chad
Thanks for sharing this. I did not know this. And I’m kinda happy. Tousen was my favorite character.
Kubo should add you to the creative department of Bleach. People like you are the reason why I haven't lost faith in being a Bleach fan.
Most of the ideas in that novel came from Kubo himself. Narita(the writer) was surprised and sad Kubo wasnt able to put many of these into the story itself but fully understood why after Kubo explained it to him.
@@michaelshahoe thank you for this
bro??
Perfect Video Simo Urahara great detail
I read “Can’t Fear Your Own World”, hell of a story!
Great vid. This had totally went over my head.
The more I learn about the soul society croupt the more i become convinced that aizen and tousen were right
After hearing this with also thinking he just killed him for being defeated.
That's why these 2 are my favorite characters of all of bleach
Common W from simo
Tosen would of been imprison like Aizen did. So Aizen made it quick and end his foresee suffering.
I didn't even know he killed him until now on my rewatch 5 years later.
Dam …. Good stuff . New found level of respect to kubos masterpiece more n more . Thank you for the content
Betting Aizen saved Hallibel by defeating her himself, and sparing all the other captains he defeated, at least from Manga Anime.
You know what's worse when Tousen survived?
Tokinada waltzing in his prison and troll the shit out of him. And this time he can do it and still be justified.
That's called forgetting reality.
Just like every guy is forced to become loser by society but he forgets he never wanted to be part of that.
This was interesting. Thanks
Wow. This makes his character so much better.
I would say you nailed that one good job
He asked him to previously if he ever starts to be friends with them again so he wouldn't slip into depression.
My thing was, how the hell was he able to use her sword especially if each is unique to that person.
He poured his reitsu into the sword for a long time before it accepted him as his master.
A clear explanation indeed. Politics and corruption are the reasons why Soul Society will eventually fall.
Very Interesting.
Aizen and Tousen were besties 🤜🏾🤛🏻
If you don't know the condition to Aizen's shikai to be activated you don't need to think about none of this 👀🙈
Japanese feudal society. What do you expect? That's how it was back then in the real Japan and most of other societies. Samurais, knights..
Give thanks to narita ryohgo for making cfyow and safwy for covering bleach plot holes
safwy is a fanfic.
cfyow atleast was created based on concepts Kubo made but couldnt fit into the story for different reasons.
You mean Kubo? Narita literally just did what Kubo told him to when it comes to the lore and plot points. None of these were from Narita himself.
@@zeroskaterz92 exactly lol the only thin he made up on is own was spirit are forever with you cause that was for kubos 10 years anniversary for bleach , but the ones after the war was all him due to his illness during the war
This topic of the video is one of the mystery that hunt me till now, since I watched the anime and read the manga of bleach. It’s really sad, and Tousen was one of my favorite character just like neji is in naruto. Knowing both died put a ‘what the heck moment’ as I follow the story.
Poor Tosen got nerfed too much
I thought he killed him because if he became there Ally . since his sword power wouldn't work it's better to kill him that regret it later.
His reasons for following him make sense though so I don’t blame him
Tosen is a tragic story of a friend zoned s!mp
If only these details were adapted or hinted at somehow in the anime
When I first seen show first thought to defeat aizen was tousen
Mercy huh? Sparing him?
If I remember correctly, in Tosen’s final moments, he wants to see Hisagi’s face because his hollow powers are still active. But in the next panel we see Aizen obliterated Tosen before he gets the chance. Kinda a dick move don’t you think?
Tosen himself asked him to end him the moment he turned his back on his ideals to befriend again the shinigamis.
Man, Kubo is a genius.
I think, Aizsn is opening a second hidden form of Tosen, no one said anything about him being sent to Hell Like the Others
Bringing Tousen back would be amazing
@@dend1 a definite Ringer, and Mayuri collected their corpses... Who is to say he is not alive

I think all the villain especially Aizen and Yhwach is the right one. I mean, soul society is full of coruption then Aizen want to rule it to correct it, i guess.
And in Yhwach point of view, his father(Soul King) has been used by shinigami and he want to free his father by absorb his power like to evenge what the shinigami has done to soul king.
Eh no? Yhwach wanted to change the system the world operates in, which in his eyes is extremely corrupt and broken (he's actually right)
Both were right in arrancar, Fullbringer and Quincy eyes the shinigami are traitorous thieves who steal and impose their rules upon them.
it is true that Urahara cannot use his shikai in his bankai form
What? Is this a riddle?😂 Bankai is the next lvl of Shikai, they ARE using shikai, just in its pure and ultimate form.
Tosen and Gin both had it rough before aizen
Tokinada is truly a meneace to society
Loyalty from Aizen???
That's unexpected.
Wait, I thought 69 killed Tosen?
Hisagi did stab Tousen through his head, but he was still alive. It was Aizen who used his immense reiatsu to finish of Tousen for good.
@@troyoneil1648 I didn't realize that. I must have missed that when I was watching the anime.
@@troyoneil1648 We dont know if it was immense reiatsu. For all we know it could've been soul suicide and the main reason why Tousen agreed to hollowfication. If it was immense reiatsu, than Hisagi as an example would've been effective by it as well.
@@michaelshahoe It was pretty heavily implied even before the novel came out it was Aizen who killed him. In both the manga and the anime they panned over to Aizen with a smug look on his face after Tousen was killed. Komamura even yelled at Aizen with rage because he knew it was him who was responsible. And yeah that convo between Aizen and Tousen about Aizen taking him out if he were to ever forgive the Shinigami all but confirmed it
@@troyoneil1648 Yes it was implied Aizen did it. But it was never staten how he did it. Soul Suicide can be the reason and why Tousen agreed to hollowfication in the first place and Aizen would still be the reason why Soul Suicide happen because Aizen was the one who hollowfied Tousen. Not sure how anything you said confirmed Aizen killed Tousen with his reiatsu.
Even tosen could see you got some money
The justice man
that was mercy killing
This is the reason cous his blind he is the only one to par with aizen in his first form
Interesting =)
Tosen is immune to Aizen's shikai...need there be anymore reason than that?
The 2 people who didn't get hit by Aizen's shikai were Tosen and Ichigo, so I think that Aizen really respects those 2
@@aizewn He can't do it on Tousen because he is blind, nothing to do with respect. With Ichigo, he just wanted to see his strength.
@@thrilla72 Hey, have you read the novel Bleach cfyow? you will get the answer from there, the story of Aizen's first meeting Tosen
the point of having Tousen as his lieutenant was to show off to the rest of his minions and Soul Society that it wasnt Kyoka Suigetsu solely that made Aizen a monster
This is not accurate at all
Kaname died because of "soul suicide" his hollowfication was not complete. Aizen didn't kill him at all. He didn't even move or do anything. Kaname died because he didn't hollowfy properly. I think you need to go do some more research bro.... you're way off here. They explained what happens to a Soul that tries to exist as both hollow and soul. If you don't get it right you literally will self destruct. This is explained way back in the first arcs
Tosen is literally a perfected vizard not only is he described like that but we see it where is it ever stated that he wasn't complete? Besides it's from the novels so it's canon.
Nope aizen himself admitted of killing tousen
Aizen is the GOAT and its not even close
Aizen killed tosen cause tosen haven't seen Aizen's kyoka suigetsu and can challange aizen without even opening his eyes
Even then I doubt Aizen would think Tosen would go out to actually fight him
It has nothing to do with that and Tosen himself said that Aizen would never kill him for that because Aizen can kill him whenever he wants, he doesn’t need his shikai to do it.
I still lowkey feel it still an excuse to lowkey black anime characters.
But Hallibel didn’t die. Tosen did, it might be that Tosen couldn’t handle the full truth
Yeah halibel is still alive till this day since she’s now the ruler of hueco mundo. She even has a new look in the hell arc
@@cristianflores1588 she deserves it, I do like how the hollows are ruled by a triumvirate of sorts
One of the few characters in bleach I straight up despised along with Momo.
Reason = worthless, no more explaination needed
Wait, they never showed it, Tosen just exploded. He became a hollow, Espada class, did his sword release, you don't get to be human/ soul reaper after that, you just die
What's blint
I hope BLEACH can continue the manga Hell Arc. I also wish for that can get more arcs after Hell Arc.
I got some ideas like West Soul Society Arc, Heaven Arc, High Dimensional Being Arc.
Wish Kubo could see my ideas :
Hell Arc : about go to hell and fight the evil soul reapers and devil clan for saving world peace, and the final boss could be Satan the King of Hell who in charge the whole hell.
Hisagi killed Tousen. What gives?
or maybe aizen it’s just racist, halibel and tosen both had darker skin
He killed Tosen because he was a Black man. Harribel is a female Hollywood actress, (Halle Berry) so, he caused progressiveness and #Metoo movement, and is illuminati (Hollywood orgy masquerade dollar as above so below conspirator goon) so he made Ichigo watch movie of own life, but a WholeGoku killed Aizen with final get-suga' at-ten-show.
Ive always disliked tousen. He is the epitomy of selfishness, he uses "justice" as an excuse to justify anything he does. He is willing to let aizen do anything he wants because tousen is mad about something that happened in the past. What he wants isn't justice, its vengence
Honestly straight up crap once again everybody's got to copy Naruto by stupidly having redeeming arcs for villains let me tell you something real quick about life people if someone's capable of being a hero and a villain they're bipolar
So the Punisher?
If Toisen and Chad died would that relative or racist? 💡🤔🤔🤔🤔🤯🤷
The black guy always dies. Tosen was designed with a noose around his neck this tied rope was used to lynch African American people. So death was designed into this characters appearance from the start. His name Tosen sounds like Token as in the token black guy in the group to prove you're not racist. Your ghetto pass. Lastly Tosen was a vizard at the end and it would've been cool to see him become a Vasto Lorde though since he doesn't have a Quincy inside him like Ichigo to hold him back
Wtf?
I'm with you on idea if it possible that it would be cool to have seen Tousen become a Vastol Lorde. Would've also fit since would explain why he seemed fond of Wonderweiss.
