  • Yhwach's The Almighty was a nearly unstoppable ability, allowing him to see the future and also change it as well. However, two of Ichigo's greatest enemies, Aizen and Tsukishima, were able to use their abilities to confound The Almighty and help save the day. In this video, I want to explore exactly how their abilities worked to circumvent the Quincy King's power.

      @duncannslade 4 года назад +62

      It was high-level meta stuff, and regardless of the way Bleach tied up in the end, I loved Tsukishima and Aizen's contributions. WRT Aizen's comment at Yhwach seeing Ichigo, I think it refers to the fact that Aizen was so steadfast in every possible future at casting KS on Yhwach, that in one of the futures Yhwach was looking at (i.e. at the point where he stopped using his actual EYES and was instead leaning on his Almighty Eyes throughout), that Alternate Aizen had cast himself as Ichigo, the human brat. Either that or he was just interested by the results of the power interaction. 🤷‍♂️

    • @Timjer92
      @Timjer92 4 года назад +71

      It is indeed incredibly broken, but as something that is implied he inherited from his father, the godly Soul King, it is fitting.
      I actually subscribe to an entire theory that The Almighty was more loyal to the SK than to Yhwach, and that it allowed Yhwach to lose because that's what the SK wanted. Makes sense especially considering the numerous highly unlikely longshots that had to happen at once to defeat Yhwach.

Yhwach can see too much with his Almighty and thus is highly susceptible to Kyoka Suigetsu. Aizen could not have wished for an easier opponent. @white america's worst nightmare Aizen reached the 4th level of the Zanpakuto. Where the Shinigami and the Sword are truly fused as one. Ichigo did this as well with Mugetsu. Mugetsu is his 4th form. Ichigo use the "Final Getsuga Tenshou" which is a skill, not Mugetsu itself.
      The Bankai is the 2nd level of the Zanpaktou. The 3rd is where the fusion begins to manifest. Ichigo and Aizen use this during their final battle, their swords and arms where fused as one. Aizen has a Bankai. It is his will now. There is no "Release". He can choose to just use the power of the bankai without showing a change. There is no more "releasing" of the zanpakuto. Aizen and Kyoka Suigetsu are one now. As it should be. The Zanpakutou is the Shinigami, they were always one but physically separated through the Asauchi to truly understand and learn their power.
      It's a circle. The user pours their spiritual pressure into the blank asauchi forming a zanpakuto, and in the end they become one again.
      *Zanpakuto level of progression.*
      1. Asauchi - The blank zanpakuto. The wielder pours their spiritual pressure into the blank sheet. It becomes them, their power, not unlocked.
      2. Zanpakuto - The base form of weapon after forming from the asauchi.
      3. Shikai - The first release. Attatined after learning the name of their zanpakuto.
      4. Bankai - The second release. Attained through training and understanding the Zanpakuto.
      5. Fusion Manifestation - The fusion of the Zanpakuto and the Shinigami begins.
      6. Fusion. The Zanpakuto and the Shinigami become one. The powers of the Zanpakuto unshackled from the physical form and able to be used at will.
      Aizen and Ichigo used their weapons in their final forms pulling them from thin air. Their will. Shikai and Bankai are now the norm and are beneath what there were. Their power is their will.

    The metaphors for how Tsukishima's and Aizen's abilities worked to help Ichigo were SO helpful actually. I do have a couple things though. Kyouka Suigetsu affects all SIX senses- don't forget spiritual awareness! Even if you heard or saw a person, if their spiritual signature is wrong you would know they were a fake- so Aizen's ability affects that too. And when Uryu temporarily nullifies Yhwach's Almighty with the arrow and Ichigo stikes him, one of the reasons he didn't see his defeat coming was because of Haschwalth (though Aizen might've certainly also had a hand in it as well). When Yhwach's powered switched to Haschwalth while Yhwach slept, he sent a vision of Ichigo defeating him, but led him to believe it was a dream. Yhwach DID technically see his defeat, but dismissed it as just a dream. I think that makes more sense as to why he didn't see Uryu coming with the arrow rather than he just happened to not be paying attention in that moment.
    If I got anything wrong let me know but that's how I remember it.

    Good video again. I think you should do one on Aizen's kyoka suigetsu ability as it clearly evolved post sealing. Since Aizen fused with his sword kyokasuigetsu seems to trap you by just looking at Aizen himself....possibly.
    Also, it seems to now create illusions that Aizen didn't intend for. Remember he made Juha see Renji in bankai form but Aizen never saw Renji's new bankai so it is possible that kyoka suigetsu is using info from the opponent's mind in some aspect.
    I think too Aizen power being restricted by the black seals on his body limited Kyoka Suigetsu's influence. This can be a possible reason why it was operating a bit differently as Aizen powers were restricted close to him...possibly explaining why he was subbing for the illusions of Renji and Ichigo...he had to go in close for it to work.

    I think Aizen saying Ichigo gave Yhwach trouble is a clue to how the final battles played out, and obviously it isnt to do with any detectable physical damage as Ichigo inflicted none. Kubo doesnt bother explaining things and his power system lacks consistency, but from what i could gather Aizen is saying he could sense the battle via reiatsu, and from what he could sense, Yhwach probably spent a ton of his 'energy' using his future bending multiple times rather than risking a direct battle with Ichigo's bankai. I assume that similar to how Nen powers can be op but have conditions, a power like Yhwach's future bending probably has immense cost, otherwise he would be spamming it or using it in far more powerful ways, its just based on logical inference that the almighty power is NOT infinite and spammable and does have a cost, hence him even needing time to rest (when he lends his power to Hashwalt). (more detail below)
    Its also limited to one person at a time, whomever he focuses his gaze upon.
    Likewise i think we can further infer that what he bends with his power will have a cost to it based on how its used, and the cost must be higher than normal means or else he would never act in the present and just always use almighty. Placing a reiatsu trap is one small cost usage, killing a spirit body or breaking its sword probably requires more reiatsu than whatever the thing is he is trying to change with his power. So he must be able to control and decide how much power he puts into each usage of Almighty, and must also have limits or a max mana bar atleast, and probably has to rest a long time after using up his tank. This means Yhwach wasnt just being cheeky when he told Ichigo he was showing respect to his Bankai, he probably placed a ton of reiatsu into that usage of Almighty to break his bankai and horn, perhaps far more than the amount Ichigo would have displayed had he fought him directly, but chose to do so rather than bother or risk the encounter going any further.
    That whole spawning traps segment is probably just the least intensive or most efficient way of using Almighty without expending much reiatsu. Likewise he saw fit to steal whatever he could from the remaining quincy before facing Aizen, implying he may have drained more of his tank than intended taking on ichigo. Also alot of unexplained things in the next chapter, but one could argue Aizens illusions have to replicate reiatsu senses as well to the opponent, but the fact that multiple times Yhwach attempts to use future bending to break Ichigo and Aizens sword and it only cracks is a sign that Yhwach is either too low on power by now to use it as effectively, or more likely is controlling how much power is put into each usage of future bending. I believe this is why the 'illusion ichigo''s sword doesnt break, nothing to do with Tsukishima imo, since this isnt the real ichigo at that point, but Aizen still. By this logic, he believes he used enough to break the sword based on what he thinks his target is, but is incorrect because the sword is really Aizen's. Or an Illusion of what Ichigos power level should appear to be to Yhwach mind, and since Aizens reiatsu is far higher than the amount Yhwach used for his future bending in these instances it merely cracked rather than broke.
    In other words - the energy put into the spell cast wasnt enough to complete the task because Yhwach is incorrect about the power level of what he is spell casting against, sort of lol.... hope that makes sense. That means Yhwach was spamming useless spells wasting mana quite a bit in the end! Then having to come back from the dead in 684 probably used quite alot of energy as well, so it becomes slightly more believable that after all that and the momentary loss of power, that he was too weak to defend himself in the final moment even vs a worn out Ichigo shikai. Is it just head cannon? Yeah... but thats the best sense I could make of what we are shown in the finale. Heres hoping the anime expands the final arc where it was rushed....

    • @corruptangel6793
      @corruptangel6793 4 года назад +37

      Ichigo didn't use his shikai to fell Yhwach, he used his bankai. The Bankai Yhwach already admited to being strong enough to take seriously. That white casing was just an ornate sheath, like a hardened version of that white cloth his original shikai was wrapped in when not in use. Once it shattered, his real blade was revealed which is nearly identical to his original shikai.
      Something else to mention is that Yhwach did see the future in which Ichigo killed him, he just denounced it as a dream because ichigo used his original shikai blade in that "future".
      "Zangetsu...of course. So what I saw that time was the future seen with my own eyes. I thought it was a dream you made me see, Haschwalth."
      Which means he could've changed that future and saved himself, but because he'd effectivly tossed aside that grain of sand, he couldn't do so in time. That also explains why it took him ten years to regenerate. He already said he could change the futures in which he died, so he just did so again. But this time he was too weakened or too far gone to make his resurrection instant.

      Something that validates your theory is that in his fight against Ichibei Ywach got competely drained of energy when he used the All Mighty
      So much in fact that he needed to sleep
      When he absorbed the Soul King and Mimijagi his "uses" of the full powered All Mighty increased
      Hence why he could use it 3 times when fighting Ichigo
      One to break his sword, one for his horn and in the other he breaked Ichigo's bones
      That's why when he descended to soul society he fought Aizen for a while without using the All Mighty
      Ichigo did drained a lot, not to say all of his energy

    Tsukishima is mad underrated. His power is basically to alter your personal past with the swipe of his sword. It even works on inorganic matter too. CFYOW reveals that Fullbringers have a piece of the Soul King in them. My headcannon is that Book of The End was inherited by the Soul King(its heavily hinted that SK had the Almighty as well) as the 'antithesis' to the Almighty. One controls the past and one controls the future. I'd Tsukishima trained more I don't think it would be a stretch that his abilities could counter or cancel out YH. Or maybe the SK had seen everything in the future and made Book of the End to keep Almighty in check. Hell Tsukishima even kind of favors Yhwach a little. I wonder If Tsukishima is an ancestor of the SK. What do y'all think?

    But my thinking is that Kubo wanted to leave Aizen’s bankai a mystery so that the unknown nature of it would make aizen a character we truly don’t know how powerful he is.

    5:25 One thing - if we believe in theory of multiple potential futures, we should also consider theory of multiple timelines, which implies infinite pasts that can lead to the present. We love to believe that there is one past - as we lived through it, but we will also only live through one future - so either there is only one timeline for us and there is no infinite possibilities and in fact no infinite pasts, or there isn't just one specific timeline and change/choice isn't only an illusion. All Mighty can change all futures, the way Book can manipulate person's pasts into infinite possibilities. Which implies that in Bleach universe - there are multiple pasts and futures, and it only depends on who is the viewer - that which timeline is followed.

    You look "Ichigo's Bankai" in the futures
    He witnesses all of the futures that contain that information and chooses the one he "likes" or the one that is more useful
    Like the future in which Ichibei dies, or the unlikely future in which Ichigo's bankai breaks and then he overrides the present with that result
    What I mean it's that he isn't changing the future, he is selecting a particular outcome that he sees and overrides reality with it

      That's a great question. I think he actually affects Juhas perspective of the present, since Aizen would only be able to change the futures if he saw or at least predicted them (well, it's Aizen, so maybe he did, idk). If he affects what Juha is currently seeing, then the Almighty would probably show the possible outcomes based on the illusion he is currently experiencing. If that's the case, then it's a very big flaw in an otherwise completely hax power, since he can only react around what he BELIEVES is going on

    Didn't aizen use kyoka suigetsu on yhwach when he met him in muken? I don't think he was using the almighty at that time so wouldn't that be the reason he was able to effect him? Because If he was using the almighty at that time wouldn't he have been able to see in the future that aizen was going to put him under kyoka suigetsu's effect 🤔?

    • @Ephideltrance
      @Ephideltrance 4 года назад +13

      Yep, most likely. But the thing with Almighty it actually only allows him to see the future of what he is observing. I don't think he generally sees all futures throughout the universe which is why he can be caught off guard. So it is possible that kyoka suigetsu by its very nature could work on him regardles....because it relies on vision. Plus Aizen is nearing Soul King level of power....and that was his power still being restricted.

    For those of you still confused about Tsukushima power, it's the concept they used in Avengers Endgame. When they removed the stones from the reality, it created a new future timeline divergent (remember when Bruce met the Ancient One). However, if they put the stones back EXACTLY where they got them from time wise, then there's no divergent timeline. Tsukushima inserting into the past, creates a new timeline in that person (including their sword a manifestation of their spiritual power because they're connected) thus it created a timeline where Ywach NEVER broke Ichigo's bankai specifically for his past. Therefore, Orihime could heal it, because even if she saw it, she could still heal it cause it no longer is in the timeline for Ichigo.

    I thought all the Fullbringers would be a more clear counter to the Almighty since their abilities effect opponents regardless of reiatsu. I also thought that Aizen might use the Hogyoku somehow to turn Uryu into a vizard and make the A the Antithesis unabsorbable by Yuha..

Jackie could’ve been running around rescuing the wounded and Ginjo could’ve fought a Sternritter or something

    Small fix. Aizen wasn’t lucky. He just isn’t always sure what you see when you’re hypnotized. He made that clear during the him vs captains fight. Once you get going it seems to take on a mind of its own. So I think he said that last part because it was actually him realizing what the all mighty was seeing at the time

    • @CNNBlackmailSupport

      He was lucky that Ywach was susceptible, knowing his powers of godly foresight. You'd think the Almighty would be capable of seeing through trickery, which is why the book of the end was needed. It isn't trickery happening as far as reality goes. He is actually inside their past as it occurred, not just some visual hallucination or altered memory, per se. I'd even be willing to be that without book of the end throwing Ywach off, Aizen couldn't actually do anything. Of course, the key piece is that book of the end would only have worked AFTER Ywach broke the Ichigo's sword. Too early and Ywach would not have crossed the point where he believed he had dealt with it, causing him to break it in the new past. Aizen kept Ywach from noticing book of the end, and book of the end reset the sword's destruction. Both were required, and both had to be applied at the right time or it would have failed.

  • @nielsdegroot2997

    I always explained it as Yhwach being able to see every potential future and choose which 'split' in the timeline to let happen. 'Book of the End' makes a split in the timeline before the split that Yhwach foresaw and decided on, thus making it so Yhwach's split never even came up. I think this is pretty much what you also meant? (Really hard to explain it text, very easy with a visual aid).
    Also; I think Aizen may have just realised that Yhwach saw an ambush coming, or expected it to happen himself (remember that Aizen planned over 100 years into the future). He then uses his 'Perfect Hypnosis' to make Yhwach live through a rough duplicate. Yhwach thinks he has dealt with that threat so he doesn't expect the real ambush to still be in the future.
    Then again; what is 'real' when Aizen is involved...

      Although Aizen helping Soul Society was confusing, I really enjoyed his appearance on the final battle. Not only that, seeing that Tsukishima’s Book of the End was one of the responsible for Yhwach’s fall blew my mind! He did create a past where he had helped Ichigo defeat the enemy (as he had alleged back in the Fullbring arc).

    If Aizen could control Ywach's perception of the future, then Aizen might have done so because he saw that in one of the possibilities that Ywach could have seen that Uryu shoot him with the arrow.
    Or maybe Aizen could have planned this ever since Ywach fell under kyokasuigetsu and made it so the correct circumstances happened to lead to Ywach's death.
