I love the parallel between Gin and Tosen. Tosen was blind to the fact that he was becoming a monster, while Gin knew he had become a monster but closed his eyes to it because he needed to achieve his goal. The true tragedy is that both of the people they wanted to avenge, would rather they just live a happy life. The hints that Gin and Rangiku were in love, adds another layer to their tragic story.
Their final moments in Fake Karakura is utterly tear inducing especially the apology. The potential and what could've been is heartwarming and tragic. Rangiku trying to find him after taking such brutal damage in battle is a highlight.
I forgot which Light Novel was but in one of them it says that Rangiku made a grave for Gin at the place they met as kids. Rangiku and Kira visit the grave and Rangiku tells Kira that Gin's spirit will always be with them. But yeah, great video as always man. Gin is definetly one of my favorite characters in Bleach because Kubo just writes him in a poetic and subtle way that is beautiful ✍🏻❤️🔥
There’s no other word to describe Gin’s story but tragic. Imagine plotting all these years, killing thousands - or possibly more - and pledging allegiance to your biggest opp just to ultimately fall short at the end and be the stepstool to your opp’s transcendence while also never getting back what was stolen from the one you love. Despite all the bad Gin’s done, you just can’t help but feel bad for him at the end of the day.
The white snake slithers Along the ground it searches Desiring warm Its eyes find something Gazing upon golden light The snake heads forward The light is so warm Finally feeling at peace But it could not last The light has faded The warmth was stolen away Encroached by malice The white snake slithers Vanishing among snow Headed toward darkness.
Also I've havent heard anyone talk about how Aizen's two closest men, Tosen and Gin, both failed at taking vengeance for their loves. Oh the Dichotomy of it all 😭
Though it isn’t canon, there is an event story in Bleach Brave Souls where Gin gives Rangiku chocolate for a holiday and I still think about it to this day 🥲 Another thing is that in one of the novels, it’s revealed that Rangiku made a grave for Gin where they used to live or somewhere around there😭
Gin would do whatever it took to get revenge for her, that is love. He is not a good guy, he is selfish, but it can be admirable for what he would do for his love
As much as I love Bleach (it is literally my favorite of the Bg 3, and second favorite Anime only after FMAB) I think it's a big of a shame there wasn't a bit more focus on romance between certain characters. I know it's a shounen trope, romance not allowed despite so many other things being included, but it's still a shame.
Gin is goated and the relationship is upsetting. Gin does better then most to take down aizen...plus gin saying I'm sorry..is what I love kubo did...the others grandstand but gin says im sorry. Goat
I admit that I find it "interesting" the way Kubo approaches relationships in the story. Kubo never outright says anyone is in love with anybody, but he gives subtle and not so subtle hints to everyones feelings. This is true of Gin and Rangiku, Tosen and his friend, Ikkaku and Yumichika. Zaraki and Unohana.
I feel like Kubo is a master storyteller and as far as the relationship between the two it was wonderfully done kind of pulled that your heartstrings a little bit but like most of the characters in the story Kubo draws you to want to know more about them it is just his way of Storytelling but as far as your videos go I really like did you try to break stuff down and figure out what was told and speculate on what was not told to us as the reader reader or viewer well done sir well done
I've asked both the English VA for Gin and Rangiku if they thought it was more of a romantic relationship between their character, and they both said yes
The relationship between Gin and Rangiku was the main reason I read Bleach. Such a romantic and tragic story... After more then 10 years it gives me goosebumps. They were definetly in love (just look at the poems at the opening of the tankobons), but I'm really disappointed with the ending of their story and Gin's death. Kubo rushes to the finale in a quite superficial way. Now I can't wait for the Hell Arc to know if Gin and Rangiku will reunite.

I think you are wrong its not "untold". In fact the story is in plain sight... its very effective story telling... He fell in love as a kid She was attacked as a kid He swore revenge as a kid Worked for the man responsible to find his weakness and kill him until adulthood used his best chance at the right moment to kill him as an adult Failed and died as an adult "in the arms" of the only women he ever loved Also kubo uses facial expressions very well words are not needed sometimes... When gin said "i am sorry" his right eye covered by hair was almost visibly open...almost like his resolve was weakening or it was the hidden eye that was watching her without anyone knowing...just one of many clues details and hints kubo left us to discover... i am sure there are many more part of this story maybe a certain word in japanese used or a hint the characters it is written in... From a "japanese" point of view its a tragic love story...you could make a historic drama out of it without shinigami and it would still work because its a finished story... Its only from the western point of view that the lack of a happy ending is what gives people the impression that the story is unfinished or incomplete...people have been brainwashed to think happy endings are a natural thing for love stories... However happy endings are a fairly recent trend most western love stories from the past were in fact tragic love stories Happy endings ony exist in disney movies and in asian massage saloons...
The Love Story of Gin Ichimaru and Matsumoto Rangiku is the most Saddest, but Beautiest stories of Bleach, I like Kira and Gin's ship too and the most Greatest and Epic Bleach moment is when Gin tries to kill Aizen himself with the Strongest Bankai Kamiahi no Yari/Shikai Shinsō in my opinion and I really like Gin the 3rd Gotei 13 Captain has borned in September like me too. this is all straight up cope for a writer that spent twenty years refusing to write women as more than pining birds in a gilded cage, never once writing them as having actual functioning adult relationships between men and women, and has exactly zero women characters that are not defined by men around them and are never independently interesting, powerful, or standing on their own. It's cope for a sexist. The guy sees women as background and side characters exclusively.

It would come full circle if Gin does something good in the hell arc (if it continues that is)
I wish we got to see how strong rangiku would of been with the piece of soul king she had
She d be Toshiro s Captain. I d fearlessly bet on that.
I hope people don’t misinterpret this to mean that Gin was a good person.
