I was a huge fan of httyd when I was younger. I still like it and these things were always one of my favourite dragons from the movies. They're one of the only ones that are genuinely scary
Deathgrippers are proof that power isn’t needed to be feared by other Dragons. Their looks are enough to scare off other dragons. They are also very strong and powerful Dragons as well adding to the fear factor 💪🏾.

The venom making the victim poisonous is a genius Symptom. It prevents anything from trying to steal their kills, nullifying any rivals they could've had.

In real life there is only one snake that is both venomous & poisonous, the Tiger Keelback in the family Colubridae. Snakes that see in infrared, Pit Vipers, are not in this family & Deathgrippers don't have infrared vision either. That means there is a very real chance that Deathgrippers can't eat the food they envenom, which means they just use it selectively in combat, not hunting, which i think is cool.

Httyd is such a cool franchise, the dragons are original and differ from eachother (for the most part), the characters are kinda good and the overall looks are really good
I find it a little dumb when Grimmel said “they aren’t dragons, they are dragon killers”, as if there already weren’t other dragons you eat and kill other dragons (especially in the shows)

The dragon designs of HTTYD were next level. Imo it's really hard to make dragons, probably the most commonly used fantasy creatures in media feel unique and new, but somehow they managed to do it.
I honestly do not know how you are able to code an armour that is the mix between Senator Armstrong, Gabriel from Ultrakill and a little bit of Minos Prime. Honestly, I applaud you for it absolute banger of a mod and the animations were so good as well as the effects you put on your voice that’s really good, would love to know how you did that. All in all, absolutely incredible work I cannot wait to see what you’re making next because I know it’s gonna be awesome. Have a great one.
The designers took a spitting cobra, praying mantis, scorpion, and dragon then combined them all into one to make this. Basically a 13 year olds idea of the coolest dragon ever.
Fun fact about these dragons! It is actually revealed in HTTYD Titans uprising it’s revealed that these dragon lay massive amounts of eggs and the babies who hatch first will the unhatched dragons making them rare. So not only do they eat dragons but they are also cannibals!
There was one dragon in the original HTTYD book series, I forget what it was it named but from memory it appears in the 2nd last book. Despite forgetting its name, it's concept remains absolutely genius to me to this day. IIRC it dwells underground in mudflats where it uses its breath to melt sand into glass, making elaborate glass tunnel networks. I'm pretty sure it basically just drags anything that gets stuck in the mud through the ground into its burrows and then eats it alive in the pitch black darkness below. I don't have the book beside me to confirm but I'm pretty sure it also had eyes on its claws/fingers, adding to the already uncanny vibe. HTTYD had some absolutely brilliantly world and creature design, the books especially are absolute gems
Swear I watched the movies and series like race to the edge hundreds of times and it actually pained me for the first time watching the last movie I usually don’t get emotional for shows but the HTTYD trilogy got me
No matter how cool those may be, they'll never be as cool as the night furies, the fact that you can only hear those when they charge up their plasma shots makes them the scariest dragons in the series
I still think it would be scarier to run into a pack of boneknappers. Imagine just walking through the woods and you stumbled across a giant pile of bones and think it’s pretty neat so you go dig through them and next thing you know the bones come to life. And you see a giant eye open and next thing you know there’s three giant dragons, each one with the roar, strong enough to burst your eardrums, and a fiery blaze that could easily cook you alive
