    Here is the simple truth. In those 2 games Saraf is the best player of EuroCup team which led his team to wins in EuroCup and German BBL debuts.
    He scored in those 19 ppg on 54 ts%. He's guarded by the best defensive stopper of the other team which quite typically some 25-27 y/o guy which once started for some good college program and now a lot better.
    Most of current top-10 projected guys would be totally overwhelmed in such games and would have some 2 ppg on small minutes and horrible shooting splits

      I get what you are saying but let's not forget in his team there is another NBA draft prospect who dropped 18 points in the Eurocup game and did ok in the bbl so it's not like all the other top picks would be bad in this situation

      @@itay7884 well Ratiopharm seems to have consiously adopted heavily utilizing young NBA prospects. Likely as a way to draw attention and as a novel team building approach in general. So of course young draft prospects are going to do well for this team, at least if things are going acording to plan

      @arusinov Месяц назад

      @@mikegribanov6105 Sure. It's reason why Saraf decided to go there (by the way he signed there not after success in Euro 18, but rather month before Euro U18). But it doesn't mean he will get minutes without proving himself to be ready to lead team in G-BBL and EuroCup

      @@arusinov it doesnt necessarily but it could mean that they are investing "reps' into him. Perhaps on their current roster he would indeed be the best option but ithey could have aquired someone else but chose to live and die by Saraf's talent and youth

    Great vid!
    I love his ball manipulating - he needs to clean his dribble just a bit, get stronger (which is way way easier in the NBA than it is in Europe), and keep working on his shot, and he can be a very very good NBA player…

    My take on him is this, if he can improve his explosiveness and acceleration, I’m sold on him as a top 3 pick in this strong draft. Question is how possible it is to improve these physical traits with NBA trainings.

      I would argue his acceleration is one of his biggest strengths. He’s constantly beating defenders with a quick first step through hesitations and other dribble moves.

    For those who watched Euro basketball between 1995-2000 remembers Oded Katash (Maccabi coach today). Katash signed a contract with the late 90’ Knicks, but decided to go back to Europe because of the NBA strike of 99.
    So, Saraf reminds Katash tremendously, only that he’s 6-6 while Katash was 6-4, and Saraf is left-handed which is a huge advantage.
    There’s no doubt that this guy can play at the NBA level

    Don’t know why nobody is mentioning how inefficient he was as a jump shooter during eurobasket. Sure he gets to his spots and won MVP but the dude shot like 35% on jumpers inside of the 3. His mechanics are good but before i recognize it as a strength he needs to knock it down.

He's actually pretty good in getting to the rim, and he's also good with short midrange pullups and floaters, On this Euro U18 he scored 28.1 ppg on huge usage (certainly above 35%) with TS% ~55.5. He shot mostly from 2 (per game 21.7 FGA, of those 6.7 3PA) , and hit 48.6 % on 2PA. He certainly had not really bad above 60% success at rim - not great but ok. His ceiling comparison are players like Manu or SGA - not super-athletes, not super-shooters from 3P, but versatile scorers and distributors

      I don’t see him as a first rounder for this year, right now. He’s killing in Europe but I don’t see a role for him in the league, and the off ball stuff does concern me as well since he’s not that great of a shooter, and not necessarily a point guard imo. I think he could be first rounder if he takes two years with this German team to get better
