At 11:19, Alex is mentioning how he could not work in an environment where "it was still technical-based, but the intensity was lacking".
My son (8yo) is currently playing in an academy here in Munich, Germany. While the training is technical-based, it has low intensity in unopposed ball mastery exercises. This is significantly different from the high-intensity training I've seen in Alex's Instagram reels with kids of the same age. When I discussed this with the coaches, they told me, "High-intensity can easily be coached within 5-6 weeks and does not contribute to technical development at the moment." I am not sure that I am convinced? Do you think this approach is limiting development of a 8yo (U9)?

Maybe I’m a bit too late to ask this question, but why are then la masia always emphasizing the importance on learning through the game? When they are asked how they train, they say: games, games, games. Seems a bit ironic considering what you have said about acquiring technique in football. I’m on your side but why is FC Barcelona selling this rubbish? Why can’t they be honest about their methodology?
