You funny enough I just picked one up! Let me tell you, I’ve never owned a real vintage blackguard…but I’ve played several…you can tell the new AV2 is in the same spirit of the old blackguards…I will say they are extremely shiny, so that part won’t remind you of what a blackguard looks like today. But I suppose you could dull it down if you wanted…I love mine! The pickups are great stock. ❤ best wishes. I hope you get one…definitely worth it in my opinion
@@Joey_McElroy I actually do own one and we’re looking for different opinions. I’m glad someone with experience give it a critique like you did. I purchased mine in the case with the candy like new condition for 1500 and I can’t be more excited.
Cheers. I guess I’ve been lucky to meet and play enough to now have an opinion. Some of it is based in fact - the wood, neck carves, magnets and wire gauges and some of it is inevitably subjective preference. The market certainly agrees and for Teles it’s not only about rarity (though it quite arguably is for early Broadcasters and ‘Nocasters’).
You last name isn’t McElroy? You don’t have a secret brother from Belfast? You look so much like my dad, you could be his brother 😂 wild…my dad doesn’t play guitar, so you got him beat there. I’ll have to start calling this the pops and Ramon show 😂😂😂
Good to meet you yesterday Bob and thanks again for letting me use your cherry 330t. Can’t get it out of my head! Cheers Russell
What is your opinion on the “new” 1951 American Vintage fender.

great stuff Bob, I've never played anything that old so I'll take your word on the differences and reasons why up to the '53 are the best.
