Bluegill patterns kill it. Flat out and hands down. It’s the most common food here in Northern California for them to eat and most likely for them to eat. Snakes and birds and just “possibly” love the video Jake! 💪🏻
I’ve never been a big frog guy but I’ve been trying to get into them more, I’ve always preferred punching and swim jigs. This video came at the perfect time, keep ‘em coming and slay em on Guntersville!
Nice video, you kept it just simple. Thank you. I fish only frogs all year in NW Pa. In reguards to the color brown, brown is made up of the red spectrum which is why it is attractive to bass. Bass generally see red, and green best. Black and white are color neutral. I fish mainly a smaller black frog with yellow and black legs with an added few strands of flash-a-boo . On my other colors i add purple to the bottoms with permanent marker that once on is mostly translucent ie. bluegill pattern. I'm a firm believer that the size is much more important than the color. Match the hatch mentality! Second most important part of frogn' is the shape . This may help a hookset or slightly impead a set. If i had one frog to use it would be a 2" black frog. My " little black frog will handle 4-7# ers with no trouble getting deep top of the roof of the mouth hooksets.. Frog fishing isn't for everybody but the blow ups and average size of landed LM Bass are bigger. Again well done presentation. AKA The Frogman 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏
nice fishin all week! 2 hours left in the champ round and im here to say congrats on another dub. way to respond after a tough couple events! 2 sixers yesterday!? looks like Adrians having a good event as well two sixes today and 2 hours to get rid of some of those 2lbers only 1lb out of second. no one is gonna make up that 10lb gap tho... looking forward to watching the video from this week i didn't get to watch live much and curious to see what you figured out to target find and catch the big fish better then everyone all week and if you decided to make that decision based on the new format, past few events, lake history or stage of the spawn. I'm curious to see if one best area of the lake was found or were the fish spread out? 1 killer lure or multiple? should be a good practice video seems like you figured something out right away. congrats again looking forward to see how the rest of the year turns out! good luck!
Once you get the color down make sure you throw on one of those frog tail hooks, you'll set the hook on 100% more fish with it. If the fish blows up on the frog that third hook is probably halfway down it's throat. Academy actually sells them for like $6
Frogs are my nemesis. I have some, but have never got the fish. I’m not sure if it’s my timing, but I can’t seal the deal. I’ve been told to bend the hook’s away from the frog a little, but that hasn’t worked yet either. I’ll keep grinding, but ready to toss these suckers out haha.
Bend your hooks out. I had the same problem until I started throwing Japanese frogs. No need to mess with the hooks. Edit, I just realized you said you tried bending the hooks. Go with a deps buster K. 99% hook up ratio. You'll thank me later.
95% of aquatic organisms are white, or at least a light color on their underside (ventral). So white is a natural color and great camouflage for fish fearing predation from below them. My logic is, on sunny days the white blends in with the sky.
