It’s because all the good lizards are also outlaws and many of them commit crimes too. So they have excellent synergy with the payoffs from this set and those from thunder junction.
I fetched Fecund Greenshell at my prerelease event at my LGS and kinda fell in love with it. When I saw you uploaded a video with it, I briefly looked over your decklist and quickly built it with wildcards in arena - and I LOVE it. Thanks for your awesome videos and decks all the time!
Golgari!?!?! Let's goooooo!!!!! Might have to build this deck on Arena now! So much fun! Thanks for all the videos lately Luca! I hope you're taking care of yourself too!! 💕🤘
Opened a Greenshell in a prerelease and had a blast going 4-1 with a Gruul big butts build! Muerra, Trash Tactician hitting expend 8 is brutal, initiated by the turtle's extra draw/ramp then steamrolling. Of course, a bit slow to get off the ground, but I bet something along those lines will find play in standard.
Yeah. You end up having to chump block too much and it just kills all the momentum you're trying to build. Love the deck but not having a great matchup against red does not feel good.
I've never played against you due to my skill/ability, or lack thereof, I should say. However, if we ever did play against each other, there are only 2 outcomes that I would mentally tell myself for you: 1. "And our opponent has seen enough." 2. "And our opponent explodes." My favorite lines, BY FAR! 😂😂😂
like I would personally cut out one cut down for a spelunking here, just to have the mana readily available for plays or to sink into bristly bill, but I'm not sure if that's worth running a one of
Huh, maybe, but the other 3 drops in deck seem to synergize way better. You'd rather draw those cards than Spelunking on curve more often than not I'd argue.
@@reagansimpson6473 That's why I said more often than not. I understand there are times when you have a good hand to compliment it. But there are times when it's a bad top deck when you're trying to stabilize.
@@johndoe9343 ah totally fair. I'm used to playing singleton so modern is a bit of a new territory for me, just trying to understand what makes a draw good / bad.
I see that you've already addressed this in an earlier comment, but I'm surprised the 1/3 Aftermath Analyst didn't make the cut in a "toughness matters" deck!
Ok I’m super happy to see how the combination of the types will do. Also landfall synergies are always powerful. Question tho, Why didn’t you include aftermath analyst?
I really hate that turtle. It's going to make Standard feel like Historic. It's one of those cards that demand immediate removal, and if you don't have it, you can't recover.
In terms of card advantage engines, because Dracosaur also at 5 CMC came to Standard a few sets ago, I don't see it as some sudden new shift in the metagame. I also don't think decks with Fecund have the best matchup against aggro. I don't see your statement being logical considering the vastly faster pace of Historic on average. In terms of must answer cards, I still don't think it's a good comparison.
Yes, the Turtle is trying to eat the Forest icon in the thumbnail.
Awesome detail, didnt noticed it of how natural it looks
That's because it looks like broccoli.
Beautiful

A broccoli ramp.
@haveiszalfaroqie1628 broccoli I like, ramps not so much 😂

@@nate1004 also, two of the strongest outlaws from OTJ are also lizards, so they slot perfectly into the deck.
i gpt the turtle and 2 lizards in draft. really fun league
Back in my day, golgari had a giant frog. Glad to know it's still in the amphibious wheelhouse with turtles.

Good games! We had a few and it was fun playing against you!
Thanks for the games!
You’re missing the best turtle in the format - roaming throne
I think it would be a worthy one-of.
weird ah turtle
Is roaming throne in standard? That would be sick
@@joshuamiller7502yep, ixalan is still playable in standard
Also the best vampire phyrexian bird angel demon samurai and everything else lmao
Squirrel deck when. Our squirrel overlords must be appeased.
Love the landfall synergy, awesome deck

Heroes on the half shell, turtle power!

Yes!!! This is the deck I want to play.
“Annnnnd the opponent inspects green shell wondering what the hell is going on” 💀
This deck looks insane
One of my first Magic cards was Meandering Towershell. Still a flavorful card. Turtle tribe has definitely improved today 😅
I liked how you said, "I like double Spelling." because it sounded like: "I like turtles." 😁

Saw Crokeyz running a variant of this with the golgari tutor from a recent set and aftermath analyst. Deck slaps.
Fecund is probably my favorite card in standard
Nice deck
@0:11 Green shell? Was that on "tortoise"?
If irrigation Vine lasher ever becomes pauper eligible, game over.

landfall will be a problem
The blossoming turtle could have committed a crime if it targets a land in a opponents graveyard
It only does your own graveyard.
