- North West's performance as Young Simba in the Lion King has drawn criticism for 'taking the role away' from another actor.
While it's not clear who she was up against for the role, here is some footage from other actors' auditions, including some hoping to be on Broadway.

In my opinion, only the first boy was substantially better than north. Second boy didnt have enough breath control, and the third boy was flat.
I feel so terrible for them. There are people that actually need this and deserve it.

He goes to my school and is like a brother to me! I’ve known him his whole life. He’s grown up a lot since that audition. He is definitely a theatre kid and has always loved singing and performing.

@@Bentley_Simpsonbut her parents, being grown and in the spotlight for years, would have to have known this would spark talk about nepotism and memes etc. It doesn't matter that it's not the official Broadway show in New York or whatever you're saying, it's still clear nepotism cause she wouldn't be in that position if not for her parents, and she's surrounded by seriously trained musicians. It's not fair to HER because she should be able to freely experience creativity in a fun way without all the pressure and backlash that adults had to have known she'd recipe.

There wasn't a part. She was invited as a special guest for that one song. The other cast members were adults that did the original voices in the film.

That's why so many ppl are truly upset because there were way more deserving kids that busted their butt and they didn't even get looked at barely 😩. 1st boy is one of the ACTUAL kids who perform the touring show.
2nd boy has the most raw vocal talent and tone. 1st boy was great too. The last boy was great very talented.

She got it because of who she is. It was disrespectful to the movie to have that kind of talent there for an anniversary. @@Long_dawgiesthat “shaky” is called vibrato. It takes adults a long time to find that, so him having it so early is highly impressive. Just needs some lessons and he would blow everyone out of the water.
She wasn't completely awful, there's potential there. She needs lots of voice lessons. The people who set her up for this are to blame.
north west didn't audition for it, they paid her to be in the show, the other kids are auditioning for a different production of lion king.
