As an old hangglider pilot... turned to paraglider...turned to paramotor that was a fantastic and skilled flight. Got my heart pumping...loved the raw sound and no music. Visceral :)
He's the best. I can't believe how close to the ground he gets! I'm a novice hang glider pilot and this both inspires me and scares the shit out of me!
Excellent with no music...tell me you surveyed that route before you flew it....lots of power cables at one point. I just sat with my mouth open through half of that!
Low level flying, for this '70's era HG pilot, powered since and currently, IS THE MOST FUN ANY PILOT, OF ANY TYPE OF FLYING DEVICE, CAN HAVE! Well done. Some of my most memorable memories of hang gliding were low level, skimming ridges, in Big Sur, this vid brought it all back.
As an old hang glider pilot and former home builder. That blow me away. The speed, the clean stable wing. Who knew proximity hang gliding would be a thing. The loop at the end. Brought thoughts of an old friend, RIP Chris Smith.
Fantastic. What perfect video. Even though I am sure you new the course of your flight you got so low I just new you where about to splat something. Thanks for sharing.
I flew hang gliders a lot in the 90's, and fun doesn't begin to describe it. For me, it was get high and (sometimes) go far, so speed running wasn't really a thing that I knew here in California, except for escaping OD sucking you up (read thunderstorms). Then I happen on this by accident, watching a very talented pilot on a slippery topless rig at full VG negotiating this run. I'm speechless, except what a great job!
Dudes, I'm sure he surveys the route, and flies a bit lower each time. Nobody just goes lawn mowing through power lines and hopes for the best. Excellent and beautiful video Wolfgang! Makes me nervous, but that makes it fun to watch. Be careful! 360 degree cam would be sweet!
Hey Wolfgang: could you do this run again with a 360 camera like the Garmin Virb 360? I think it'd be every VR advocate's wet dream to have something like this to show in a headset and feel what it's like to fly along.
Just about the best thing I’ve seen on RUclips.....most HG’s I’ve seen seem to have quite flimsy sails/wings, ( whatever they’re called) ! Yours looks like a very robust ( fixed ?) wing. You sure know how to fly, I had my heart in my mouth all the way down & the landing was spectacular, in this layman’s eyes !! Bravo, thank you, & my the higher power keep you safe !!
@@JosiasRivera This is not pushing boundries, it's just being reckless. Remember, when you are killed your family has to pick up the pieces and try to carry on. It is devastating for a parent or young child.
@@rogeronslow1498 It's not without risk, but I'm pretty sure he knows this route quite well before going very low. It's certainly not on the same level of risk as proximity wing suit runs have. Unlike with a wing suit the energy he is carrying and glide ratio his wing has he can climb any time he feels uncomfortable with what he sees ahead. Regardless we all live with a death sentence, it's not appropriate to value life infinitely.
He said he's a professional pilot. People don't pay you to fly your glider if you just meander around in the clouds. If a movie studio needs a crazy scene that interacts with the ground, who will they call? Someone like this.
Hi from New Zealand , hey Ive been around and flown most things ( hang gliders in the 70s sailplanes in the 80s many hours) and Ive watched many flying videos....this one is one of the top ones Ive ever seen, beats wingsuit flying hands down ...subscribed, happy landings my friend :)
Best kind of flying I ever had. Im commercial pilot for decades but this is the real deal.. Just don't get too close to the ground and you will be ok. Put a distance, like 10' or 5 feet minimum safety distance, etc. and never go closer to that. when no limits are put, disaster awaits..
Now even the hanglider pilots are getting into chemtrails!!!! When will it stop??? : ) This is by my favorite HG video!!!! Love it!!! As a presently ex glider pilot myself this was extremely inspiring. No doubt it is time to buy another one!!!
Good God! I have about 40 solo flights under my belt 20 years ago and am watching this wishing I had never quit! I am going to start flying again next year!!!
Very nice flight and superb control. I flew in the mid 80s to mid 90s and the only glider back then I could hope to do a sustained high speed run with without experiencing PIO was the WW Ram Air. That glider tracked like on rails but handled poorly when thermaling or scratching. I know gliders have come a looong way since then and Wills Wing makes if not the best, among the best gliders in the world and that T2C sure is sweet. Fun to see how many obviously none pilots comment on the danger of this run when, as a pilot, it's clear to see the many factors that were considered before this run, the high level of control shown by the pilot and how much energy is carried through all the high speed, close vicinity passes, only to be bled off in that last turn before final.
Wow, what an incredible visual, i always had the dream of flying delta wing now in the spring i will do it in a double flight in Atibaia, São Paulo, I live near the National Center of Skydiving but there they do not tow, there is trike but no want to fly with feature of the engine, want to fly like a bird even.
Dave Kilbourne kinda had a hand in it too, and he taught me! His 1 hour ridge soaring flight is pretty much the first time a rogallo wing was used for soaring, not just gliding. I started May 1972.
Hi Wolfgang. Thanks for uploadI am now forced into retirement at 61, spend a lifetime managing a wind tunnel research facility. I dare you guys to take up the challenge to re-train me as a glider pilot. I flew between 1979 and 1984, started with a Rigallo delta wing, then a Tornado, a Cumulous and then a Super. Then life suddenly struck like a bolt of lightning! Building house, career, work, work, work, wife, kids etc but soon I'm FREE again.
Unreal! The video looks like it was green screened for much of the flight! Like he's just hanging in a studio with later added background & CG smoke & shadow!
As an old hangglider pilot... turned to paraglider...turned to paramotor that was a fantastic and skilled flight. Got my heart pumping...loved the raw sound and no music. Visceral :)
NO MUSIC!!!!! YES YES YES Thank You very much! Awesome video.
He's the best. I can't believe how close to the ground he gets! I'm a novice hang glider pilot and this both inspires me and scares the shit out of me!
Robert Giggles Yes, I flew with Chris's dad in the 80's. Hey Freedom Flight....listen to your scared voice. It's the one that will keep you alive.
Toughen up man :) its not that scary if you know when to go up :) just think of it as when you are about to land :)
Major Warning!! POWER LINES!!!!!!!! FFS!!!!
No music, THANK YOU! Christ you always hear some shit music behind a good hang gliding clip
Excellent with no music...tell me you surveyed that route before you flew it....lots of power cables at one point. I just sat with my mouth open through half of that!
Wow. I just watched this with headphones on. Fantastic. So much better without music.

I love it! Tearing around in somone's backyard and then just fly away!
That is spectacularly awesome!
Super exhilarating and technically perfect. You make it look easy, wolffie.
What an amazing way to start the day.... much better than most people’s caffeine fix!

Amazing Wolfang. Keep up posting! Congrats!
That’s was sick. 👍🏻 nice ride

There's no such thing as an old , bold pilot. Lets hope as you age, your boldness is rewarded , not the opposite. Stay safe.
Couldn't agree more. It's just a matter of time before you have an accident.

As a former HG team manager in Norway and distance record holder (x3) I applaud this! What awesome low-flying!
That video was the bollox.....That hang glider looked really safe, no stupid music and stunning surroundings....well done..!!
These are just flat out fun for all ages and any time of day!!! Go Wolfi!
Wow! Great skill!! Thanks for no music, natural sounds of the flight so much better!

Such an Epic flight!! You almost hit several powerlines, man!!! I want to fly there with you, brother.
Be safe!!!!
Speechless... Bro that was some serious carving. Subbed
I enjoyed the uncut version greatly. I like to see the pilot work. Nice.

Very amazing run Wolfie, great video, always have happy landings Bro 👍 Gut Land! Liebe Grüsse Chris, Kärntner

Beautiful, Wolfi ! Holy shit! When the smoke came on, up went the adrenaline!
Thanks for sharing! Stunning and inspiring impressions!
Great Flight Bro.......i watch it full screen, very relaxing!
Thumbs Up!
Greetz from Australia
The beauty of aviation and flight. Great piloting and filming Wolfgang! Any 360deg of this speedrun that would be supercool !!! Thanks.
Very nice the flight and the landscape is beautiful
Incredible, that landing turn at the end was on point 👌🏻
That was a sick run! Looked like so much fun.
I cant believe what an awesome video this is! You are going so fast and close to the ground but seem to be in total control!
Planning planning planning and executely perfectly. Super
Beautiful Video! Just The Way It Should Be! NO MUSIC! Just The Glider Rippin Thru The Air! Huge Adrenalin Rush!
He's a wizard!
Great conditions and a most beautiful wing
This is real proximity flying!!! Supergzi! Thx
this is a fast pilot! those are good skills! wish I can fly as good as you do.
Very impressive flight. Thanks for the thrill.
This made my day, brought a tear to my eye.
Wow awesome Bro,best flying I have ever seen the speed and the smoke😃 definitely Top Gun 👍🏻
That is some amazing flying Wolfie, keep feeding our dreams!
Beautiful. Like an eagle.
Thank you! 😊
Eh , power lines and fences and the odd animal.
Makes hang gliding look cool again. Several juicy parts.
Very juicy when his insides spread against the ground
YAHHH! What a KICKASS flydown! We will give you the non-standup landing :-) No music: SO excellent! You fly like I do!!!!!!!
Incredible Wolfgang. Thanks for sharing
What a perfection bro.....keep it endless practice....goodluck...
This looks hella fun, thanks for sharing it.
I flew hang Gliders for years in Alaska, that was a hell of a ride he had. Also, that glider must have an 8-1 glide ratio or better. Good job..!
8:1 is even not that much for an paraglider
i was curious and looked up this Wills wing glider is 7.3 to 1 glide ratio. my old ones were like 5 to 1 and 6 to 1.
@@herbertlaw7667 haha, gut you said glide ratio in the original comment 😜
ok.ha
Amazing!! The sound was perfect!! Thanks!!
WOW! ,.WOW! ...PURÉ FULL SPEED,...AMAZING,....GREAT FLYING & VIDEO,.......JA,JA,JA,JA,JA
That absolutely kicked ass...well done. Say hi to Evan for me :)
Strafing the terrain like a beast!
Mein Abo haste! Guter Mann! Den Nervenkitzel nimmt man gerne (als Zuschauer) mit :D
Damn Wolfi, I love that approach.
Soooo good. Loved it
That was fkng amazing!!
Wolfgang: THANKS FOR WATCHING. Me: THANKS FOR POSTING !!!
Man, you made a 40 minute car ride - Niederhorn to Interlaken - in 10 minutes! THAT'S the way to get from point A to point B!
I felt like I was right there with ya!
Speed run sounds so much more impressive than just a sled ride. When I was flying it was called a sled ride.
a sled ride is when you don't find any lift, a speed run is when you race down on purpose
Reminds me of my hang glider days back in 1972 you can think me and my friends we invented the sport.
Do you know Marty Bunner?
Dave Kilbourne kinda had a hand in it too, and he taught me! His 1 hour ridge soaring flight is pretty much the first time a rogallo wing was used for soaring, not just gliding. I started May 1972.
Bob Wills? Chris Price?

Simply fantastic!!
Nice work Wolfie. Lots of close action there. :)
Alors, on le sens qu'on est vivant rempli d'adrénaline quel kif merci merci 1000.fois , Petit veinard.
That Was Fantastic - I Felt Like I Was There!
I am uneducated about hang gliders but i knew about those things... not just the fact that it could glide this long and longer
Fantastic video and nice countryside to fly
That looked amazing
That was insane.thanks☺️
Dude that was sick, what a rush..
Holy Cow! Those things move.
Ich will im Herbst meinen Drachenflugschein weiter machen!
lol the camera pixels cant keep up
Unreal! The video looks like it was green screened for much of the flight! Like he's just hanging in a studio with later added background & CG smoke & shadow!
He uses a gimbal stabilized camera mount put on tube extending from the nose of the glider.
Este vídeo no tiene precio.incalculable 👍👍👌
Amazing video bro,,,,with no music,,,tumbs up
Excellent job my friend 👌👍
realy nice ! awesome run :D
they should call this sky cooming, or skooming.... "need my free flying fix... im gonna skooooommmm!!"
Parabéns!!! Você é um campeão!!!
You are a champion! 👏👏👏👏
That's ... close ... My instructor always told me that at that speed it's hard to tip in due to ground effect. I guess Wolfie's counting on that, too.
Cool as shit ,thanks for the ride ,that was great
Que hermoso ese vuelo en especial el paisaje gracias por compartir ese video.
Crazy to go that low, so many things can go wrong! But u did it, not me!!
Freaking awesome! Makes me want to do it.
