I remember listening to Toumani Diabaté's "Mali Sadio" the day my childhood friend passed, the song never fails to bring me to tears.
He may have spoken more about politics and calls for unity in the Sadio region but a clear inspiration from folklore passed down, alongside an amazing instrument. I don't think I'll ever stop being fascinated by the kora's beautiful sound, you're immensely talented John, thank you for this story.
