David Ross Education Trust - Primary Music Festival 2024

As part of DRET's Primary Music Festival, all Year 5 pupils performed an hour-long version of Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel, rehearsed by their classroom teachers and brought together in theatres across the region by director Jonathan Ainscough. Sopranos Fiona Finsbury and Ellie Sanderson-Nash joined an instrumental ensemble of students from the Royal Academy of Music, conducted by DRET's Director of Music, Simon Toyne. This short film tells the story of the performance in the Derngate Theatre, Northampton, in March 2024.
