But that's just the tiktok guitarists. Don't worry about them. There are still many many more like him out there, there always will be as long as there is emotion
The War on Drugs... My favourite band of the last 10 years, playing my favourite guitar. Got my first Jazzmasters in the past year, incredible guitars. Thank you Fender!
Exactly how i feel about my Jazzmaster. It's no the famous strat for decades, jazzmaster has it's own unique beautiful mellow sound. I'll never stop playing it till my last breath
This is the guitar that really speaks to my soul. Sure the classic ones are the Strats, Les Pauls, Teles, etc. but the one that really caught my eyes and ears like no other is the jazzmaster
this is such a pretty video. appreciate you guys making it. loved jazzmasters & war on drugs before hand, but this marries the two nicely in a rewatchable form
Adam! Killer video sir, I love the perspective and your story on the Jazzmaster. Those guitars have so many centers of gravity, variables, and points of connectivity. Thanks for running the Caverns too! Sounds really nice. ;-)
At 0:23, I see he's got a Keeley Electronics Caverns V2, maybe a Holy Roar Distortion/Boost, and then maybe a MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe Delay. I'm not completely sure though, that's just what I think, especially based off the tone he's getting.
Nah, no way he's playing a Fender Mustang I in this video. Check the link in the description, in that article there's a photo of what he was using in this video, his jazz, a pro reverb amp, then those three pedals(although one pedal is hidden in the photo, you can see it in the video).
Ashok Singh Play them and see , the strat is more versatile most would say. But you'll know when you play it, they're both the same scale lengths and so they'll both feel similar to play.
As your first, a strat is much more versatile and easier to play. Surely, you'll be happy with either, but a strat will likely take you more places sonically. I'd also recommend a tele, if you're willing to give up a whammy bar.
I find Jaguars and Jazzmasters way more fun and inspiring to play that Strats. As long as you can set the Jazzmaster up somewhat correctly, it'll be an amazing instrument. Strats are more forgiving, and of course are insanely popular for a reason though.
Ashok Singh i bought my 3tone finish with rosewood neck American Series Strat in 2004 and i love it dearly, more and more actually. My old friend. It's versatile, has a great neck, great resonance, it gets even more beautiful after years of loving to play it, it's durable, easy to tweak, has great personality and since i'm single again i often take it to bed when i go to sleep haha. It's wonderful.
This is the first time I'm hearing of this man. Is he agreeing with or raging against the war on drugs? It'd be cool if he was against drugs with his naming.
slorr55 depends on what you mean by poor. There are jazzmasters that cost 2k+ all the way down to a couple hundred. I bought mine thinking I wouldn’t like it much, but it really has grown on me I love it now
Raphael Smith i live in honduras, we only get squier and a few strats, if a want a jagur or jazzmaster i have to order one thru the interner and it's expensive
Oh i get it, damn that suck . No worries buddy, i cant order American Elite or Proffesional too poor. Had to take loan for a few months for PLayer Tele.
Fender, get rid of the fake film sprocket hole! It looks incredibly cheap and stupid. It just takes up space and is a cliche in all of your videos of this type.
Musician whose been playing for 10+ years didn't find any guitar he bonded with until 4 years ago. If that were true I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be where you are now. Just sayin'. Love your music dude but I've seen you play everything. Les Paul p90, reverse Firebird, Les Paul with mini humbuckers, etc. This commercial took you down a few points. But I do love your Jazzmaster. A good example is the song "Pain". And yes I know Adam will never read this.
When you own multiple guitars, there's some you enjoy playing for the sound but there's just some you bond with and feel comfortable with for your style. There's a big difference.
Guitarists like this are becoming rarer.... I feel like they are a dying breed.
Instagram guitar is definitely ruining the concept of “touch” and feel.
But that's just the tiktok guitarists. Don't worry about them. There are still many many more like him out there, there always will be as long as there is emotion
Jazzmaster and Teles. Best guitars ever made.
Strats* and Teles. I play tele myself and Super Strat ;p
Raphael Smith nope
Teles for sure, but jazzmasters are a bit too niche for that kind of distinction. I love them though, you can't get that trem sound anywhere else.
And teles arent niche!? to each their own but man id have like no use for a tele, yet a jazz I could use for some stuff
Strats and Teles are most used worldwide , much more compared to jazz master and others.
The War on Drugs... My favourite band of the last 10 years, playing my favourite guitar. Got my first Jazzmasters in the past year, incredible guitars. Thank you Fender!
Kurt Adams lol, sorry mate I don’t... I sold them all to buy a Jazzmaster Professional! Totally worth it though! 👊 What do you play?
I need a Jazzmaster for some reason now
Always did, always will. You just didn't know before now
Jazzmaster is such a "grungy indie" guitar. Love it
Great artist features Fender! I love The War on Drugs and your previous Kevin Shields video was a gift as well. More of these types of videos please!
Man, that little melody he plays starting at @3:55 is heart breaking and hope inspiring all at once - such beautiful, emotional playing.
That was so inspiring and magic.... I need a jazzmaster.....
Haha right. It's only cause of him that I wanted my first electric to be a Jazzmaster 😂
I love Jazzmasters
I’ve got a ‘62 reissue, and the more I play it the more I like it. A wonderful guitar. 👍🏻
Exactly how i feel about my Jazzmaster. It's no the famous strat for decades, jazzmaster has it's own unique beautiful mellow sound. I'll never stop playing it till my last breath
What a sweet jazzmaster.
This is the guitar that really speaks to my soul. Sure the classic ones are the Strats, Les Pauls, Teles, etc. but the one that really caught my eyes and ears like no other is the jazzmaster
What is that beautiful melody he is playing in the beggining holy shit
Its called "Effects Pedals".
this is such a pretty video. appreciate you guys making it. loved jazzmasters & war on drugs before hand, but this marries the two nicely in a rewatchable form
Adam! Killer video sir, I love the perspective and your story on the Jazzmaster. Those guitars have so many centers of gravity, variables, and points of connectivity. Thanks for running the Caverns too! Sounds really nice. ;-)
Robert Keeley I keep seeing you comment on videos I’m watching haha. Caverns V2 is my favorite pedal hands down, you make great stuff man. Thanks
Love the Jazzmaster!
Thank you Fender, so great.
Adam isn't very technical, but he's the best damn ambiance guitarist since the great Gilmour.
This guy is a real player. Doesn't mind modding a vintage guitar to get the best out of it.
Underrated guitar ...
This video series is great! Who is producing them?? Love The War on Drugs too!
Adam Granduciel himself. He does alot of the instruments in the band, probably because he is kind of a perfectionist.
@@nickklok4955 thanks but I was referring to the video production... but yea, I love the stuff Adam is doing!
Mostly it is Adam, but for the last two albums he brought Shawn Everett in to record and mix as well
What a great video. Keep stuff like this and the Kevin Shields videos coming.
Love ya
Great tone
The walrus julia chorus mate!
Awesome video my friends hope you all are doing well!!!🤠👍🦅🎸🦅
Can someone please tell me what effect amp he use for first melody? Its soothing
does anyone know what's on his pedal board here? sounds cool
Some expensive shit...
No i actually figured it out for real its 1 of the presets from a fender mustang 1. No pedalboard. Pure fender mustang 1.
Nah, no way he's playing a Fender Mustang I in this video. Check the link in the description, in that article there's a photo of what he was using in this video, his jazz, a pro reverb amp, then those three pedals(although one pedal is hidden in the photo, you can see it in the video).
Does any of the guys in these commercials actually play new Jazzmasters?
Maybe they would if Fender would make proper Jazzmasters again from the factory. Not the V-Mod garbage or with Strat vibratos.
No because fender peaked in 1964.
Most of the time Adam does, he only occasionally uses that 60s jazzmaster
😍😍
what pedals
Adam Granduciel is such a dude
Are you still a Philly band?
Should I buy a strat or a Jazzmaster as my first electric guitar ?
Ashok Singh Play them and see , the strat is more versatile most would say. But you'll know when you play it, they're both the same scale lengths and so they'll both feel similar to play.
As your first, a strat is much more versatile and easier to play. Surely, you'll be happy with either, but a strat will likely take you more places sonically.

Go jazzmaster

What effects are being used here
I have enough for a Tele.. yet I want this also! :(
Tele first
I heard the Walrus Julia here.
Louis Froidevaux same
I think that is mine, a "friend" basically stole it from me in like 1980 or so...
This must be rodrigo duterte's favorite band
Don't know about Duterte, but Nixon would've loved the band...or not!! 😉
this made me smile for the first time this morning thank you so much
Why the subtitles?
This is the first time I'm hearing of this man. Is he agreeing with or raging against the war on drugs? It'd be cool if he was against drugs with his naming.
I think he’s straight edge now...I don’t think the band ever took a position on it, or has written any songs about drugs
What i would do to just sit quietly in that rehearsal space....shit im 10 miles away from it
May i get one? Im poor☹️
slorr55 depends on what you mean by poor. There are jazzmasters that cost 2k+ all the way down to a couple hundred. I bought mine thinking I wouldn’t like it much, but it really has grown on me I love it now
The Lowmein i cant even afford a $500+ one lol
Do you live in Ukraine , Romania or Africa? Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar costs 350 $ usd new. Used can be even 250$
Raphael Smith i live in honduras, we only get squier and a few strats, if a want a jagur or jazzmaster i have to order one thru the interner and it's expensive
Oh i get it, damn that suck . No worries buddy, i cant order American Elite or Proffesional too poor. Had to take loan for a few months for PLayer Tele.
One thing i hate about fender electric guitar is i cant buy one... 😕
This guy speaks like kirk hammett
Lucky guy, he gets to come home to Jessica jones....
Gah!!! His strap... was... TWISTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meh
