I never miss an opportunity to watch Lemmo with a Jazzmaster. They were made for each other.
DAMN! Finally a class “A” demo that showcases what this thing is capable of doing. Thanks!
possibly one of the best performances ive ever seen
I'm digging that color. 🤘🏼
Lemmo, you are brilliant. You couldn't play long enough for me to ever get tired of hearing it. I get mad when you stop. It's always great. Norm better be hooking you up with some real compensation 😜. New title for copyright, "A Lemmo Demo!"
I replayed this several times. Each time I just closed my eyes and let Michael’s amazing playing carry me away to another beautiful place musically. In my humble opinion, he is one of the greatest guitar players ever. He and the Jazzmaster were destined for each other.
I’ve never heard Mike play anything remotely crappy. He is top shelf in my book. Now I need to go play my guitar.
I could watch you play all day and all night. Sublime. Your tone and phrasing is such a delight
Man, always good to come back and watch Lemmo on a Jazzmaster. Thanks, guys! Thank you, Jen!
Nothing sounds like a JM. You can dial a Strat to sound close but it is its own thing. And you can hear it clearly. Of course Michael Lemmo can get more out of them than just about anyone. In a just world, Fender should one day make a Michael Lemmo signature Jazzmaster.
Very tasty playing
Beautiful guitar in the hands of a master. Thank you!
Wow great playing Sir ❤
first song is michael lemmo-living without you
Could listen to Lemmo all day
Great sounding guitar! Thanks Mike and Jen.
That one guitar I still have to get love that color
Holding down the bass over the solo is harder than it looks and Lemmo is excellent at it ! Always cool to see these .
This bridge pickup lead tone is epic! (And the rest of the playing too!)
Stunning guitar and brilliant playing! Hearing Lemmo play a Jazzmaster again reminds me we need a new smooth Jazz album from Michael Lemmo!
The Jazzmaster Master
Best demo ever holy shit.
Superb guitar and guitarist....
Beautiful guitar. Love it. Well played
What beautiful playing. Thanks for leaving out the dirt that everyone seems to like or feel is necessary in a demo.
What a nice change of tone from the usual ubiquitous Strat chime. This tone is easily as sweet but more precise and focussed. Thanks.
Just a great looking guitar, and of course Michael makes it sing like an angel.
Articulation for days. Love this
4:06 is a gorgeous little lick. Struggle with that hammer on/pull off/slide combo myself.
Those licks are super sweet! 😊
I have one of these that came from the factory with a really cool 'flaw', it has a rosewood neck, and it looks amazing. The color is really cool.
Lucky
Maple fretboard offsets are awesome -- my G&L Doheny is great aside from its immense weight.
Someone got tabs for the first loop it's dope asf but i can't figure it out by ear
Name of the first song ? Absolutly perfect
I met Michael one time and he is truly an awesome 👌 guy. And an incredible player. It's sad to see him working at Nora's. He should be doing session work.
It sounds good, wonder how it sounds playing jazz
Love this playing. Smooth, clean, sharp, and full of feeling.
Gotta like what’s under the hood of your Little Cobra. You’re really gonna shut ‘em down.
Great new Jazzmaster! Those Ultras are definitely a comparison to the old and expensive ones, imho. I'm waiting for a Jaguar Ultra (maybe forever). Great Playing as always by Lemmo. Thank you! But, there is one more thing: what pedals are Lemmo using, especially the boost/distortion pedals...
👌
An album’s worth of songs just like that would be great to have, Michael!
So nice! Thank you, Michael. Great playing on a beautiful guitar.
Mikey likes it. 👍🎸😎✌️
Mate 👌👍
Bravissimo!
Super smooth classic Lemmo👍🏼👍🏼love that jazzmaster
Beautiful playing
we all have seen Norms warehouse guitar collection but i would just die to see his ultimate personal collection that nobody has seen before so come on Normie lets have a peek
Wonderful playing. Love that jazzmaster
Oh man I think Godzilla may be jealous Lemmo !!! Always amazing playing but, with a JM you go to another level !! Thank you Jen !!
People slate these pickups, sound pretty fantastic to me!
Fender still gives these some love, their new pickups with alternative magnet materials (Cobalt and CuNiFe) include 2 sets for the Jazzmaster, including wide-range humbuckers. (Fender had Lemmo demo them in their video on the designs too!)
The main issue with these pickups is the lack of output, but this seems a common issue with modern Fenders, the Pro2 Telecaster pickups are pretty weak as well.
It’s just a different tone to a typical Jazzmaster, between Strats/Teles and humbuckers. Get past that and it’s a great sounding guitar probably more in line with what people who have never played or heard a stock Jazzmaster would expect one to sound.
@@3rdStoreyChemist under the covers the look like flat p90s, but the winding doesn’t go all the way to the edge of the bobbin and of course the slugs are the magnets. G&L solved this with their Doheny (MFD pickups are more like p90s with hex screw pole pieces and a bar magnet underneath, but they are also thicker than Fender pickups because of this).
@@joermnyc I was referring to how the Ultra sounds compared to any Jazzmaster with traditional electronics.
@@3rdStoreyChemist yeah, The pure vintage 65s are probably the best outside of the 50s/60soriginals
what looper do you use?
Just beautiful
Sounds great Mike
That was frickin sweet!
what is michael's first song?
This is how I wanna end up playing some day
You must practice 40 hours a day!
@StevesSlideandJazz so far I'm 3 months in and go for 2😂 with the powers of guitar I'll learn that ability one day😂
all the ultras i played had very skinny necks...hows this one?
I guess a maple board Jazzmaster is rare because of Fender’s initial idea for the Jazzmaster to appeal to Jazz guitarists, and a maple board was too “rock and roll”.
So were the pickups, bridge, neck & headstock....
@@mattrogers1946 yeah, jazz guys were no fans on bolt on necks.
Legend
Jazzmasters are great and unique instruments but it always struck me as odd that they were never embraced by jazz players. Those guys always seem to play hollow body or semi hollow bodies. If they ever have a solid body it always seems to be a Tele. I read that Joe Pass played one for a short time but went back to playing hollow bodies. So although the name doesn't fit them they are still very cool instruments. I think they never achieved the popularity of the Strat just because Strats were such incredible instruments that it wasn't possible to top them.
You and Tom Bukovac need to form a band. You guys are endless fountains of melody. I could see the two of you doing Explosions in Sky kind of stuff
Damn good performance Great guitar. May have to have one, love offsets. All black with maple.
At first I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like Lemmo. But now I think he’s awesome and that Mark Agneesi is kind of a prick.
Wow 😊
Does anyone know the names of the songs Lemmo played?
they al seem so familiar right?
I thought norm would have to pry that guitar out of Mike's hand
When you truly Love something, you go to an elevation you could never reach just playing something you like.
LEMMO is just too talented am I right??
Why no Lovesick Duo video?
I have one of these, great to see it on the show getting a proper demo. I love the feel of the neck, the unique switching, and just its general look (the blue is great in person). Not as much of a fan of the pickups, they don't sound horrible as far as the noiseless sets go, but it's clear that they're only Jazzmasterish, not a true set of JM pickups. They're dark and warm, and sound good driven, but they sound more like a thick Tele than a proper JM. I was hoping to get that jangly surf kind of sound, but they don't quite deliver. I did end up putting some flatwounds on it, and I think that sound fits the pickups better
Great comment, yeah the pickups are quite hot, but they still have the Fender pluck. But yeah ,if you want the brighter jangle, this not the one, but I love the sound and great overdrive lead tones
“No mediocrity exists in this dojo.”
(Think about it.)
Surprise..an offset...
Sounding like some shit by DIIV deff
Meh. I’d rather see something Vintage.
