Love that you modelled the tree roots underneath the tank even though you wouldn’t necessarily see them. Great attention to detail!

A lot of good techniques in this “package”! The trees and mud are great! I was trained as a tank commander in the US M60A1 tank and vividly remember our first encounter with a tree. Went down like I was on a riding lawn mower, mowing the lawn. Didn’t slow the tank down a bit. But as a tanker I would have been pretty darn nervous back then punching thru those hedgerows exposing the underbelly to an anti tank shot. Those guys were very courageous to do what they did.

The M60 was a cool machine - it sticks in my memory as the spear of the US Army during the Cold War. There is one on display at the National Guard barracks in Annapolis that I like to visit sometimes. It's funny - it used to be green but was repainted desert colors some time after Iraq. In my opinion, they should go back to the green, it looks more 'right' on that tank. Thank you for your service!

The Churchill is an ugly yet beautiful tank, can't help but love it

Awesome Ian 👏👏🙂 Love the Churchill, it was the first tank I made ‘back in the day’. You’ve really cracked the vegetation, there’s so many extra 3rd party plants & foliage out there, but you’ve done a great job with what you’ve used.
Really dynamic as the tank bursts through the hedgerow, figures complete the scene perfectly. Nice one bud 😊👍

Howdy! Great to see some Commonwealth troops and hardware for a change... Thank you and we'll do one for an excellent subject well executed.
I love watching the select few on U2b that create these masterpieces.... Fed up with well weathered vehicles sitting on pristine shelves and not sitting in a landscape giving scale and a story....
Now to return to my Churchill mkIII ARV and Crusader AA MKI...and here's the irony... Both of which I have wanted to set in a Bocage type setting....
So a huge thank you for the inspiration... I now just need to finish my detailing and then teach myself the art of airbrushing, etc...
A big "Ta!" from me 👍👍

I don't do tanks I do euro trains, but have to say very impressive scratch build diorama. Thought you could of added a German on the front side facing the tank knelt down with a panzerfaust at the ready! Loved it tyvm.

Sorry but this is getting embarrassing, its the level of detail and your eye for these things that sets what you do apart from other people. The skill of a real expert is the ability to make something really difficult appear easy. I walk away from your work inspired to go and do something, just to go and try something like you have done, so thanks.
MY wife hates you because I go and bury myself away in the garage and the other tasks don't get done as quickly as they used to.
    Regard Pat

It looks like in this video you added plaster of Paris to the mixture, but not in the other one. What do you recommend?
Also do you recommend adding the aquarium sand like in the other video?
For a tank hedgerow diorama, would you recommend using the AK interactive mud like you do in the other video?
      Thanks!

    • @CWModelling
      @CWModelling  2 года назад +1

If I want a thicker mixture then I'll add some plaster to the mix, its all dependant on what you are trying to achieve. There is no 'right' way to do things like this as they all work. Some of theses videos are quite old now so my methods have changed over time as I'm always experimenting 👍
