Always a pleasure to see your dioramas come alive..... Even with 40 years experience in the scale model business I learn something new every time.... love your very realistic trees.... Keep up the good work and keep posting these videos...
Hello. Great job. Once upon a time, the German army passed through my great-grandmother's house in the village. It was a hard time ... Peace to the world!
So glad you kept the faith with this one and followed your instincts. There is always one piece, one aspect, one detail in each of your projects that stand out for me, and I rarely mention it in a comment because I don’t wish to take away from the superb quality of the entire diorama. This time I feel compelled to call it out - the silver birch tree is simply amazing, and to see the process in the film a bonus. Once more, my congratulations and my gratitude for sharing so much of what you do. Thanks
I've skipped through this about three times and watched different parts of this vid/build. Tonight I'm getting a cold beer or two and going to watch the whole thing again. Love your work and vids please keep them coming :)
I ain’t been around for obvious reasons but I’m so glad you continue producing true masterpieces. You attention to detail, creativity and true art never fall below the level of spectacularly fantastic.
Again i have to say, you are a true Artist. Magnificent build, with great detal that tree is wow. Great respect for you'r work, and manny thanks to share that with us. 👍👍
Epic again boss! By far the best leafy tree I've ever seen and such an oddball difficult tree species to do as well. Really showcased your talents on this one! 👏
Congrats Ian, another amazing dio build perfectly executed! Everything is absolutely beautiful and so lifelike... I'm lost for words. But the one thing that really blew me away was that birch tree. What a masterpiece!!! Thank you for showing us your talent and for giving us inspiration. Please keep up modelling and stay safe, best to you and your loved ones. Cheers Mike
Hearty congratulations on another stunning piece of art. The Birch I would pick as my favourite singular element, well worth the time spent. The figures look good and will be investigated into when I have some spare time. Great work, keep up your inspiring efforts.
WOW CW!! The tree is just magic, and using tweezers for your boards is a great idea!! I use my x-acto and its too sharp....nice one. You have such a great eye, and your figures are way beyond my current skills, such terrific inspiration, Thanks CW, a joy to watch!! Take Care, Bill. BTW, love your music choices, I'm a big Tangerine Dream fan, and the end music is very similar....
Dude, simply amazing work! I love how it ties all together and your "style" for the lack of a better word gives it life and a unique look. I am fairly confident that i would be able to recognize your work in a filled competition table at a model show :)
That my friend is outstanding as usual , if only I had the skill set and patience !! As for that tree well ……👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍻 A great start to 2022 looking forward to many more
Hi I have a question: what do you do tò pose the miniatures of the soldiers? Because i can see a bit of white glue but its like there Is something else. Can you make a video about the TIPS tò pose the miniatures in a diorama please? Thanks and great job 🎉🎉🎉🎉 23:49
Sometimes its just glue and sometimes I leave the mounting wire in the foot from when its been painted........check out around 4.20 in this video👍 ruclips.net/video/PgbFnvBfhIQ/видео.html
Excellent diorama…..at least I know where to come if I need a good gardener (if I had a garden😏). Great little scene, tree looks cool, details in the wooden house, figures suit perfectly. Great techniques to create this one - well done bud🙂👍
A great diorama, full of wonderful details. Excellent work on all the components. Great figures which fit very well. It's a pity that DMD doesn't also produce these in 1/72. An in every kind impressive work, Ian. Best wishes and nice weekend. Joachim
Awesome, excellent build into such realistic diorama.. Many bodies are rewatched getting tips on just how or what used to accomplish task. Then chill, adult beverage to quench thirst, lol, rewatch uninterrupted from beginning to end.. perhaps a modelers version of “ movie time “? Never fail to amaze your craftsmanship.. thanks.🎶✌️🍺
I am new to 1/35 model making and i am totaly blown away at your talent havw watched hours of your videos thank you. One thing i just cant master , figure out is proportions of buildings , do you sell any plans or advice in how to work out heights of buildings. Once again thank you
Thanks for watching......The basic premise for scaling buildings is to use reference photos and known 'measurements' like doorways and then compare them to a human figure, you can then use these proportions in relation to a 1/35 scale figure to gauge the size of your building. I don't think accuracy is essential as long as it looks right. There are scale drawings for my last project available to download on my Patreon as well as a PDF painting guide and over time I hope to add drawings of older projects such as this one, if you're interested - www.patreon.com/user?u=79428899 👍
Magnificent . truly magnificent. aging process is genius and the filming another level of presentation... But... That tree.. has stolen the show. the cabin is awesome, the chicken's and coup give it huge amounts of realism... But that tree Ian, Wow. if this just the January instalment, . Thanks.. for sharing as always ATVB2U .. Scott Somerset
great work and great diorama. Pity there is no explanation to the colors used. One only has to guess what colors you are using, especially on the log house. Excellent work.
Another fantastic work of art Ian. I like how the previous builds link in. As ever, very inspiring and a first class diorama. You always make it look so easy, I would be interested to see if there were ever any areas that didn’t go to plan! Out of interest what do you do with all your finished articles? Thanks for sharing and taking the time to publish the video.
Many thanks👍..........oh, things go wrong all the time but some creative editing takes care of that, lol......I have some shelves in my work room where the dioramas live👍
Love watching you work it’s so inspirational! What type of brush are you using the blend the colours on the roof? When your dry brushing the white? Thx please bring more content!
Stunning result as usual. The vegetation and weathering on the house set the scene so nicely. Did you make the small shrubs and plants or are they a commercial product?
Not trying to spread anything but my great grandpa served for the nazi and they battled in Russia he survived and went to amarica and changed his name. He passed 10 years ago
This would be early in Barbarossa in 1941. The German soldiers heading east are wearing new, relatively clean uniforms and boots, and look fairly confident and fresh. The vehicle looks in new condition. It would be fun to see another diorama with the same setting, only it's 1944 and the tired, dirty, exhausted, beaten German soldiers are retreating back west in the opposite direction. They'd be wearing late war uniforms and carrying late war weapons. You could even have the same type of vehicle, only now it's pointed in the same direction as the retreating soldiers, and it's broken down and abandoned. The building could have battle damage and be partially burned. The chickens would be gone, except for maybe one rotting corpse lying in the dead grass. You could label this one "1941" and it's counterpart "1944".
That is fantastic! Absolutely cracking result. 👏👏👏I got some veneer to try out and it's so much better than thin balsa - so thanks for that. And the weeping silver birch - well it's crazy you've scratch built a recognizable species! 😮Great inspiration. One question - sorry if I missed it - where are the chickens from, please? Great video. 👍👍
Hey man. Big fan here. Just to say i Love your videos, but pleeeeeease... try to use a diferent mood for the background music. Im almost crying. Hahahahaha
Whenever I need to relax doing a build, I put one of your videos up. The music for this one is amazing.
Great looking log house and birch tree
Always a pleasure to see your dioramas come alive..... Even with 40 years experience in the scale model business I learn something new every time.... love your very realistic trees.... Keep up the good work and keep posting these videos...
Another outstanding video and presentation.
I can only salute your patience.
you brought the past life into images so the people from today will imagine what the picture hold
THAT'S WORTH WATCHING AS NEAR PERFECTION JUST A LITTLE MORE DIRT AND DUST THANKYOU AGAIN 😊.
Fantastic job......that silver birch is pretty epic, not an easy tree to model!
Ian your such a talented fella
