  • Sanctioned races around public roads are obviously a dead pastime at this point (Isle of Mann and Targa Tasmania being extremely rare exceptions), but recently technology has allowed track makers to pick out any public road from satellite data, and make racetracks out of them. Most of the big ones for AC are simply free roam tracks, meant to be driven at a casual pace, to relax, or just goof around while drifting. I find most of them lifeless, whether they're finished or not, lacking roadside objects, or just not having anything interesting in the scenery. At best the ones that do look good don't have much flow to them, and I just don't like driving around aimlessly on roads that weren't meant to be raced on. It may not seem like it now, but back in 1906 the Targa Florio was actually built for the intention of racing, and it was only over the course of time that people started building houses around it. Mount Panorama started out similarly. I mostly ignored High Force, and occasionally tried it with each update, but it didn't click until after the final update. High Force has lots of little towns and villages in between short stretches of nature. Outside of civilization there are lakes, rivers, bridges, trees overhanging the roads, and lots of stone walls and little handmade fences, which give the whole circuit that old timey 1900's look that I love so much. My only minor critique is that the 2d grass looks awful from pretty much every angle on the replay.

My replay doesn’t have a TV camera available on this track. Did you have to download something to get a TV perspective?
Good driving by the way. I am not as comfortable drifting around stone walls.

@@deeo4888 Pessio is a very good modder, with an excellent reputation. In addition, some of his vehicles are free of charge, such as the Alfa Romeo GTAM. You can convince yourself of his work. And the Abarth is, in my opinion, worth its money.

@@deeo4888 Default setup oversteers when braking and off throttle, understeers when accelerating. As far as I can tell, that's how the real car handled. Early versions of the car were notoriously difficult to handle. In 1970 they redid the rear suspension, which is the version represented here.
