Did we hit it big this week game hunting?! Pumped to finally get a big lot of games off a facebook marketplace deal...we bought a car full of video games! A little bit of everything is included in this one like consoles: Super Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation and more and also a ton of games! There will be a lot of work that goes into making our money back reselling some of this stuff but I think it will be well worth it. We also scored some other things for the collection and to resell from some thrift stores, goodwills and flea markets. Thank you all for coming along on my live video game hunting adventures and for watching episode 38 of the $10 Dollar Game Collection Challenge!

That bundle is probably worth it if you're willing to put in the time to sort, clean, test, and resell it all. For me personally, it looked like more trouble than what it was worth unless you paid the original $60 asking. Also, maybe invest in a GoPro camera or a phone strap that is hands free so you can use two hands.
for sure, we will come out on top!
@@retrorick Since you own a store now etc or if you come across stuff like this. Stay on the console. That definitely a crackhead lot, Probably some back dude too judging by the voice. Those PS3 FAt or Xbox are atracted to roaches especially if you smell weed. They love dead plants smell. I recommend open that crap outside or just toss it.
I always wonder how people can get their games so messed up and dirty. They sit on a shelf, worst thing that can happen is some dust getting on the case. It just blows my mind every single time. Please tell me I'm not the only one. :D
i know right...insane, you have to actively mistreat your belongings for them to look like that
Same like I use most of my games regularly and they are in great condition. Looks like this guy had more fun stepping on the games then playing them.
Trust me when I say this some people just don't know how to look after their stuff, I used to work in a Charity Shop handling all the media stuff and some of the things that came in I'm just like what the fuck did the previous owners do to this.
@@retrorick I recently bought a bunch of gaming stuff from some guy to try and flip...after I got home to look at everything closer I opened up one of the SNES's and found rust and a bunch of dead cockroaches inside. It was disgusting.
They get messed up, dirty, scratched because of certain people (wife) when she puts a game in she takes the game that's already in it and tosses it on top of the system or on the coffee table. And that really 🤬🤬🤬 me off.
Oh man you passed on huge money on that Goodwill cart. The Astaire Rogers DVD set is a $100.
oh dang...thanks for the heads up Clay!
@@retrorick they all work, just some as paper weight lol.
@Aidan Eliseo we don’t go away with spam
@Luis Allan shhhhh spam
Yup and that Errol Flynn dvd set is like 75$
The amount of things you considered "trash" that could've easily been cleaned/sold for parts pained me lol
Yeah I agree 😂 but I guess that stuff was all just old things that guy needed to get rid of. I guess that’s why the price was so low
I was screaming at the screen when he just threw some of the xbox 360 suff out and called it trash
@@BlakeBuildsLEGO at
when he put the xbox 360 hardrives to the side i was like omg lol
He's just so hard on everything, GET A GO PRO RETRO rick!
Ive never in my life seen a goodwill that nice and organized. And ive been to a lot since i travel for work. Awesome vid!
This exact scenario has happened to me several times... I always end up buying the stuff even if I don't want it. A lot of times the people look like they need the money more than I do. What can ya do 🤷🏻♂️
Looks like the guy that sold this picked it up from a Gamestop dumpster !! Hope it works out! I would have went down to $80 after seeing the condition.
Gamestop doesn't regularly throw out ps4 games
Hey Rick! Loving the channel! Only found it this week and I’ve already binged the full $10 challenge series!
I did the same, I found it at about episode 20 and went back and watched it from beginning. Best series on RUclips!
I stumbled though on episode 25 and did the same thing, Rick is awesome
That’s awesome! I started on 7!
holy cow...thanks so much for watching Andy! Glad you are enjoying it
@@mrRYoung thank you for the kinds words my friend!
We just gonna ignore the fact that there’s an old school ID or some sort of license in the bottom of the bucket?
Sadly it was the lost soul who onced owned all this...
ha i didnt even notice that until you pointed it out
Yup
Can’t believe that Xevious 3D goes for that much. I bought that new when it came out. PS2 controllers bringin some jack too it looks like. I actually need new ones. Something else I hunt for and collect are D&D books and anything role playing related. This series is still goin mega strong, man. Great work.
Me and my wife were thinking you need a shopping basket when you get these big hauls at the goodwill. Maybe you could pick one up at a thrift store to keep it canon
It is always a big surprise with the quality of finds. My town must be mostly old people/gamers that hold onto their games cuz I have been hunting for awhile and our goodwill has never had things like this.
watching you open these game cases and wondering what game will be inside is more fun than anything
for parts lots, not bad. those breakaway cables are worth it. thats what I don't miss about reselling is the cleaning and the refurbs. although I miss finding broken 360s, cause I wanted to make an arcade stick out of one.
for sure...good call!
The condition of those discs likely aren't going to be nice, but I'm confident you'll still make a nice profit once everything is cleaned up.
Waiting for someone to post “I just bought a house full of video games” and it’s a video of someone buying the $10 game collection 😱
hahaha get away from my house!
lol
Your collection is overflowing!! I love seeing the progress in every episode, been following along since episode 1. I hoped to try this challenge myself, but everyone wants to sell at eBay prices in my city 😬
I know right? So hard to find good deals in some areas.
that haul was pretty rough but you got yourself a small treasure for $100! Even if you sell those console for parts you're looking at $25 each. If those things actually work that's another $10-$15+even in that condition. My guess is that whole haul has an actual value of about $500 before fees.
it was rough but i really do think we will end up on top!
Super video! Great deals! I collect games from 80s on up. I've had some real good luck at garage sales. You know what they say about one person's junk..
That haul at from the haul had some stinkiners in it. Can't wait to see part 2. I hope you're able to make some cash to do the nastiness.
That final score shocked me so much how do people treat their stuff so badly. Good luck dude with sorting it out
I think you did really well actually, Rick! I would filter out the goodies - and there are definitely plenty in this haul - and lot up the consoles/accessories you don't wanna mess with. The power bricks alone for those junker 360s are like $20 each all day on ebay. Nice haul bro!
That gameboy is the tell tale signs of somebody that really loved pokemon red and yellow
You win some, you lose some. Every lot you buy won't be phenomenal. Looks like you still have nice room for profit and still a few games you can keep for the collection. Not to shabby, keep up the good work and I love the videos😄
for sure, we will still come out on top!
I collect movies as well but I really enjoy finding laserdisc movies in the wild! Check your vinyl/ record section at your local goodwill. You should find some. Also check the DVD player area. They place the players over there thinking they're DVD or cd players
Love Mondays and Thursdays on this channel , tune in faulks Rick is back with more great content.
Just found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I am loving it so far. Thanks for all the great tips and suggestions for things to pick up! Hopefully that's not what I think it is on that Super Nintendo 😱😂
Great content! Great scores! I have to start looking at games n dvd’s more when I thrift. New to ur channel I’m kinda hooked.
A huge well done on 30k! Love this series ❤ very interesting 👍
thank you so much Sam!
I collect old advertising and promo paperwork, especially location based branded stuff, I've got a Kenner toybook from the 90s that was included in action figure sets that just takes me back to childhood
Love the woody woodpecker you left on the shelf.
I always check out the sneakers at a thrift shop.
I collect vintage pop bottles! Most have pretty cool looking designs and are retro. Matches my collection thematically in my head.
Other than video games I always look for older McDonald's stuff that is nostalgic for me. My dad was head of sales and marketing for McDonald's for a long time, so I always had tons of McDonald's stuff growing up. It always makes me happy to find something that reminds me of him, and my childhood.
I look for Pokémon VHS, weird and bad looking VHS tapes, and Game guide books as well as manga. Good finds!
Good luck getting your money back! I also got a similar lot of controllers that look awful. I thought there was value but I don't know now.
I use to collect funko pops. Omg I was so addicted 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
I think I'm going to start just getting the ones that stand out to me. Don't want to be hooked like I was before lol
I bet you wore the gloves to protect you from needle stabs lol. Got to love the Smackheads and tweekers hey lol.
Remember to manual-eject the disc drives on the junk consoles. If you're lucky, might be something in there other than roaches.
I would highly recommend putting a trash bag down before you start cleaning in case of bugs, just in case. I fixed electronics for a while and saw that all the time. Also if the gameboy and snes don't work I am interested in buying them and I'm local. I would be availible friday or this weekend maybe.
Lol love the way you reach for the gameboy, that was fast 😆
I used to collect dvds but I have scaled back my collection considerably but I collect Millennium Falcon related merchandise. I love anything with the Falcon on it. Not StarWars specifically but just the Falcon.
I love your videos Rick. Keep up the good work!
Keep up the good videos. Brings back so many memories
Looking at the state of these games and controllers and such, that guy you bought from may have been dumpster diving behind GameStops until he had a sizeable collection of stuff. I'm fairly convinced about that.
Ooh I've been looking for a gameboy to restore. That gameboy looks perfect for it. Jealous I didn't find that myself. Beautiful colour.
It sounds silly but I've actually found it pretty hard to find a gameboy in a bad-ish condition, everything I've come across has been in a good condition.
Rick you missed on that sealed Errol Flynn box set on the thrift store cart in this video. I sold one like that recently for $39.95 + $5 shipping! Your thrift stores are gold mines!
I collect guitars. Not cheap by any means, but worth it to me. I still like coming across video games too. Great vid Rick!
I collect LEGO sets. At one point I collected football cards but stopped a few years ago. This 10 dollar series is great. Your videos have inspired me to start video game hunting. Thanks
I am predominantly a DVD/Blu-ray/LaserDisc collector, but I love collecting games as well. Having said that, you hurt my soul a little bit when you passed on some of those DVD sets. Specifically, the Errol Flynn and The Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers collection. If those sets were priced at five dollars a pop, they had over $30 a piece in value between them. Sure they would’ve sat on eBay for a little bit, but for such a low purchase cost, you could afford to let them sit there for a while.
I’m always looking for retro toys too! Found a 90s barbie at my local goodwill recently for $5 and it sold for $100!😳 lol
What’s up retro🤙🏻...always coming out with very good content for us... keep foo g what ur doing🙏🏻
Rick you do a great job with your videos. I am sure it takes awhile to film and edit them to make them so good. Keep up the great job! Loving the $10 game challenge series.
I got so behind on your videos during the holidays, but better late than never! Lol I also collect board games 😎
You really should have the camera on a tripod or something while going through the games so you can have both hands.
Or a GoPro strapped around the chest...
not a bad idea..i kind of like having the camera in one had though i can get close ups on things easily
@@retrorick Fair enough. Gotta get the best shots.
@@retrorick wearable go pro?
Vinyl and horror films from the 70s-90s on dvd. As well as some obscure video game accessories or items related to the games
Used to collect autograph baseball cards by sending the cards to the players through mail. Now I collect various amiibos and strategy guides. Congratulations on 30k. You and Phoenix Resale achieved that milestone.
Have you thought about going to Family Video to buying games. 1 for $2.99 or 2 for $5
That clip of Pee-wee Herman saying he's starving the editor didn't do very good job and see it jump after he says hello and then he moves in the fan you can see the shadow change and jump. I don't know if you know the stuff like that in movies but that's what we always look for when we were in the 80s. Wow, I understand now a little bit better, the memories. Very cool.
I LOVE the SNES mario kart background music!!! My boyfriend and I are 90s fans too
I collect Power Rangers from the 90’s and video games. The videos can never be too long! Good stuff!
Great videos man! Missed a Pokemon VHS @ 10:34. I see those going up in worth for some reason.
3 Ninjas was a huge pickup! "SCRAMBLE!!!!!!!"
I look for and collect sports memorabilia for all my favorite teams to put in the man cave!! Neon lights for sure!!
I love ur channel u b showing tons of retro items stuff that brings me back in time ur cool plz continue doing this
I get a big grin on my face every time you find Three Ninjas stuff.
Hahaha so do I! Thanks for tuning in Eliza

Haha I'm sorry that bundle you got had me laughing 😆 I had the same happen to me every game was pretty scratched 😆 only thing that saved me was it came with a gamecube gameboy player and disc and some game Cube games 😆
You’re nuts!!! Those hard drives are worth money. The disc only of watch dogs 2 for the PS4 is probably worth something... I’m losing faith Rick!
I recently sprung on a box of gaming stuff that had mostly some Xbox 360 games on the top of the stack, I sprung on it. What it actually contained was 1x Wii U Complete, 2x Authentic Copies of Zelda: Minish Cap (Unbelievable find), 1x Loose Copy of Super Mario U, 4 PsP Games, a 360 Kinect, 2 360 Controllers, a PSP Power Plug, 10 various 360, Xbox One and PS4 games. I've made about 250 off that purchase now and tons of stuff is still listed. Those Minish Cap Carts were GOLD and were hidden in the box, it was WELL worth the purchase. I spent another 50 and got a slightly damaged DS with 25 Games off another lady and Im flipping that by repairing the shell with a aftermarket clear one and selling it back out for 75 and the games are around 6 each
Me and my husband love your channel were collector's to love see this
3 NINJAS!!!!! I love that movie! As well as the original. Lol
Congratulations on 30K Rick! Ive mentioned this multiple times but ive been subbed since April of 2019! And the amount of joy and happiness i get from the channel is really good. Also the tips have really helped me with facebook market deals and ebay. (Craigslist is dead) 😃📼 ps: i started a small thing where im de yellowing people’s Nintendo stuff. NES, SNES, ETC. and im getting a bit of money from it. The nintendo gets SO YELLOW!
Other than Video Games, I collect CDS of artists that I listen to as well as Donald Duck memorabilia. I look forward to Monday's to watch a new $10 Collection video!
I collect action figures & comic's. The whole family loves going thrifting but that's what i hunt for. Love watching you pick though. Fun show
26:02 when your parents want you to get a job. Funny the tone of voice Rick said it in
haha i dont know what is wrong with me
My entire childhood is in this dudes room 🤯😱
Nice finds this week. Other things i collect is totaku figures.
My goodwill ships every electronic off and only keeps cloths. They're also trying to be a boutique setup when they just aren't.
Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes. I’d personally have backed out at that point when you saw how awful some of the consoles looked. Yuck. Glad to see your valiant efforts!
i got some stuff from garage sales or facebook some stuff so gross like how you gonna put it like that i just throw away cant stand it
I probably would have been like, yikes this is in worse shape than I thought it was. I’d do the original asking price 🤦♂️
its better to take everything, especially when you spot one or two things you actually do want in the pile
90% of that stuff still has value. I got a broken Xbox 360 as part of a bundle last week, and ended up selling it for parts on eBay for $30.
You can buy a new plastic casing for the gameboy color. I bought one on eBay that was a yellow pikachu design and it looked awesome! Super easy to replace as well.
I definitely would still buy all of that after seeing the mud, and whatnot. I frequently take apart and clean up consoles and repair controller thumbsticks. I actually like doing it too, because I hate seeing dirty games/systems. I've taken apart and repaired around 60-70 DS Lites, and let me tell ya, when there's something wrong with the upper half, then you'll likely spend a lot of time taking it apart to get there and not to mention, putting it back together only to realize you forgot to put something back in the right place and having to take it apart again, lol
Take $80 of the game fund & spend on a storage rack ;)
Love the content. Thank You & Peace!
dude im about too! Its getting out of control
The condition of the games and consoles in the 100 dollar lot was heartbreaking. Especially painful was the state of the SNES, ouch! It had mud on it......MUD!
I enjoy collecting dvds as well as games. Mostly into horror movies but I’ll get anything nostalgic
After I have watched some of your 10 dollar collection videos, I noticed that some of the consoles are yellowed. One of the RUclips channels I watch, does console restoration called Odd Tinkering. He uses hydrogen peroxide and UV lights to remove yellowing from the plastic. Also check out another channel called Retro Repair.
late to the party on this i know, but based on some of the discoloration on some of those consoles (specifically the PS2's) they had likely been through a fire in the house, that would also explain the smell you mentioned at the end. Soot is highly corrosive which would also explain the condition of the 360's as well.
I bought a lot of similar condition consoles last month at a yard sale for super cheap. Some of them worked,l. There was an NES that was covered in paint, and when I opened it when I got home it was full of nude Polaroids. You never know what you’re going to find when you gamehunt.
Love this. I am currently also building a video game collection, just not as impressive as yours. I collect simpsons stuff
nice Josh! Good luck out there finding some good deals!
@@retrorick you are always getting crazy good deals. I love simpsons so much I have leg sleeve tattoos of them
You are making good progress.Buying used for your collections is rough going somedays and pays off big time others. I also collect Pokemon and Lego.
I also keep an eye out for rocks n mineral specimens when I'm hunting
Its sad that we dont have these kind of stores in my country. I would love to do this but sadly its not going to work.
Need to get you a gopro with a headmount so you have 2 hands free! I need to look through my controllers and start selling. I'm striking OUT on trying to get rid of stuff locally
I collect mostly video game but have got almost all the ones I want. Kind of moving towards toys from childhood now.
One thing that I collect other than video games is stuffed anmails I just love then and they bring me alot of joy
I have a Tote in my basement of "borken" consoles (SNES, PS1s, and NES parts) I got it all for 5 bucks and it is all nasty... I have not gone through it yet waiting for a good cold snowy day to go through it. So I can relate to this dirty mess.
I had a deal like this last week.. got a few 360's and what looked like 50-70 games.. but at least half were empty cases... most were pretty scratched... still think I did okay... but it was not as good as I thought...
Apart from classic video games, I collect Christian Heavy Metal albums. Currently have about 1100 CDs in my collection.
I didnt know the KRUSTY krab sold video games and consoles? Haha.
Fingers crossed that most everything cleans up and tests well!
I have been collecting strategy guides as well as video games/systems.
I collect mainly movies, but collect all forms of physical media - cds/records, video games. I have a channel dedicated to it. Love 3 Ninjas wish they came out with a set of them on Blu-Ray. That stinks on the lot but luckily should make your money back and then some. Great video as always!!
Awesome video as usual. I actually collect movies as well lol I also sort of collect shoes(just a small collection) I recently bought a small video game lot and there was a PS4 controller with the thumb sticks broken off and I’m just like how is it that someone did that lol
Awesome video new subscriber here thanks for the tips & content
