One in four people apparently experience violent self hate. What’s really shocking is so many people are unaware of this. It was true in my own life. So I created this EFT Tapping video to help you to process the self-hatred, acknowledge the cruel, spiteful voices which are maybe saying things like:
I don’t like who I am.
I’m a piece of sh¡t.
I am ashamed of myself.
I have to hide who I really am.
I am repulsive.
I’m going to fail.
I’ve acted badly across my whole life.
There’s something fundamentally wrong with me.
I am a terrible person.
We’ll look at where these thoughts and voices originate and give love to the younger version of ourselves who was bullied, hated and neglected.
The truth is that you are worthy of love and this video aims to teach you HOW to love yourself. Instead of attacking yourself, what would your life be like if you were BY your side and ON your side?

I had a self-belief “I’m a bad girl” and I realised it was self-hatred… thank you for the video. I went from 9 to 3. I’ll repeat it a couple of times.

Another amazing video. I’ve been suffering for 6 years with over 30 different medical diagnoses like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, full body nerve pain and so many more with 200+ symptoms- all due to childhood trauma and complex ptsd and a life of stress. I’ve started healing myself holistically the past year and found eft but didn’t like anyone else’s videos but yours! I’m focusing on self love at the moment and compassion. If you ever have the time, please do a video on obsessively “fixing” yourself. I haven’t done anything I enjoy for years as I try to do 1000x healing things a day :( also one on feeling “trapped” as I feel trapped in my pain and situation, the abandonment wound from childhood or any on healing chronic pain from trauma! (If you can have the time of course, just a suggestion!)

I started at about an 10 for self hate and after tapping I felt a familiar union with the inner child and we actually started tapping together!!!! It was amazing the visualization you had. It’s a work in progress for sure. Self hatred was a 3 after tapping.

I started as a 10 and sobbing through the whole first several minutes, and, though the video got interrupted by me taking a phone call and then starting the video back over and not feeling nearly as intensely at that point, by the end of it I am sitting around a 5. I feel as though it might come back easily, as it has been around at least since being a teenager, yet I also feel significant relief. It was really reassuring and normalizing and humanizing to hear your statistic of 1 in 4 at the beginning of this video. Because, of course, part of this whole thing is thinking you are one of the only ones who feels this way (which is also what bullies do -- make you feel different or excluded or like an outsider) or like there is something wrong with feeling this way. And something about your voice and the way you said things made me really believe them. For some reason I also really appreciated that you called it specifically "violent self hate." I felt like you acknowledged just how awful, awful, awful, awful it feels to feel that way. Thank you. I am going to check out more of your other videos. I wonder if coming back and doing this one again at some point would continue to help.

Dear Jennifer, I'm so glad I found your channel, recently. I have had doubt, criticism and self-hatred for as far as back as I can remember, but this was the first time I could actually acknowledge that I wasn't born this way! Wow... what a profound thought, thank you for all that you do, really... I started this session at a 7 on the scale, cried almost the whole way through, and finished it at a 4... Mine is from not healing from what I'm dealing with, and comparing myself to others who are doing better from same issue, so i feel a failure and hate myself because I try so hard. I'm now seeing it probably came from way back, it's just intense now. I don't accept myself, it's hard to say. I accept myself.
Thank you for your honest share, Katy. You're not alone! This is something that many people feel. I hope you'll keep Tapping. And I highly recommend changing the wording of the statements in my video from "I love and accept myself" to "I'm open to loving and accepting myself" or "I'm learning to love and accept myself." whichever statement feels easiest to say. I came here when I realized there is hate/anger towards myself while I was following the video on anger towards others. I immediately felt this is something big for me. And then I cried like a child doing this session. I can't really put a number on it. I just feel much calmer now, while I am a bit dazed by the intensity. Wow thankyou so much for this video! I cant wait to check out your others. I found this video after realizing I had deep self hating thoughts from childhood wounds. I have done other EFT videos but this one had such a profound impact on my emotional state. I felt like I was at a 10 at the beginning and dropped to a 2 by the end. The hatred initially felt like prickling thorns and had then transmuted to bubbles by the end. Realizing that those thoughts were internalized when I was much younger from bullies & then experiencing the love from my inner child was life changing. Thankyou so much 💖

I have been seized by pain in my shoulder and neck that I thought the root cause was from playing tennis. In desperate attempts to release the pain, I remembered tapping and little by little, I've been getting to the bottom of the intense pain. This tapping session is the one where I could finally feel where the true issue lies and a very mild flood of relief was the result. Thank you, Jennifer. I intend to explore with you further. I have a question. Is there a tipping you recommend for being present in the moment?
I’ve been struggling with presence lately. I know part of it is from chemo meds I have to take. I miss being present esp in my intimate relationship.

Hi Debra, Thank you for your question. Here's how I recommend to Tap to be more present in each moment:
Start Tapping on the backside of the hand & repeat aloud:
I’ve been struggling with staying present.
Tap between the eyebrows:
I acknowledge that it’s been really hard for me to be present lately.
For the following sentences, keep moving through the Tapping points:
I love and forgive myself for struggling to stay present.
Part of me believes if I was able to be more present, then I’d be a better person [/partner/employee/parent/…]
I love and forgive myself for withholding love from myself.
Nothing needs to change in order for me to be completely worthy of my love.
I’m doing the best I can in challenging situations.
I love and forgive myself for being so distracted.
I love and forgive myself for struggling to stay present.
I’m open to the possibility of loving myself exactly where I’m at.
Sometimes it’s hard for me to be present because the present moment SUCKS!
And I don’t want to be present!
I’d rather hide away in my fantasies.
And that’s totally understandable.
Life can be really challenging sometimes.
And even when life is challenging I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
I wonder what it would be life, to allow myself to be fully present, even when life is tough?
I’m curious to discover what life would be like, if I chose to keep an open heart and stayed present even when things are challenging or painful.
Because I’m committed to loving and accepting myself every step of the way.
I am completely worthy of my love, right where I’m at with this.
I’m open to the possibility of staying just a little more present throughout each day.
And even if I don’t manage, I love and forgive myself in advance.
I’m human and it’s okay that I forget things and make mistakes.
And I’m open to the possibility of being just 10% more present today.
I love and forgive myself for struggling to stay present in the past. I know it’s because… {insert reason}…
While this is a very (VERY) good reason and it’s completely understandable if I continue to be distracted into the past or future, I’m open to the possibility that now I’m putting my loving attention on this issue, it’s starting to dissolve into the strength of my love.
I’m choosing to love myself.
