    My friend and I have been commissioned to paint a mural on the outside wall of a local business and I'm terrified. I really don't want to mess it up. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you!

    Years ago in high school I was asked to do a mural for them. I never thought of using a projector. That's brilliant. Probably head back over there and see if they still want it.

    • @Jazza
      @Jazza  10 лет назад +21

      It can be good, OR a pain in the ass, be aware of 2 things, 1 - it casts an annoying shadow the whole time, and 2 - the picture can distort based on where it's placed, or move.

    • @thomasrainbow
      @thomasrainbow 7 лет назад +9

    Why does his Australian accent seem more Australian in this than it is nowadays

    • @sassyalligator7683
      @sassyalligator7683 6 лет назад +27

      I noticed that too. When he starts getting a little more relaxed towards the end of the video you can here a bit of today's Jazza come out. I think he was nervous or maybe not quite comfortable in front of the camera. It's sort of like having a "phone voice" and a "normal voice" where you tend to talk differently in different settings. Ex: My voice loses it's southern accent and gets higher in pitch when I talk to people I don't know very well.

    • @chrispile1001

    I’m painting a Toy Story mural at the moment and had been trying to figure out the best way to transfer the drawing to the wall. I ended up drawing it to scale on thin paper and flipping the paper on to the wall, then scribble over the back to transfer the pencil lines to the wall. I worked really well and was much quicker.
    Also, regarding the permanent marker outlines and the difference in contrast between the paint and pen, I’m using POSCA paint markers. These solve that problem.
    A great video and a fantastic mural! 👍

    Painting tip: if you're gonna have to repaint some part of your mural(hopefully not) or just repaint your house, you'll notice that paint comes off very hard. So, before painting you can wash you hands with soap just like you normally wash but when you're about removing all the soap from your hands - don't do it. let it dry. and then paint. after you finish all the painting work and your hands are all dirty because of paint just wash your hands. Soap, that you didn't remove and let it dry, made you a layer. when you wash your hands all the paint will come off with that soap-layer.
    Just realised that you may have known this but i'm posting this anyway so your subscribers can see this. (duh)

    My friends and I decided to paint the wall in my math teachers room. We aren't very artistically savvy, so it's looks nothing like yours. We chose to do a calligraphy design of our teachers favorite quote, we had our original design, then when on the wall we decided that it looked too bare. To transfer, we used the schools projectors. Th funniest part was that it took 2 after school sessions to trace, along with around 5 burnt school projectors and almost burning my friends phone twice because we used her flashlight as a light for the burnt projector. We bought way too much paint for our mural, but I found this video quite helpful during the process, our teacher seems to love the mural over the plain white wall.

    1:55 lol i'm playing with my kneading eraser as i'm watching this XD
    Another reason i like the kneading eraser is cuz regular rubber erasers leave behind little rubber bits when u use them and they can kinda stick to ur page (I HAVE HAD SHADING *RUINED* BY THE RUBBER BITS)

    Hi Jazza, an easier way of resting your hand when painting would be a rest stick, pretty simple to make; 1 metre of 12mm dow, with a rubber stopper on the end. simply hold stick with the pinky through middle fingers and the paint pot with your index and thumb. the rest paining hand on sitck and the other end of stick on the wall. moving the stick up and down can also assist with the moving of the painting hand and allowing for more control over your lines.
