Jon! Fantastic. I'm #15 so of course that is my favorite. Thanks so much for altering it. Can't wait to see the glazing. Studio looks amazing. So glad to be a part of your success here and as a new Patreon
Woohoo! I'm so excited. I'm number 11 and I love the shape of the mug!!! And I'm very impressed that you spelled my name right too. ;) No one ever, ever does. Thanks so much Jon, I can't wait. I love what you are doing and the new studio. You've inspired me to build my own and finally get my studio out of the basement. We just finished the foundation last night and I'm ordering lumber today. Thanks again for always educating, inspiring, and motivating your fellow potters. You're the best!
So enjoyable to watch you throw the pottery on the wheel. i really like your beautiful new glazes!! A few years back i learned a bit about pottery at a senior center in Colorado Springs, it was a fun to learn and make smaller pottery items. You made me smile. Thanks
You are a master at your craft! You take risks, your professional, your work is beautiful, and you can tell that you enjoy what you do! Enjoy your new studio!
I like the shorter, roundish mug, I just like how they feel in my hand and they keep the coffee hot longer. And O that Birthday Boy. He has grown so much and gets cuter every day.
My favorite is #24 which was made for me. I am super excited to see it when it's done. I really enjoy your videos and your positive outlook. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing!
THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! Sweet new studio, sweet throwing, sweet shout out to your KIckStarter donors, Mayco and Brent, "sweet heart" mug, and the sweetest Birthday Boy!!! :))))
#7,#13, #17, #22...it’s hard to tell from the top view but the lip on #22 looks more straight up as opposed to tipped out, which is my favored style for coffee cups as I feel they slosh less when I’m walking around with my coffee. I love the twists on #7. Good stuff!
One of the tricks to making a matching set, is start with the same amount of clay. As long as you are not removing too much, during the centering, you should end up with wares that are similar in size. Of course measuring height and width, is also advised.
Also it helps to use like a bamboo skewer. Cut one length for the width, and another for the height and make a cross of the two measured sticks. I use a wire bread tie to fasten them and trim off the extra wire. It's a handy little too too have around for such tasks.
Those mugs look awesome! It could be a fun challenge for an intermediate potter to watch and try! I have a feeling that this video will be part of my next “Clay-Date!!
Wow, your new studio space is awesome! You must be totally pumped to work in such a lovely bright open space. I like a lot of different mug shapes. Whatever doesn't end up as a dribble mug is my favourite! Take care!
What tool are you using on the bottoms of the cups that make what looks like a clay rope at the base on some of the mugs not all of them. You use it on the first cup as well as others.
Hi Jon! So you’re looking for ideas/inspiration for your ceramics? How about picking a theme, and build upon that idea in doing a mug or a vase? For example, for a project I did in ceramics in college I built a face mug. Theme, “under the sea”. I used a sea shell, and molded a negative out of it so I can make positive moldings of seashells for my ceramic piece. Then with my carving tool, I created seaweed into my mug. Then glazing was a bit challenging, but it came out beautiful!
JtP, you are adorbs! 💕 God bless you, your new studio, and your family. My personal fave mugs were your spirals and states. Wish I’d known about your Kickstarter thingy. Thanks for sharing your fun videos. 🥰
Not sure which one I liked best, but there wasn't one I didn't like or though I must say I did like the uk 🇬🇧 one. Ha ha. Happy Birthday to Ryder, he is such a happy boy, my son's birthday today (19th) he is just 32 and lives in Cornwall because he loves surfing 🏄. Cheers Jon from Bob 🇬🇧
Hey Jon! Such a great video... your studio is gorgeous! I hate pulling handles, and I have a small, hand-held extruder; do you know where I could have a die cut to extrude a handle? The ones that came with it are tiny. Congratulations on your new studio... thanks again for the great videos.
Are those Continental's bats? I use them, in my classroom, and have been happy with them so far. Did you run out of squares part way through, and have to switch to the rounds?
Omg brilliant idea for a video - bookmarked! Thanks for this :) I feel very inspired! I enjoy the ones that look like cauldrons almost as well as the ones that are tall and slender :)
Nice mugs! You said that they were all about a pound, what are the other (approximate) dimensions? I've been trying to work on the thickness of my walls, and I think I've ventured a little to the thin side of "good". I'd guess those mugs are 4-5" high and 2.5-3.5" inner diameter? That would make them 14-16 ounces (volume) after firing? Thanks for your videos, tips, and energy!
Loving your sons golf cake! My nephew plays golf and just absolutely loves it! He’s been playing since he was about 2 and he’s 7 now and still just wants to play all the time!
Like them all, but... I do appreciate a rounded bulge shape versus the straight sides. I do like the extra design elements (I don't know the "proper" names to call them...ummmmm... Like the "swirls" on #7, #9, #16 or the "dent" things on #14 & #15. Looks like the new extruder is working great, and the studio looks awesome! Late comment: the new Mayco glazes are gorgeous. Big fan of the speckled ones and others that have random color bits and pieces (another thing I don't know the proper name for). Really love how you showed the names of who gets each mug. VERY COOL! Any chance you will continue doing that for other Kickstarter items? I am so jazzed - can't wait to get my twisted mug, and that would be extra exciting!!! Whoa! Ryder is growing so big! Yappy Belly Button Day to your boy! ~Debz
Can you please do a video about how do you color your mugs... Because you only show how to make and glaze them... And then you show the final result without showing the coloring part... Please please please. And i also have to tell you that you inspired me, and in the past few weeks i have been taking pottery lessons. So, thank you for that!!❤️
Noya Josef glaze generally starts out a muddy color but when you fire it it can change color and get brighter, and the different glazes react with each other to create more unique colors
Too hard to choose favorite shape, I like mine to be big enough to easily scrub the bottom after I leave hot cocoa dregs overnight. But that heart-shaped one was nice.
Jon the Potter is the only potter I follow on RUclips. I really want to find other good RUclips potters! Can anyone recommend any that have as much personality and good quality videos as jtp??
Vladik Oladik hes Ukranian. Amazing thrower. Making a mug is one thing. Making a stable mug is quite Another LOL. Old potter. Just type in this guys first name
I'm gonna be a Dad... You should wear a helmet. You take such care to protect the mugs you send out... Your head would benefit from similar protection!
Hey jon i have a question about storing my pottery. I dont have a kiln yet and was wondering if its a bad idea to keep unfired pottery on a shelf or in a safe place. Will it crack or is it ok to sot and wait until i can get a kiln
I envy your up skills, the only "bad" grade I got in my ceramics class was I could not get over seven inches for a B or 8+ inches for an A, I was stuck at 6 1/4 inches.
It's so strange to see you leave so much slip all over those mugs and calling them done! I am wasting a ton of time I see....my mugs come off the wheel pristine. :(
Jon! Fantastic. I'm #15 so of course that is my favorite. Thanks so much for altering it. Can't wait to see the glazing. Studio looks amazing. So glad to be a part of your success here and as a new Patreon

Looks so great at your new studio! I hope it is a great place for many years of making and filming! Much to be thankful for!

Thank you and Happy Birthday to Ryder!!
Great video! Studio looks great! Love seeing your little golfer. What a cutie!
#3, #8 and #11 (#11 reminds me of a mug I had for years and lost in a move.)
THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! Sweet new studio, sweet throwing, sweet shout out to your KIckStarter donors, Mayco and Brent, "sweet heart" mug, and the sweetest Birthday Boy!!! :))))

Me trying to make 4 matching mugs.

I liked all the mugs!! Especially #5!! :-) I can't wait for it to arrive. I'm excited about the new glazes too!!
I really loved #15! Can’t wait to see what glaze work you do on that one!
Wow, your new studio space is awesome! You must be totally pumped to work in such a lovely bright open space. I like a lot of different mug shapes. Whatever doesn't end up as a dribble mug is my favourite! Take care!
Happy birthday Ryder!!
I loved the camera angle with the window in the background!!
I like them all! I am so motivated I will be on my wheel tomorrow and see how many I can get done
My favorite mug is number # 11. I am a fan of your work. :-)
I can't wait to get mine!!! I'm number #12!!!
Souly Inside #12 was my fave 😍😍😍
Wow! I just saw my mug being made, I am #6, thank you Jon hope your remembered the trees! :-) You live in a very beautiful place. Another great video!
What tool are you using on the bottoms of the cups that make what looks like a clay rope at the base on some of the mugs not all of them. You use it on the first cup as well as others.
KK Pottery I want to know too 😔
mud tools: wet trim tool (he mentioned it in another video)
I'm sketching different types of mugs to make with clay later on, and this video really helped. Thanks!
Are you signing the mugs in addition to numbering?
My favorite one is mug 13
I love watching your videos. Numbers 6 and 8 were my favorites.

Happy Birthday Ryder. Fabulous mugs Jon.
Thanks Jon, love my mug shape.
Yay! I’m #3! And all of them look great! Thanks Jon!
loved how you switched the camera angles while making the mugs it would’ve gotten a little dry if you hadn’t
I can't wait for the glazing video!
Hey, Jon! Do you use cookie cutters for your states? Where do you source them?
I received mine - #16 yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
New place is looking great Jon. #8. Keep up the good work always enjoyable and we learn a lot.

Beautiful, I wish I could learn to make mugs and teapots using the wheel.
Have you ever tried a cauldron shaped mug? Like a Harry Potter inspired one?

That’s one happy birthday boy 🇬🇧
Loving your sons golf cake! My nephew plays golf and just absolutely loves it! He’s been playing since he was about 2 and he’s 7 now and still just wants to play all the time!
I liked number 5, all my favourite mugs have rounded sides, I'm not so much in to straight lines. That was a lovely video to watch. 😍
I love the shapes of the mugs. I'm going to try a few of the shapes. I like how you do the bottoms because trimming will be the death of me.
what do you have in you hand as you pull?? sponge maybe
11 is my favourite ☺️ great video!
I liked #3 shape!
That was great!! My favorite was #19
#23 will be mine, so it is of course my favourite ;)
Looking forward to see how it will turn out, great job and greetings from Bavaria! ;)
Happy birthday Ryder!
Do you used a foot trimmer in this video?
where do you get your state cutters from?
Fantastic! Thanks Jon. Did you use the same amount of clay to throw each mug? If so, how much did you use?
Favorite kinds of videos
For a video you should try making your own clay and making something with it !!
Like them all, but... I do appreciate a rounded bulge shape versus the straight sides. I do like the extra design elements (I don't know the "proper" names to call them...ummmmm... Like the "swirls" on #7, #9, #16 or the "dent" things on #14 & #15.

Noya Josef the color is the glaze

Love the heart shaped mug!
Mayco has some amazing glazes! Congrats on the sponsor!!
Thank you so much! We are happy you enjoy them!
Food safe glazes???
What are you aware boards made of
What kind of bats are these? What are they made out of?
I spend way too much time watching you on video and not doing what is necessary with my own pottery. You are adorable
What is the Patron? Where do I find it
Too hard to choose favorite shape, I like mine to be big enough to easily scrub the bottom after I leave hot cocoa dregs overnight. But that heart-shaped one was nice.
Im taking a ceramic class (im in 9th grade) and ive been rly wanting to make a set of mugs, this helped i just needed to see the process
Love Arizona mug! (I have lived in Arizona for 40+ years!)
Bottom of the mug should be wider than the top to give it a good low center of gravity. More stable
Jon the Potter is the only potter I follow on RUclips. I really want to find other good RUclips potters! Can anyone recommend any that have as much personality and good quality videos as jtp??

And, you have to set a good example for your son!
I love all of them❤❤❤

You shouldn't have a problem as long as it is a dry place.
MaycoColors ok thank you :)
I envy your up skills, the only "bad" grade I got in my ceramics class was I could not get over seven inches for a B or 8+ inches for an A, I was stuck at 6 1/4 inches.
The HEART MUG......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💚☺️💪🥰😂🍵💚

J'ai toujours peur de faire des anses , ça casse, ça tombe, ça déforme la mug, ..... j'espère réussir un jour !
Arizona!
I made your likes to 1K! Cheers! Will start throwing next week. Been watching your videos.
They all look similar
Auwwww!!
#12 😍
El corazon!
My favorite is #21, since it's mine! (Even though my name is spelled JoAnne and not Joanme 😂😂😂) @JoAnnelovesclay on instagram!
#7
So painful music 😵
It's so strange to see you leave so much slip all over those mugs and calling them done! I am wasting a ton of time I see....my mugs come off the wheel pristine. :(
You make all this extra stuff as if pottery itself isn’t cool enough😐😐😐.
