One of the biggest feel good stories over the past few years is undoubtedly the Southern pride… on the verge of extinction to not only growing, but thriving. Next would be the Othawa girls. There’s no doubt a lot of people expected, after losing their entire pride in a short period… that these 2 youngsters would survive. Hopefully the Tsalala female has as much luck raising her newest litter. It still hurts thinking about the loss of the legendary Sparta pride. As always… well done, and thank you so much for your time, and effort it takes to put these update videos together.
@@allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743 Hi i had a question has the adult Styxt lioness the Birmingham daughter has she been seen recently? I also wanted to ask is the Birmingham daughter daughter of the Rollercoster lioness?
@ochoaguillermo638 For the month of May I had no footage of the Birmingham daughter. She has spent a lot of time on her own lately and occasionally joins up with the young lionesses. As for the mother of the Birmingham daughter, let me see if I can get good footage of the cubs born in 2016/17. Each of the 3 litters had a female cub, the middle aged litter had 2 female cubs. The 3 mothers were a Split Rock daughter, a Rollercoaster daughter and a Majingilane daughter.
@@NgannouSix9 in 2013 they had 3 males, and 1 female survive to adulthood (Majingilane offspring.) In 2015 there was 3 adult lioness + 1 young lioness, and 3 young males who eventually left the pride. That same year 1 adult lioness was killed leaving 2 adults + 1 young lioness. In 2016/2017 the young Kambula lioness invaded their territory pushing them further south killing 1 adult lioness in the process. The last 2 lioness settled in the south eventually controlled by the Southern Avocas. The older lioness gave birth to 3 cubs around mid 2019, the younger lioness was thought to be infertile. 2 cubs disappeared shortly after leaving 1 female cub.
