shoes 42, my height is 165 cm and my weight is 74. I'm thinking of buying a Ride Superpig board 151 cm. We do 70% pow (off piste), 30% track, 0% park driving. Is the 151 cm suitable?
Thanks for the insightful review! I'm an intermediate rider but managed to grab a fantastic deal on a Superpig. I definitely wouldn't say I'm an aggressive rider, interested in groomers and occasionally pow. I'm always trying to progress my riding though. Do you think the stiffness is going to be a problem for me? Cheers,
Thanks! No it isn't going to hold you back, but the stiffness will definitely help you progress - you'll be able to ride faster through more unpredictable terrain and have the board, especially the tail do a lot of the work for you, it's a good one!
Hi there! I came across your superpig review and is really good. I currently ride a 2014 Rossi OneMagTek 156. I am 5'10" 162lb boot size 11. I am undecided between the Superpig 151 or 148. I spend all day out there in the blacks, some double blacks (not moguls); bowls and pow when available, also some small jumps on natural features. Seldom small par, and ride fast, not crazy fast but fast. Also, you know, some cruising/carving in blues on a lazy day Which size would you recommend? I think I will have fun on this board. Never tried a volume shift, wide board before? Thanks for the help.
Thanks! Although it sounds quite small, I would still choose the 148 as the first choice - it is stiff enough that it will stay very stable at your weight, and still have easily enough width for your size 11 boots. The 151 would still be an option if the 148 is hard to get, but if you are getting a volume shift board you might as well get it as small as you can.

That's a common thing with these boards, people don't go as small as they really should just because it is such a big change from the size of your regular board. The large is really big, so you could easily go to medium or small if you did want. Having camber means that you can go smaller and still feel stable, which might be why you liked the small. Even if you go medium as a nice in-between and it isn't too hard to swap yours out for one.
Probably the Warpig, unless you really like stiff cambered boards in general. Although the Superpig is going to be more stable on jumps, it will be way less forgiving and much more work for jibbing.
Although they seem sort of similar, the Dancehaul is quite a bit softer, much more playful and doesn't take anywhere near the effort to ride as the Superpig does. If you really liked hard and fast carving, or were a heavier rider the Superpig would be a good option, but I found the Dancehaul to be much more fun in all conditions.
Waddup Lachie, I'm looking at getting this deck in 151 for Japan. I'm normally riding a Kazu 157 and even on that I have to set the bindings back in order to avoid riding in the backseat in powder. I'm interested in the volume shifted shape of the Superpig because I want an all mountain twin that works in pow rather than a hectic pow specific shape like a Storm Chaser or something. In your experience do you think the pig floats better than the Kazu and allows more drive off the front foot in powder? Also how would you compare the flex, it sounds like the Superpig might be a bit stiffer than the Kazu? Cheers
You would definitely be able to ride the Superpig anywhere in that size, I had a couple of days riding the small in 40cm+ snow and it wasn't a problem floating, and I had it set on recommended stance, so I could have gone back further. I remember thinking that in deep snow it rode just like the Warpig with a bit of a surfy feel, but as soon as it got to harder/chopped up or unpredictable snow the Superpig could smash through it with no problem at all. I haven't ridden the Kazu in snow as deep as that, so I can't say for sure, but I would guess that the Superpig would probably have more surface area and float just because it is so wide. Do you want it to be a twin? Riding switch is do-able, but wasn't really ideal. I found the Superpig to be really stiff, quite a bit stiffer than the Kazu, though the Kazu had been broken in, and the Superpig was brand new (but didn't really change over the whole trip).
Hey man great review. I'm at the top end of the med 151cm (195lbs) and since its a stiffer board, I'm ok with the extra flex. Do u think it would be too squirrelly for groomer/resort, not a heap of park?
Thanks! I think that the medium will be plenty, probably a good balance between keeping the good parts of a volume shift board, and still being stiff/stable enough.

If you only wanted to charge, the Superpig will handle everything.
Hi! dope review! I made a quick spontaneous purchase on the super pig. I went with the extra small (142cm). I normally ride 148-150cm traditional camber boards. I followed the site's recommendation on downsizing. I just want to make sure I made the right choice! Im 5' 4" weighing around 140lbs-170lbs (depending if I'm bulking or dieting) with a boot size at 7.5; what do you think?
Yeah the large will still be plenty of board, I think that would be a good balance between what you are used to and still being a board that is quick to move around and still very solid.
Bought this board based on your review. Super stoked. I'm wondering, did you find the base structure to wear away with time? How long did it last? Thanks for all the help de-mystifying the snowboard market!
Thanks! I didn't notice it change at all, though it was a pretty aggressive structure to start with. Even if/when it does, taking it to get tuned at a shop with a robot or machine with a stone will put a new structure right back.
@@TheSketchyBean I actually didn't set it back at all (and never did on the Warpig) and it still had great float, I think that the overall shape gives plenty of float without needing the stance to be moved - but it would surely get a bit better if you moved it back for a really deep day.
Hey! I’m pretty new into snowboarding and the salesman convinced me to get a superpig. I’m 250 lbs and he told me a large(154) board should be fine. Should I return it and get something a bit more playful? I was looking at a k2 party platter.
Although the profile/flex of the Party Platter might be a little more playful, at 250 you will be able to move and flex the large Superpig around without a problem. Technically there won't be a huge difference between the two, though you should get slightly better edge hold and more stability at high speed from the Superpig.
I’ve got size 12 boots (32.5cm length), should I take the 158 version then? I‘m weighing 100kg, I don’t know if I should go for the Warpig (maybe too soft for the weight?) or superpig , I‘m riding slopes and freestyle . Any suggestions ?
You will be fine on the Large (154cm) even with size 12 boots/100kg, the waist width is still huge on it. I would probably choose the Warpig unless you really wanted an agressive and stiff board, then I would get the Superpig. A bit of it would depend on what boards you have ridden before, if you know you like stiff camber then the Superpig might not be too much of a change.
Subbed for the sizing comments. I'm 205lbs, 5'11 and ride a 160 2015/16 machete gt with 252 waist width. You reckon the 154 superpig is the one to get?
I'm just looking for something that's great for carving on groomers and fun for some smaller jumps/learning to butter thought this over the warpig as I've always been on camber and like it, but would be up for other suggestions (demoing a party platter tomorrow too)
@@nickwoodward819 Hmmm, buttering on the Superpig will be a lot of work, I wouldn't recommend it for that at all. It sounds like the Twinpig bit.ly/2Rxe0Dv would actually be a good option - it has camber so it will be better on jumps than the Warpig, extra width for nicer carving as well as an asym shape, and the flex will be way better to butter on than the Superpig.
how does the superpig compare with the Korua tranny finder? I guess the Superpig rides more speed stable and has a faster base while is still the lighter board.
I couldn't tell the difference between the speed of the two, though technically the Superpig does have a faster base (and comes with a good structure). Both feel quite similar in terms of stability, the Superpig makes up for the short length with the stiffer flex, but the longer (or more regular) length actually made me feel more comfortable riding quite fast on the Tranny Finder.
@@SnowboardRobot ah, you were riding the superpig not in XL. Yes structure (incl carbon and PU dampening) is a big plus of the superpig. On the other side, effectice edge is longer on the Tranny 157... may explain the different experiences. I ride currently the stalefish 157, which has some similarities with the tranny
Oh no, I was riding the small superpig (I'm not very heavy). I guess it would depend on if you want a very different volume shift board like the superpig, or something a little in between like the tranny Finder
@@SnowboardRobot oh now I see Superpig 148cm size S vs Korua Tranny 157.. yes this explains it why it was totally different on edge, thats a massive difference on effective edge of 10.5cm. on superpig XL vs tranny 57 it would be 3cm but that XL pig board would be too stiff for a leight weight rider, correct
It's because I'll spend the upcoming winter at Laax. I'll spend my time chasing deep snow as much as possible, but when there isn't any pow I want to progress in the park. I like the idea of a volume shifted board, and originally wanted the Warpig. My current board is a flat to rocker board however (Rome mod Rocker), and if the one thing I miss, it's definitely more snap and pop when I load up ollies. In that sense the superpig seems much better for ollies and boosting small sidehits.
Thanks! I haven't ridden the 151, but for my weight it would probably be a bit too much. It isn't terrible on rails, it just really isn't designed for it. If you were going to ride in the park (more rails than jumps), I would lean towards the Warpig so you have a bit more flex, and the flat profile will be a bit more fun.
@@SnowboardRobot Thanks a ton! I'm at the top weight range of the 148 with my 69 kg. I use size 44 eu boots, are they too big for the 148? afraid I'll lose some of the benefits of the wide shape with too big boots for the 148
No it would have been an option, but being so stiff and wide, I don't think there would have been any real advantage going bigger, there is a big jump up in waist width (5mm), so turns would have been slower and the board a bit heavier.
just checked out your 2 warpig and superpig reviews. good job man. I am about to get the Warpig next week and I'm thinking about which bindings to get. I see you riding so effortlessly and smooth that I am leaning towards getting the Salomon District as well. However, I've just noticed there's kind of an upgrade called District HPS. What would you choose for the Warpig if you had to buy these bindings again? looking for a playful easy to ride, turn, and have fun jumps around... hit the pow when it drops and just have a good time. not a hardcore rider but I've been snowboarding all my life. cheers man!
Thanks! Are these bit.ly/2D72d6R the versions you have been looking at? It looks like the HPS ones are stiffer, but they do have the nicer ankle strap. From what you are describing, I think that the regular Districts will be enough, I never found that I felt limited by them at all - plus they really aren't all that soft to begin with.
GREAT JOB man!! I'm about to buy a new snowboard this season and this one and the warpig is on my list, i'm currently riding neversummer proto type2 in 154cm i'm about 5'2" and around 130-140 lbs it's a bit long but I found it pretty stable on groomers and fast the only thing is I'm not liking it on bumpy terrains the maneuverability is limited probably because of the length to weight and height ratio? what will be right length for me if i will go with the warpig without sacrificing the stability and speed on groomers? thanks a lot and more power to your channel!!
Little late but you could get the extra small for great maneuverability, or the 148cm for massive float and stability. You might have a little harder time on the 148cm because of how much board (surface area) there really is, but the sidecuts helps it dive into turns very quickly.
Hmm yeah for me it was quite stiff, though I don't have that much weight to be able to push it around too much. The camber would add a little bit to the stiffness, but it was still noticeably stiffer than my Warpig. The board I rode was brand new and straight out of the wrapper, so it might break in a bit after it has been ridden a lot?
I haven't ridden the Helix yet, but it looks like is fairly similar to the older Ride Buck Up I had (though that wasn't asym) - but the Superpig was a whole bunch more aggressive than that. Hopefully I can try the Helix in a couple of weeks.
Sold me man I realized Ive been buying my last few boards strictly at random or cosmetic reasons but the way you described that board is literally what I didnt even know I was looking for but it is fuckkk i gotta sell my board and buy this now
I just bought one of these without riding one. I rode the 2019 warpig with cartel bindings but am looking for a stiffer pair of bindings for this board. What would you suggest? Have a big spending budget
Do you want them to be a whole bunch stiffer than Cartels? The first though would be Rome Katanas snowboardrobot.com/binding-reviews/rome-katana/#buy you can play around with the adjustments of the ankle strap positioning to customize them quite a lot, although they already start with a pretty responsive feel. I also just tested out the Jones Apollo bit.ly/2z362HZ they would probably be the stiffest binding that I have ridden, but still quite comfortable.
In really deep snow they were very similar, but the extra stiffness of the superpig was better if you do bigger drops and if the snow was unpredictable.
@@yamz342 yeah both the medium 151 and small 148 would be an option, I would still consider the small as well, bit.ly/2Qi0S6A it's stiff enough to easily handle your weight, and will be a tiny bit more surfy and quiker to turn, but both sizes would work.
@@SnowboardRobot Have been considering this again with the upcoming aus season - I really like my warpig but it's a 54, wondering how much stiffer we are talking between the two? I have tried the 151 warpig and I missed a little the extra length when landing and extra width when carving. Have size 11 boots so width is not really an issue. If it was just a warpig with camber I would be 100% sold but worried about it being too catchy or planky at the 54 size, was also thinking of the twinpig in a 54, which might feel like a camber warpig but hard to get a read on it's stiffness in reviews also. Any thoughts? :)
@@yamz342 It's a big a jump up in stiffness - though the extra stiffness might help at the shorter sizes when landing. I haven't ridden the Twin Pig, though it does sound good. I would even look at the Salomon Dancehaul or the K2 Party Platter as options between the Warpig and Superpig.
I haven't ridden the Mountain Pig, but it looks like it shares a few of the same features with the Super Pig, but in a regular shape. See if you can test out a Superpig or Warpig, it is worth seeing if you like how a short and wide board rides, there are definitely some plusses to them.
The Orca is on my to do list, so hopefully in the next month or two, though I expect it will have quite a difference ride with the C2 camber (rocker between the feet).

@@SnowboardRobot right on thank you!! I’m just curious to see how it goes when I’m at my heavier weight, 40lbs over recommended weight haha
I normally ride a 158. I shift between 200-220lbs. would you recommend the large? want a good hard charging board
Yeah the large will still be plenty of board, I think that would be a good balance between what you are used to and still being a board that is quick to move around and still very solid.
Really appreciate all the insight and info on this board! Were you riding the Salomon District HPS Bindings or the regular Salomon District Bindings ?
Thanks! They are just the regular District bindings, from 2017
Bought this board based on your review.
@@SnowboardRobot Good to know! Did you find that it rode well if you set the stance back for powder? Did you need to set the stance back?
@@SnowboardRobot thanks a ton for the response. You got a new sub🤙🏽
Hey i’m 125 lb 5,10 and 9.5 boot should i get 148 or 151 and is there a difference? or would i be easier to ride one or the other
This is for the Warpig btw not the Superpig
@@SnowboardRobot thank you! Before I had a Vimana Snow Vufo 159, which is a true camber. Wasn’t too bad !
Subbed for the sizing comments. I'm 205lbs, 5'11 and ride a 160 2015/16 machete gt with 252 waist width.
You reckon the 154 superpig is the one to get?
Yeah the 154 will be plenty, it'll be a good step up from the machete gt
@@SnowboardRobot nice, looking forward to it.
i also want to start getting better at buttering, know this'll be a bit of work, but it's not bad is it?
I'm just looking for something that's great for carving on groomers and fun for some smaller jumps/learning to butter
thought this over the warpig as I've always been on camber and like it, but would be up for other suggestions (demoing a party platter tomorrow too)
@@nickwoodward819 Hmmm, buttering on the Superpig will be a lot of work, I wouldn't recommend it for that at all. It sounds like the Twinpig bit.ly/2Rxe0Dv would actually be a good option - it has camber so it will be better on jumps than the Warpig, extra width for nicer carving as well as an asym shape, and the flex will be way better to butter on than the Superpig.
Hi, how well does this board perform on moguls? Quick turns etc
It's very quick and easy to turn, doesn't need much effort at all, and with the short length it can be moved around really easily.
omg that looks like a fun spot to ride
I ride a 154cm doa. What would you recommend I downsize to for this board
I would go for the small 148cm, it easily has the stability of a board bigger than your DOA.
how does the superpig compare with the Korua tranny finder?
I weigh 110 and am 5 ft 6 inches. What size should I get
I would go for the X-Small (142cm), even though it sounds small, it would still be really solid for your weight
Hi, I’m 175 lb, 5’ 11”, boot size 8.5 US. What board size do you think is ideal?
I'd go for the small/148, even though is sounds super small it would handle your weight without a problem.
@@SnowboardRobot thanks for the tip
Have you tried the 151 aswell? And what made it bad at rails? Great review btw!:)
I use size 44 eu boots, are they too big for the 148? afraid I'll lose some of the benefits of the wide shape with too big boots for the 148
@@noinikulaspaturssonolsen9897 Oh no don't worry about that, the 148 still has a 260mm waist width, which is still pretty wide!
do you think the 151 size would have been too big for you?
Whoa great review!
Hey I have a question I just got the super pig here in canada 142cm and the weight limits says 125bls to 175bls. Is this correct. I'm 5.5 and 170bls
No I wouldn't worry about that at all, that is the best size for you, the board is so stiff it won't be a problem.
@@SnowboardRobot thanks for the quick reply. Cheers
I got the k2 formula C bindings to pair with the superpig. Do you think it's a good pair
@@hiennguyen-kp5cj Yeah those will be good, I rode the Superpig with my similar medium flexing Salomon bindings and it was no problem at all
@@SnowboardRobot thanks
Finding it odd you found it so stiff? Most other reviewers claim its a hair stiffer than the warpig. so almost the same?
Hmm yeah for me it was quite stiff, though I don't have that much weight to be able to push it around too much. The camber would add a little bit to the stiffness, but it was still noticeably stiffer than my Warpig. The board I rode was brand new and straight out of the wrapper, so it might break in a bit after it has been ridden a lot?
Anybody knows where this ski resort is?
Thanks in advance!
It was at Nozawa Onsen in Japan.
dayum this place looks fun! where is it?
That was at Nozawa Onsen, in Japan.
How does it compare to the Ride Helix?
I haven't ridden the Helix yet, but it looks like is fairly similar to the older Ride Buck Up I had (though that wasn't asym) - but the Superpig was a whole bunch more aggressive than that. Hopefully I can try the Helix in a couple of weeks.
Sold me man I realized Ive been buying my last few boards strictly at random or cosmetic reasons but the way you described that board is literally what I didnt even know I was looking for but it is fuckkk i gotta sell my board and buy this now
Ahhh nice! Yeah it's an expensive one, but really good
@@SnowboardRobot im 6'2 175lbs should i get the med 151 or the large 154?
@@david3wrightson684 I would definitely choose the medium
Union Atlas are fire too if you’ve got the money
How tall and how much do you weight?
6ft 155 lbs/183cm 70kg
hi just wondering how tall are you? thanks
I'm 6 foot / 183cm
Good review man
Thanks!
Where were you riding ?
This was at Nozawa Onsen in Japan
Nice review! Try Batalion Carver u my enjoy it
Thanks, I'll try to find a Carver to ride
Warpig vs this in pow?
In really deep snow they were very similar, but the extra stiffness of the superpig was better if you do bigger drops and if the snow was unpredictable.
@@SnowboardRobot Amazing! Thanks for the info. I think I'll pick up the 151 at 77kg, sound right?
Nice review, good style, camera man needs to get better!
Thanks! It's my fault, I got a new really small gimbal and left it on fast track so it made it really jerky!
I'm a camber, stiffer board fan too. Board looks epic!! Do you know how it would compare to the Mountain Pig ?
I haven't ridden the Mountain Pig, but it looks like it shares a few of the same features with the Super Pig, but in a regular shape. See if you can test out a Superpig or Warpig, it is worth seeing if you like how a short and wide board rides, there are definitely some plusses to them.
@@SnowboardRobot I'd be interested to know how it would compare to the Orca. Any thoughts?
The Orca is on my to do list, so hopefully in the next month or two, though I expect it will have quite a difference ride with the C2 camber (rocker between the feet).
