So good to see you back doing what you love. The uplifting music really put me in a good mood too and made me want to go out and shoot! The best kind of inspo.
Hey Ed, I wanted to thank you for the videos you make they inspire me to get out and shoot whenever i get into a slump. Hope you and Fran are doing well much love brother
Wow. Finally you’re reviewing a Chinese camera. This Great Wall wasn’t very common at that time, because the Seagull and Mudan TLR models were more dominant. But happy to see you doing this review!
Yes loading it underneath the roller like a Rolleiflex will only bend up scratching the hell out of your film. There is no sensor like the Rolleiflex has.
Great wall is a very unique camera and of course not that commen. But if you wanna look for more Chinese camera, since i am a Chinese , i highly suggest you to try the Seagull KJ-1(with 38/2.8, made in shanghai) and Huaxia 822(with 40/2, made in He'nan). Those two rangefinders have almsot the best lens above all the 135 Chinese rangefinders.
I was lucky. I got one of those for nothing when buying another camera I wanted. I think the image quality is much better than I expected it to be. The point of the removable lens is that M39 is a standard enlarger thread size, and you can use the lens in an enlarger, which I have not tried. Ted Forbes of AOP said he used one for years when younger and poorer.
Great video. Nice camera. It's good to see you posting more videos recently. It seemed to me that this video had different color quality. New equipment? Cheers.
This Great Wall Camera looks interesting! I bought a Mamiya 6 and a Fed 2 on eBay after I watched your videos! The music is a good too!! Great job Eduardo!!
@@alec_irl I bought mine almost 15 years ago when I first get into medium format. Cost me 50 bucks. It was amazing. Learn so much from using it. All I need is a X sync so I can attach a flash!!!
When you photograph people on the street does your conversation with them ever extend to offering them a copy of the photo or obtaining a model release? I presume you edit your videos for relevant content but wasn't sure if your shooting style is as "hit and run" ( I mean this in a good way) as it appears to be. : )
Enjoyed the video with you interacting with strangers but.... Cotton masks stop maybe 10% percent of anything that comes from your mouth when speaking so by not social distancing it’s basically useless with you two so close together. It was better when people didn’t wear masks and acted more carefully around others.
I come for the photography and stay for the music.
warms my heart every time you tell a stranger they look cool.
Man so good to have your videos back on a weekly basis!
By the way, I love the jazz music in the background.
So good to see you back doing what you love. The uplifting music really put me in a good mood too and made me want to go out and shoot! The best kind of inspo.
As always, just life affirming. Thanks.
Welcome back! So happy to see your vid here! Some nice pics there. Hope to see more! Take care and stay safe
I really enjoyed the mood in this one. no rush, just being nice to people all around
Hey Ed, I wanted to thank you for the videos you make they inspire me to get out and shoot whenever i get into a slump. Hope you and Fran are doing well much love brother
Thank you for the nice video 🙏🏻I like the color style of the photos, and you made some awesome portraits ( the "cable man" is my favorite).
6:51 I loved this photo!😍 also Alec did a good job on his review 🔥
Ok that’s it I had to ask. Where do you find your stock music??? So relaxing

Man... use to live right by there by the park. Miss it. Cant wait to get back to NYC.
Beautiful video and cool camera! I also love your approach to photographing strangers!
2:54 The film should be on top of the roll, not under.
Yes loading it underneath the roller like a Rolleiflex will only bend up scratching the hell out of your film. There is no sensor like the Rolleiflex has.
I too miss these random camera videos. Thank you both for this.
6:00 I was concerned when he looked up right before you took the photo, by it looks SO GOOD!
This was super refreshing... thanks again ed!!!
These videos are such an escape right now. Thank you!
Good to see you back on the channel 😄
I too went out last week. Took out with my Blackbird Fly for the first time in months.
Beautiful swirly bokeh. So good to see you photographing again. The photos are beautiful, as only film can be.
This was really wonderful to watch. I'd love to photograph more strangers. Thanks for sharing.
Always love your approach on photography !!! Keep making amazing videos
this camera is so sick! i love the bokeh and the vignetting
I really like the vibe of your videos. Please keep shooting!
Really makes me miss living and doing photos in NYC
You’re always the best! love you Ed
I think this type of shutter is the one used in the delicious EXA cameras, but these are 35 mil....
Nice video, as usual!
The shutter workings remind me of the old German Reflex-Korelle, but the outward appearance is like the first gen Japanese Kowa Six.
Such a unique shaped camera! Kind of like TLR meets Hasselblad shape.
Love the swirly bokeh! I get cat hair in my mouth a lot too hahaha.
Looks a lot like an SLR version of the Seagull, another Chinese made tlr.
Lovely photos Eduardo!
Swirly lens! Pretty cool! The guy on the red Vespa is a SSC Napoli supporter btw (see the blue sticker).
@@lisaw150 I'm from southern Puglia, but in the past I lived in Naples for about 10 years.

I have a Great Wall and still haven’t used it.
Leica lens Mount but it was NOT designed to take OTHER lenses…
Nice colours too!
the swirly bokeh on this thing is amazing!
The music has so much feeling to it.
You should try contax i or ii, amazing cameras used by Ansel Adams and Robert Capa
Great video. Nice camera. It's good to see you posting more videos recently. It seemed to me that this video had different color quality. New equipment? Cheers.
This camera is a fusion between TLR and Modular SLR
Love this video. What a wacky camera. Reminds me of a soligor66. Also, where did Fran get that shirt?! Or if she made it how can I buy one!? Love it.
No conocía esa cámara, interesante alternativa, saludos ed!
This Great Wall Camera looks interesting! I bought a Mamiya 6 and a Fed 2 on eBay after I watched your videos! The music is a good too!! Great job Eduardo!!
The Mamiya 6 is still my absolutely favorite travel camera.
I missed this videos!
Great music. What is it?
I am trying to find out too..
I should really get out more I'm taking living in this city for granted :( wonderful video man thanks yt for the recommendation!
I’ve heard of this camera but I’ve never seen anything shot by it I love the swirly bokeh, and the softness like the Helios 📷🎞👍🏻
Cerca de los 80,000 😎📸 Te empecé a seguir con el "Cómo hacer fotos a desconocidos" 🤪 🇲🇽
Nice! This looks like a Pilot 6, modded to look like a Hassy, because it could not become a Rollei ;) Good to see you out in the streets again.
the shot at 6:50 is GREAT!
hey brother. do you live in NY?
Maybe not the best camera for fast street pix but still lovely!
Keep snapping
Where did he manage to find a DF-4, it is so hard to hunt down one now. I've got a DF-2. It is the most dreamy camera ever. I love it.
Hody Hong ebay! the seller had no idea what it was and i got it for a steal

This is df-5. Df-4 has no self timer.
This df6 was made in China at 1980s. It's a copy from Germany Pilot 6 model
yes,my dad had one
6:46 Wow amo esta
This camera is so rare that is hard to find even in China.
Dude you’re in my ‘hood. Look for the guy with the F3. ;-)
6:46 winner
Wow... 👍🏻👍🏻
So it's like a Chinese Rolleiblad
Looks like some swirly bokeh!
6:49 Ssakyamuni...!
Hi
hellew
We in Russia, or rather in the Soviet Union, produced cameras Lyubitel2, Lyubitel166 (B) Very similar to Creat Wall
长城哈哈哈哈哈

Jonathan Chiasson if that makes you more comfortable ok.
Cotton masks depending on how thick they are and how they fit filter between 30-70%. FP masks filter about 90%.
