Thank you Eduardo. I lived in Manhattan for many years but haven't been there lately. Your video really captures life as it is there. Great photo selections.
Great photos! It's kind of ironic that a waist level finder + a leaf shutter is a really stealthy combo for street photography, given how cumbersome it is to compose and focus with a TLR.
Lovely video. Perfect music choice and wonderful rendering from that camera. As you say, only a few months have passed but there’s a genuine sense of nostalgia. You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone. Thanks for putting it up.👍
thank you for your awesome video. it always makes me relax watching your channel. especially at this difficult time around the world with the covid-19. thank you
that first skate shot turned out really nice. but how did you not take a photo of the dude sitting on front of all that steam coming out...? take care.
This was super enjoyable - especially as a New Yorker who knows every block and corner you showed. The film/photo format really works - I am impressed - especially while doing street photography. This was also a little sad; we saw a lot of older men, and each time I wondered if they were still alive. A beautiful tribute to NYC.
Those were amazing pictures Ed. I'm just getting into film photography, and your videos are very inspiring. Thank you for putting out these great videos!
It would be super cool if you do the same route, the same shots kind of but now in this new time, to get a comparison of how the streets look now! Ektar 100
@@edpavez I mean in the near future, do it maybe as you feel its ok to go out with distance and care for others :) I am staying home too! but in Germany the situation is not so bad luckily... slowly the restrictions are being lifted... whenever I go out, its because its a must, and I take my camera with me to document :)
Sometimes I get slightly blurred images even using the tripod with my TLRs, so...I find the results proposed absolutely valid! And yes, the flatbed scanner is an agony: it always offers colors that don't fully reflect the film used and, personally, this dampens the enthusiasm in seeing the results. For the most important images: lab and drum drum drum! Always nice videos, keep it up! Greetings from Italy...and keep safe!
Vamos ahi amigo!! Que bien se ve el video, felicitaciones por el contenido, sos una gran inspiración para volver a enamorarse de la fotografía, en serio. Abrazo desde Argentina!!
Wonderful video. I feel like I did after 9/11. There was before, when things were normal and after. This is the same feeling. Anyway, your rollei videos are outstanding, it really is so much fun to shoot! Keep up the good work.
I'll translate the comment he made me about this: He's a homeless who's there every day. I left him on the video precisely because although is powerful, it is not necessary to photograph him or try to make "art" out of the misery of others.
nice to see another shoot film episode... last week I missed out on the same Rolleiflex for £180 on eBay I was going to bid but it didn't have case but was working I wish I just bought it now 😕😊
Great video. Weird to see the city with so many people. Street photography with the rollei is fun and challenging. I also shot film around NYC a lot. @mediumformula
Peace Ed! Great video as always! The skate pics...haha twice you captured wonderful stills of them but neither skater landed their tricks...gotta remove em from the video!!! Haha just playing. Thanks for sharing great content~
I missed this! The photos are totally awesome even with the missed focus and I laughed a little when you did the candid shots since I could relate. The colors came out amazing! Did you correct the skin tones a little? I usually get more red skin tones "out of camera" (even with my Epson scanner). Hope you're making the best of the quarantine and staying healthy :)
@@edpavez My tip for getting colours right on a flatbed scanner is to scan a strip of several frames, including the unexposed film between the frames to get an average for the strip, plus true black, then examine the histogram, and fiddle with the controls for each channel based on this result. Even better is to use a strip from the beginning of the film where the exposed end before the first picture represents white.

Just scanned 24 frames for Ektar with a Rolleicord. Vuescan cant handle the scans. I have to increase the boarders into the blacks to be able to get a decent color....
Saludos.

Very nice video presentation of this wonderful camera. But I've never understood why so many North Americans say "Rolleeeeflex" instead of the original German pronunciation, which is "Rollei" as in "Roll-eye."
Hello Ed. Incredible video as always. I have a rolleiflex fx pretty much similar to the E but I have difficulty in acquiring spot on focus or at least it takes me awhile. You seem to be able to get them quite quickly even at wide open. Do you mind to share your technics thanks.
0:05 you and me Eduardo, you and me. Each morning I wake up I have no time to mess around with trying to comb my hair. I just put on my hoodie when I go out for a walk with the dog. Barber shops actually opened this week but I still prefer not to go. 2:05 cool guy was super cool.
how refreshing to see life in the city how it once was
Ektar 100 is incredibly underrated...much like Ed's haircut

Lovely video and pictures! The trick you pull at 6:41 always works
Great shots, but I couldn't help the overwhelming feeling of "wow look how many people there are in one place!" I wonder when that'll happen again?
Loved this clip. I love that you’re showing all your photos and process. Definitely some good ones!
Yes! More Jazz! Hahaha
Always love the music you pick Ed, adds a magical mood to the videos ❤️

The pictures look very smooth, almost like a paint, or when you go crazy on noise reduction in Lightroom. Is that a characteristic of the film?
it is because they are out of focus (he mentioned it at the beginning) therefore they look very soft. but I like them nonetheless
It could be just the combination of slow film and mediumformat that to you looks very smooth.
