Lol. Bron failed and bailed too many times. He talks a lot about wanting to be the GOAT. He'll do anything to avoid adversity and pad his stats. MJ never said he was trying to be the GOAT. MJ's focus was on winning titles for the team/city that drafted him. LeBron plays for stats, MJ played for winning. Playing to win is always going to come out on top.

Tim Duncan numbers are better than Kobe, Kareem, Hakeem Olajuwon, bill Russell, Larry bird and way better than magic Johnson.
      Tim Duncan:
      First in block
      First in double double
      3 in rebounds
One of 6 players to score 5,000 points in playoffs history
      19 in assists

Kobe was great but he's simply not in the goat conversation for total career, maybe just comparing primes but first 3seasons wasn't a top 10 player last 4 seasons was hurt. And even though Lakers were very 2 man dominant and Kobes greatness was absolutely needed but Shaq was the man, and by a wide margin the first title when he averaged 38pts and 16rebounds in the finals and Kobe was 15pts on 36% and that was 4years in.

@@donniepate7313 Guys I'm sorry but you can't really take accomplishments of wilt and Russel with same weight as other players. They played with as low as 8 teams in the league, and in later years few season with what, 14 teams... And with that many teams he won 2 championships as freak of nature that had insane advantage over every single player in that era. And Russell was on only stacked team inside whole league (and with only few teams in it as well) so no big surprise in 11 championships
Kareem has 6 rings and for sure you can put him in top players of all times, but for his last two rings he was sort of being carried, he did like 6 rebounds and 15 points so still not in GOAT conversation imo but he is very close up there.
I always laugh when I see someone read how many points and rebounds Wilt scored and just went with GOAT notion without context. Who knows how many players would average that many or more if they were put in that era. I believe Shaq would do even better yet he is never in conversation for top 3 players.

LeBron put more pressure on himself when he got to Miami and said "Not 5, not 6, not 7.." Before that, he took a bad Cleveland team to the finals against San Antonio when he was young.
At the time he made his prediction, Bird had 3 rings, Shaq had 4, Kobe and Magic had 5 apiece, Kareem and Jordan with 6 apiece and Bill Russell with 11.
When it became obvious that LeBron wouldn't catch Jordan, then people started talking about his stats besides championships.
I can't ignore 6 losses in the finals if he only has 3 victories. Magic has 4 losses in the finals, but he won five times, so why bring it up? I never hear the excuse that it's good enough to get there for any other athlete except LeBron and Peyton Manning.
Peyton Manning kept failing in the postseason, people got around it by saying he was the "Greatest Regular Season Quarterback." When he got his second ring, they stopped

    • @shaamirhaneef

Gotta disagree here, he was only favored in 2 of his finals because he never had the better all round team. Except Dallas and OKC, I can't excuse Dallas and that was and is the biggest blemish on his resume. But he never had healthy running mates in their prime in the NBA Finals. They were either always injured or unreliable, he has shown up in basically every finals except for Dallas. Fundamentally, for 95% of his career he has beaten who he should have beaten with the resources he had at the time. Once again except for Dallas. That's all anyone can ask from him.

Here is the thing I noticed about Lebron. For someone that some people claim to be the “goat” he sure does have a lot of excuse makers for him.
GOATs aren’t 3-6 in the finals. GOATs don’t (constantly) jump ship once the going gets rough. GOATs don’t choke in the finals and get ran off his own court by Dirk Nowitzki.

The Lakers were going to make it to the post season since 2013 and were probably going to make it to the western conference finals led by a 36 year old LeBron. Also, let’s not pretend those Miami teams that lost to Dirk, then were saved by a last second shot by Ray Allen, then were ran off the court the following year by Duncan and Kawhi were scrubs. They were absolutely loaded.
Dewayne Wade is the third greatest shooting guard of all time (after Jordan and Kobe). Chris Bosh is another Hall Of Famer (who rebounded Lebron’s last second brick in Game Six and had the court presence to pass it to Ray Allen). They also had great role players.

That dude! “Helicopter ride to the top” he played on the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first 7 years of his career. When he left, his best teammate was Mo Williams. How on earth is that a helicopter ride to the top. He didn’t have the privilege of his organisation drafting a hall of famer to play with him (Pippen). He didn’t have the privilege of being drafted to the best organisation in the sport with McHale and Parish arriving soon after (Bird). He didn’t get the privilege of being drafted to the LA Lakers, with a prime Shaquille O’Neal / Kareem already on his team (Kobe and Magic). LeBron’s start to his career is worlds apart from those I mentioned above, he had to leave to have a chance at success. LeBron’s stats have given him 3 titles and 9 finals appearances. Westbrook’s has given him 1 finals appearance. That’s the difference. LeBron’s stats lead to wins, he’s not hunting triple doubles at the expense of his team like Westbrook has been prone to do on occasion.

Instead he goes to the Lakers with Kareem waiting with the great organization that is the Lakers and the big beautiful city of LA. In a weak Western conference thru out the 80s only the Lakers n the rockets represented west in that whole decade. Played with Wilkes worthy McAdoo Scott just to name a few. It's no secret that magic to Lakers bird to Boston was setup to help the NBA eat off that rivalry and help NBA for ratings. Now what bout Kobe. Kobe gets traded to the Lakers on draft day paired with a soon to be prime Shaq. Coached by phil coming off 6 titles in 8 years. Win three titles get the big head shoot away a title against the Pistons got Phil and Shaq outta town. Miss the playoffs in his prime get Phil back acquired pay gasol for pennies on dollars. Go the three finals win two. Get swept as two time defending champs(never hear that brought up). Lose Phil tear Achilles take 40 mill get farewell tour. You listed a bunch of great teams that were formed by the front office of great organizations. None of that has anything to do with the point
I'm making about one player hand picking his teammates and playing de facto GM wherever he goes.
And for every great team you can list, I can name you a dozen players who were never so lucky as to have front offices that were competent enough or well connected enough to get the right players around them. Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson played in an era when
there was no free agency. This meant that they had to stay with the team that drafted them until they were traded. So is it fair to compare
players of the past with players of today who have all the advantages of player movement that certain older players lacked? THAT is my point!

KD is 100% a better shooter however even in the NBA finals were LBJ lost he had a slightly better FG% because he could get to the basket.. LBJ is clearly a better passer and better play maker.. Man what he brung in plenty of all stars and perfect pieces to fit around LeBron. I believe they were the 1 seed the year they lost to the Magic but sm1 made a horrible decision of leaving JJ Hickson off the playoff roster when he was the only one with the athleticism (besides Bron) to matchup with Dwight. They brung in Larry Hughes, Mo Williams, Ben Wallace, Antawn Jamison, and plenty others throughout the years just for ppl to say they don’t fit with LeBron. So as of now, it seems only superstars fit with him smh. Big Z was also an all star but Bron turns all post players into spotup shooters. He’s essentially the big man on the team and essentially the point guard so there are only a select few who would want to even play with him and if they do they eventually get tired of being discredited by the media. Sometimes I think if Bron was in Kyrie’s spot and hit that shot he woulda still got Finals MVP or if he had James Harden or Westbrook numbers he would win MVP 3 years in a row. Ppl are just biased. As of today with his 3-6 record with an insane amount of help it’s definitely possible he isn’t top if he retired today. But he’s definitely better at basketball than Bill Russell.

Mo Williams is a nice player but you need more to beat 4 current all stars in the Celtics and there good bench. Jamison, nice player but look at what he did elsewhere too. None of those guys you listed I would take above Rajon Rondo. That’s more impressive than anything Lebron has ever done in his career period. It’s a flat out lie that Lebron has beat “much harder” competition i know you have to be young to make a stupid statement like that. The best team he beat was golden state and that was BEFORE they were stacked, the cavaliers had just as much talent as they did in 2016. Not to mention the league had to pull some funny business to get the cavs back in that series but we won’t go down that road. The only stacked teams he faced in the finals were the 17 and 18 warriors and he got blown off the floor both times. Jordan was always the best player in the finals hands down. You can’t say that about Lebron unless your a liar. Jordan never had a finals like Lebron did in 07 when he averaged 22ppg on 36% shooting. Jordan never had a finals where he averaged 17ppg and scored 8 points in a finals game, and got outplayed by two of his teammates. Here's the issue, LeBron has fled to a better team every time he's felt his team was in a downward spiral. Boston and Orlando better than Cleveland, flees to Miami. Wade and Bosh start getting old, flee back to Cleveland to get a younger version of Wade and Bosh. With the salary cap maxed out with roles players and an Eastern Conference on the rise he flees to the Lakers KNOWING Anthony Davis is on his way. LeBron and AD threw the 2018-2019 season away because they couldn't get their way. Players like Jordan, Kobe, Dirk, etc stayed with their franchise to go through growing pains, and the ups and downs. LeBron has been smart to bounce around the league how he has, but it makes him look like he's not competitive.

Also, 2007 had the worst Eastern Conference in modern history. Those Detroit Pistons were garbage compared to Larry Brown's Championship Pistons team, so please save that rebuttal (because I know you were going to go there) for someone that doesn't know what they're talking about. Allen Iverson made it to the Finals with a team of defenders, no second option and no one praises that. At least he stole a game from the Lakers (which were undefeated in the playoffs that year). Btw where did you get Shaq from? I mentioned Dirk, not Shaq and you call me an idiot? Learn to read before you call people names. Kobe did "dEmand" a trade, but that's what ultimately got him Pau Gasol, so why bring that up? Tim Duncan almost went to Orlando, is that relevant? I said LeBron was SMART for how he's managed his career, but he must be scrutinized for it because he's ran away every time the ship started sinking. No man should be above reproach. No, LeBron stayed with Cleveland for 9 years. During that time period, the Gm never put an All-Star around around him and still managed his way to the finals by himself at 22.. He had every right to leave.

How he left with the "decision" and conspiring with Wade and Bosh for a superteam is where the respect was lost for many. And Bosh wasn't even the real choice at first, it was Melo but Melo signed that huge contract in NY so Bosh was the backup plan.
The hilarious thing is the same folks defending that, are destroying KD for doing pretty much the same thing, it's only worse cause he actually lost to GS but it was the same thing. Just worse cause KD joined the team that beat him.

1st: he’s still playing. Could still win another title yet. Currently the 1 seed in the west.
2nd: LeBron gave the franchise that drafted him - the Cleveland Cavaliers - 7 years to put a competent team around him. They failed to do so. Was there a Scottie Pippen on the Cavaliers in 2010? Where was the all-star sidekick on the 2010 Cavaliers that LeBron knew he could rely on like Jordan did with Pippen? Better yet- how many of LeBrons team mates on the 2010 cavaliers were still in the league by the time he came back in 2014? It’s ridiculous to expect LeBron to waste his entire career playing with Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao. No sane basketball superstar would stay with that train wreck. I wish Kevin Garnett had left Minnesota sooner, look how he wasted his prime with a garbage franchise. Same thing would have happened to LeBron. I’m glad he got out of there and didn’t have to waste his entire career on that team.

You know the issue here? People are ultimately salty that a player takes his career into his own hand instead of waiting for a bad front office to do their job.
After 7 years of not getting a good draft pick, or a decent trade, or a good free agent, he decided to do his own thing and create his own team.
We all forget Abdul Jabbar left the Sixers to go to Lakers. Wilt left warriors to go to the Lakers to join Jerry West.
Also, every single other player on this list had a super team at some point that their front office built.
Kobe had Dwight Howard, Nash, Chris Paul at some point, Shaq at his peak at another. Gasol, Odom, Bynum at another
Russell had 8 hall of famers on his teams along the year.
Jordan had Pippen and Rodman(2 time champion already at that time.
Magic had Worthy and Abdul Jabbar
    Bird had Parish and Mchale
Even Paul Pierce had Garnett (former MVP) and Ray Allen (Perennial All Star)
Lebron just had shitty front offices, wanted to control his life, and decided to do things his own way.
And we criticize him for that.
