Let Pippen and Rodman go, bring in McGrady who was on the market and a younger more agile center and run it back with Jordan, T-Mac, Kukoc and Harper in '99. They'd have beaten the Spurs in 6 or 7 based on experience! It was set up perfectly for MJ to rest up and play the short season and whoop the Knicks and the Heat in the East.

Tangara...its obvious you don't know NBA basketball...the Bulls sweeping the Spurs in the finals is actually funny to me. That is what FANBOYS say!!!
Realistically, the Bulls might have been lucky enough to make the finals but most likely would have lost in 5 games. The best thing for MJ was the Bulls breaking up! Don't get me wrong, he was arguably the greatest winner in NBA history but that had absolutely nothing left for 1999!

If Mike doesn't tear his meniscus his first year with the Wizards they easily make the playoffs. Before he got hurt they were on a pace to win 47 games. Mike had a legitimate chance at MVP that year. They Wizards won like 19-20 games the year before and were on pace for 47 before Mike tore the meniscus.

The Bulls realistically could have won every championship in the 1990s. Game 7 of the 1990 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Scottie Pippen gets the migraine. 1994 and 1995 MJ was playing baseball and came back for 17 games after baseball. Two full seasons of MJ could have resulted in rings. In 1999 if they came back for one more they could have beaten the Spurs. I know it's unlikely but crazy to think how possible that really was. At the very least they could have reached the NBA Finals all 10 years.

@SuperPunch76 I feel you. But if LeBron can go to 8 in a row I have no doubts MJ could have went to 10 especially since he owned the NBA and not just his conference. He owned Patrick Ewing and the other formidable foe Orlando wouldn't have Horace Grant because he still would be with Chicago in 94 and 95. Lots of ifs.. and I'm not saying they would have I'm just saying that's how realistically close they were. I wonder if Pippen didn't have that Migraine would the bulls have won four in a row

I'll have to favor the bulls if played in 99'. Pippen made the conference finals against shaq and Kobe in 2000.
MJ took 3 years off and still lead his team in points, assists, steals for two years in a row for Washington.
99' MJ would have still led the league in scoring, Pippen still very productive. Bulls beat those spurs.

P.S. Jordan would have been 36 , Rodman 38, Pippen 34, Harper 34 and Kukoc 31. The 4 most important players all would not only been past their primes but they were pretty worn down after almost 8 straight years of playing almost to the finals (with the exception of Jordan who played a pretty tough minor league schedule during his 1.5 year retirement). The Spurs were a very young and hungry team that played GREAT DEFENSE and had 2 of the 3 best big men in the NBA on the same team.
...and the guy who posted that the Knicks took SA to 7 games must not have watched those finals. Not only did SA dismantle them in 5 games the Knicks highest scoring game of that series was 89 pts. and they averaged about 75 pts a game!
That was a great defense and if I'm not mistaken the Spurs only lost 2x in those playoffs, sweeping the Kobe Shaq Lakers and that stacked Portland team that had Rasheed Wallace, Jermaine O'Neil, Bonzi Wells, Jim Jackson, Stacey Augmon, A. Sabonis, and D. Stoudamire...and that was a pretty stacked team.

And note to all the kids thinking LeBaby Lames is even in the top 30 convo let alone The GOAT convo...If your league has no defence and most your shots are uncontested you're not a Nba great you're just someone who gets to take free shots all game and in that case I would hope you can get alot of points and wins since your league is the equivalent of playing shoot around with your friends. And even with all that LeBron had to team hop just to leech off of other stars talents and teams for rings.

And what the HELL is Chris talking about that Admiral was old. He played until 2003 and was just no older than the Bulls youngest impact or great role player! Again (in 1999), MJ was 36, Rodman 38, Pippen 34, and Harper 34...and the Spurs got Kerr who was the youngest of the Bulls great role players. Chris is a Jordan fan and just wants to believe they had 1 more on them...it was OVER, PERIOD....end of story!
Remember, the Spurs swept the Kobe Shaq Lakers and that stacked Portland team that year and went 15-2 in playoffs and had the best defense by far in the NBA that year!

Kobe wasn't HOF Kobe yet, just starting to become an all-star. D. Robinson was getting old he averaged 15 that year. That Portland team wasn't stacked yet either until the year after when they added Pippen and Steve Smith. So it is possible the bulls had 1 more stop it.

  • @anthonyzarate9807
    @anthonyzarate9807 4 года назад

Remember, the Spurs had Kerr and Elliot was in his prime and they both hit big shots during that playoff run. Robinson was 34, Elliot was 30 and Duncan was 23. So the Admiral was as young as any of the Bulls impact players and was still a great defender and tim protector... not too mention Duncan was 1st team ALL-NBA defense and should have won the MVP that year! Duncan finished 3rd (740 pts) to Malone (827), and Mourning (773). The Heat lost in the 1st round and the Jazz lost to Portland in the 2nd round in 6 games. That Jazz team took the Bulls 6 games and easily could have went 7 the year before. The Spurs easily swept that Portland team that easily handled the Jazz.

The sad reality is that the 7th Championship is not important to the Bull's management and owner. Why would they push for it? It would only cost money. It's only important for Jordan's legacy.

LBJ did say that he was chasing the ghost. Years later, he revealed the time when they completed the upset of the 73-9 team in their 2016 NBA Finals was the moment he "felt" he was the greatest of all time. He said that as a response to a question in a specific context. He did not come out like a Muhammad Ali proclaiming to be "the Greatest of All Time" on a ring (court in basketball). LBJ is entitled to his own view of where he is in that journey of chasing the ghost which I understood to be such a high standard that he himself perceived. Chris Broussard, come on man, you know that. A Rob Parker or a Skip Bayless would latch on to something like that and use it for click bait and for radio shows but not you. Come on, LBJ already said it that he has placed MJ on a GOAT pedestal.

Sorry, but not when their 4 impact players need walkers to play! They were completely gassed and ALL well past their primes! It was over and the MJ fan boys need to face reality! I know Chris "little white lie" Broussard (as COJ calls him) wants to believe that his IDOL had 2 more title in him but the fact is they were VERY LUCKY to get past the OLD Jazz and the Pacers!

    • @anthonyzarate9807

...I'm almost 5o and watched every one of those games live! The Bulls were down by 9 in game 7 (late in the 4th) to the Pacers. They were done...PERIOD!!!
I can't understand why people.still can't see the toll multiple title runs take on a franchise! If it was that easy the GS Warriors would've 5-peated...it is just too hard and takes a lot of luck!
