Draymond has to count his blessings, because he came around at the perfect time, drafted by the perfect team, and played in the perfect system. If Draymond was drafted 10 yrs sooner, he wouldn't have lasted 3 seasons in the NBA. The big men of that time would've annihilated him on the block. He simply would've been to small.
@Red HawK13 Ok if he's so great why are his stats at such a career low? Especially without Steph and Klay taking shots from him this season. One of the reasons the Warriors lost to the Cavs was because Andrew Bogut got hurt but one of the reasons the Warriors beat the Cavs the first time was because they bench Bogut for Andre Iguodala
Well, Blatt was using Mozgov, with Tristan n Lebron. So Kerr had to use speed n finesse to put the game in the Warriors control. Eddie Jones Steph would eat “to a degree”? It’s fascinating that one of the NBAs most efficient and potent offensive players ever (and greatest shooter of all time) would have such a difficult time. Kobe and Shaq are great, that’s clear, I agree. But saying that one of the best NBA players ever and greatest shooter ever would have all these struggles doesn’t add up. Not one bit. This is the same guy that dropped 33 in a half, a clutch two quarters, to send the loaded and fully healthy Rockets home in the western conference finals, without Durant, and with a broken finger. This is also the same guy that dropped 47 points on a Box and One defense tailored to stopping him alone. He also is in the top 3 highest true shooting percentage in the finals, and he’s also a top 10 PPG finals performer. Again, the math doesn’t work out regardless of the disrespect he continues to receive for whatever the reason

Love the warriors but cmon man, OKC almost beat them in the WCF using their size. Adams, Ibaka and Durant gave them a hard time underneath plus OKC didnt have a system just a two way offense between Russ and KD. Prime Shaq and Kobe will kill em in offense. I love curry and klay but the reason why both never won a finals mvp is bec both are not very good shot makers. Whn the defense gets tighter, and their outside shooting is not fallin, its gonna be a rought night for them. U cant say that about shaq and kobe. Plus kobe made an interesting comment, him, shaq and Phil's triangle can dictate the pace of the game. I see shaq and kobe gettin to the line more often. Lakers will also likely to control the boards which was the problem of the warriors when bogut got injured and Tristan feasted underneath with offensive boards.
Warriors are a great team for todays NBA but people always forget that OKC and houston almost beat them. In the FINALS, fatigue is alwas the MAIN FACTOR. Defense wins championships and the team that controls the boards would most probably be the victor. The 2000 lakers is the worst matchup for the warriors because shaq can still run in 2000 lol. That was his mvp season and he was playing almost the entire game during the playoffs. That lakers team had the defense to tireout the warriors, no one in the warriors can stop 2000 Shaq lol
@@realitybites629 What you guys are describing is contrasting styles. Teams perimeter-oriented with shooting is always the opposite of someone pounding it inside because inside shots are higher %. That is why I have been saying for the last 2-3 years, the notion of big men going out of style is mere because of the lack of players that implement it, not because it doesn't work. Put a big man that can get his shot on the Warriors and see what happens. That OKC team caused problems with having both Adams and Ibaka in the middle, with Kevin Durant and Russel to still worry about. They did take out the Spurs, who had the second-best record with 67 wins.
The catalyst will be about who is dictating the game with the scoring. If the Warriors continued having big leads as they did vs most opponents, players like Shaq would be ineffective because of the deficit they have. But if t's a slow game with less transition basket and inside play, it would favor the Lakers.
They lost to the cavs and THEY, Steph,Klay and draymond asked or begged KD to join them!!!! Kd was on vacation remember that part 5 times idiots. And why has Steph not won a dumbass mvp!!!! Stfu
No they didn’t lol and Malone is a WAAAAAY better scorer than Draymond. The jazz beat the Lakers because players like Kobe and fisher were young and weren’t developed. Shaq averaged 31 on 57% and that’s against a 7 foot center in osertag. Shaq wasn’t guarding Malone
I mean in 2017 klay shot under 38% in the playoffs did not playmake didn't rebound that well and they still won 15 games in a row ….thats insane to think about
Gsw would ball out against the Lakers. Yea shaq would have alot of points but he would also give up pts outside the paint and kobe would have to pick either klay or kd to gaurd. Lakers didn't have a run the floor type system especially if kobe gets hot. Then shaq was #1 and kobe #2. Well gsw had steph #1 clay #2 kd#3 and dre #4 to stretch the floor more. Just like now the warriors would out shoot the lakers like they out shoot most people and the lakers would be trying their hardest to get to the rim. So just like lebron just force kobe to the rim let shaq power the rim and hold off the rest of the team. The warriors have just enough defense to do that.
For an overpaid bum, he sure talks a lot. This is called luck kids. If he was on any other team he would fighting for a rotation spot, not getting paid 80 mil.
ibn faqir okay would the late great Kobe Bryant be as great if he didn’t have phil Jackson so literally to be a champ you have to have some luck and for a second round player he’s not that much of a bum
lmao hilarious how they ignored that guys Kings/Donaghy argument. That series was PROVEN to be rigged by Donaghy's book, and the Kings still only lost in the last minute of Game 7 and were outplaying the Lakers that entire series. The Lakers bias is real. So tired of people holding onto nostalgia and assuming the older team from back in the day always wins by default. It's just mindless.
Warriors strength was their bench which they lost after trading for KD people seem to forget that lol. Steph in the playoffs is not Steph in the regular season.
Steph is top ten in Finals ppg and has the 3rd highest true shooting percentage in the post season, specifically the finals. We need to stop listening to the media dude. Steph’s not just the greatest shooter ever, but also a great player in general. I’m not sure why people subscribe to such nonsense honestly.
Warriors strength is their team play both on offense and defense. You couple that with really good playmakers, elite shooters and good defensive players. Lakers is a really good team but not enough to withstand warriors. I've been watching the NBA since the early 90s. The only reason physicality worked before because players had a limited shooting range and played mostly one on one.
I find it crazy how even old nba analyst admit today players are much more skilled but couldn’t play in eras before because of physicality ... today players are handicapped because they can’t touch plenty of players would be much better on defense if they could touch and grabs without today’s ref and soft as fouls
The 2000 LA roster has Grant 6'10, Horry 6'9, Deven Goerge 6'8, and Ron Harper 6'6 all would guard Draymond before Shaq. Draymond is on the bench with 4 fouls in the 1st half while guarding Shaq.
Smartest thing i ever heard Rob say, "I don't Prescribe to people saying you can't compare the era's. You still have to get the ball in the hole. Its Basketball!!!!!!
Rod Wells it’s hard dealing with people who are uneducated on history or who aren’t students of the game. The zone defense was the biggest thing changed. Zone wasn’t allowed until Shaq started dominating. Shaq even threaten to quit because he knew what it meant, This is how Detroit was able to beat them! The rule made the open man the most dangerous on the court do non blacks could play with blacks who was just to physical. If the rules never would of changed Shaq would of had 7 rings and that is a fact
.this is the issue...la won with derek fisher as their third best player in 2001 going 15-1...the warriors had 5 better players than him in 2017 and 5 in 2016 and 5 in 2015 and 4.5 in 2018..5 in 2019...thats a lot replace when fisher is going against klay and they have green still and iggy….
At their best, no team could ever stop Curry, KD and Clay. The games would be competitive, but at the end of the day it’s hard to keep up with the shooting of them three.
Shaq and Kobe would have destroyed the league in this era. Plain and simple. If Shaq and Kobe came into the league with lebron and MELO and wade lebron and wade would have zero titles. There is nothing you can say that would change my mind. Shaq would absolutely dominate the league this day and age. Hell they probably would have won 8 titles by now.
Shaq would have had 45 per game. The Warriors literally had nobody that could have remotely guarded him. I still say that triangle offense was so effective and consistent that nothing these teams are doing today, even with all the 3s they're jacking up, would be able to contend with it. The Bulls with Jordan and Kobe's Lakers would dominate this era just like they did theirs.
Shaq and Kobe played in four NBA Finals together and the only team to beat them were the Detroit Pistons. Coach Brown had the Master game plan that was effective against those two, which was to play Shaq straight up with hardly any double teams, and let him get his points. They also made Kobe a perimeter player, in which he forced tons of bad shots in the series, because they wouldn't let him drive the lanes with any consistency. The length of Tayshaun really bothered him, along with Rasheed and Ben waiting to help. The Pistons starters vs. the Lakers starters, it was no contest. The Pistons killed the Lakers on the offensive glass. The Pistons killed the Lakers in getting to the free throw line, Rip and Chauncey were very aggressive going to the hoop, the whole team actually. The Pistons got great shots on offense, and the Lakers struggled to get good shots because the Pistons contested almost all of them, and played great team defense. The Lakers barely got any 2nd shot attempts because Detroit cleaned the defensive glass as well. The Pistons pressured the ball full court after they made a shot or a free throw, which meant the Lakers were a half court team, and got the offense going late in the shot clock. The Lakers also didn't have very many transition baskets, as the Pistons were able to get back and stay in front. The Pistons bench was superior in the series on the perimeter, as well as with the use of their big men. Lindsey, Corliss, Okur, Elden all played their role fantastic. They didn't have to play Hack-a-Shaq either. So those are some of the things that made a difference in the series. If the Warriors can do all those things and more against the Lakers, then they might be able to win, but if they can't, then they will be in line with Indiana, Philly, and New Jersey. The Detroit Pistons "Goin To Work" Crew Defeated Shaq, Kobe, Phil, and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers in 5 games, and 3 of those games were double digits, the other by eight points. It was beautiful basketball to watch!
People forgot how talent that laker team was man. They sleep on harper too who added extra scoring the Kobe's sheer determination and shaq's dominance.
2001 Lakers will the series in 6 games. The lakers would slow down the tempo and play the triangle offense. With that set up, Shaq and Kobe were unstoppable.
It’s ridiculous seeing people debate and act like they speak facts when it comes to basketball when some wouldn’t even come close to the knowledge and perspective that Shaq came with.
Did he forget about those kings teams? The Houston team that busted his ass in the 95 finals? They used pick & rolls, pick and pops, running & shooting the ball.
Crazy to say this but I take Fisher over Steph on game winning shot attempt or any clutch shot. Fisher and Horry were big time in the clutch. Fans forget how great non superstars are and how important they were.

He had the athleticism to chase Steph around picks. Draymond is no factor against a 325lb Shaq it's hilarious ,& Livingston is 192lbs. Dude is my wieght. Livingston is too small & would be prone too injury dealing with Shaq. That's very easy money in the paint for Shaq.

YoMomma LikeThisMeat with what evidence for his career he has averaged 27 6 and 5 so i don’t get what your saying and if you bring up 2016 that’s one series but you wont bring up the other 4 finals so were he torched kyrie in 2017 or that he dominated in 2018 or played really well in 2019 were he only had klay to help him space the floor so

Shaq is right. Iverson had a different level of toughness. Steph has never been like Iverson. Shaq fouls all the big men out quickly. Klay is exhausted guarding prime Kobe...forcing Steph to have to carry the load, which he doesn't do in the playoffs very often, especially in later rounds.
Derek Fisher, Ron Harper & Ty Lue would take turns wearing Curry down on the perimeter. It's competitive if the Warriors have KD, but it's a sweep without KD. Also, Kobe is checking Klay. Lakers 4-0

bro I am so tired of hearing draymond green talk. man averages a triple single for his career and ppl wanna pipe him up as a hof. Draymond's entire career is a scam; it is all just the team around him.
Ben Wallace is 6’9 NOT 6’7 Chris. It’s amazing sometimes how often these “experts” are wrong about simple facts like how tall people are.
They lie about the players' heights a lot.
He simply would've been to small.
like 6'8 Rodman and 6'5 Charles Barkley??
@Red HawK13 Ok if he's so great why are his stats at such a career low? Especially without Steph and Klay taking shots from him this season. One of the reasons the Warriors lost to the Cavs was because Andrew Bogut got hurt but one of the reasons the Warriors beat the Cavs the first time was because they bench Bogut for Andre Iguodala
Well, Blatt was using Mozgov, with Tristan n Lebron. So Kerr had to use speed n finesse to put the game in the Warriors control. The next year I really can't speak on it because Warriors were destroying the Cav's like they had been doing all year. Then Bogut going down plus Draymond situation cause a chain reaction And I haven't rewatched that series, (especially games 4-7) since it happened to go into specifics. Hurts too much.

Shaq didn’t address their best player, KD. Would be a super fun series.
The warriors would abuse the Lakers
First of all Kevin Durant joined a team that beat him he needed Stephen Curry to win a champion.

GSW ain’t eating in the Shaq and Kobe era!!! PERIOD. Shaq speakin all OG facts💯

True Prophit stop capping!! The Warriors weren’t together when the league took away hand checking. Shut the hell up
Rod Wells it’s hard dealing with people who are uneducated on history or who aren’t students of the game. The zone defense was the biggest thing changed. Zone wasn’t allowed until Shaq started dominating. Shaq even threaten to quit because he knew what it meant, This is how Detroit was able to beat them! Draymond Green wouldn't even be talked about had he left the Warriors to go to the Pistons. Draymond who?
At their best, no team could ever stop Curry, KD and Clay. The games would be competitive, but at the end of the day it’s hard to keep up with the shooting of them three.
You are so right Sir!! Shaq and Kobe 8 rings!!
Robert Horry, let's not forget about him. If you think Fisher couldn't stick Steph, please. Fisher and Horry both played defense.
Prime Shaq in today's NBA surrounded with four 3 Pt shooters = Unstoppable!
If Jordan had Shaq in his prime, the Bulls may have won 10 championships
Definitely the Lakers. Not only would Shaq utterly BRUTALIZE them but Kobe would also be the second best player to shaq in the series!
If the warriors have KD it makes it interesting but PRE KD lakers in 3 (peat)
KD warriors would light lakers up from 3
Did he forget about those kings teams? The Houston team that busted his ass in the 95 finals? They used pick & rolls, pick and pops, running & shooting the ball.
Crazy to say this but I take Fisher over Steph on game winning shot attempt or any clutch shot. Fisher and Horry were big time in the clutch. Fans forget how great non superstars are and how important they were.
Well how did they get swept in the 2011 Western Semifinals vs the Mavs fella?
Shaq would've pulverized this squad
Kobe shut down A.I, what you think he gonna do to Steph, laughable at best...
When????
The Lakers. Control the tempo. Make it a half court game. That's the game.
